Hello, I am from Argentina and I am taking the speaking test tomorrow and the other ones at saturday. Your videos were very very helpful for me,they are really good. They also have helped me to improve my pronunciation and it is more didactic doing it by watching the videos here than doing it on your own with a book,specially if you are studing alone like me. In part 3 you discuss something together using a series of photos, so if you look at the part 3 videoson this site imagine discussing the questions together. Yes you have about 3 minutes and it doesn't matter if you don't finish discussing all the pictures. Tip. Don't decide too early. Good luck :)

You can say things like 'What else can I say?' or ' I can't think of anything more to say' or if you want togive yourself some time, ' that's a tricky question' or 'let me think'

I am from greece and i just took the first 4 parts of the fce exam (reading,writting,use of english and listening ) I am now kinda relaxed cause i 've always been good at speaking so i guess i wont have any problem , The only thing i am worried about is the possibilty of being afraid to talk while the examiner is staring at me , but i guess i will get over it!! I found your videos quite useful really. im taking my speaking exam on May 29 and there's something i wanna know.. When doing part 2 bout comparing photographs, how do you do it? i mean do u have 2 speak first bout one pic and than bout the other? or both at the same time? please!

One way of doing this is to briefly describe the two pictures, saying what is similar/ different in each picture and then look at the question at the top of the sheet with the pictures and try to answer it

thx 4 yr comments. the best way to activate yr vocab is to make list of the kind of topics you get in FCE and then write a few questions connected to the topic. If you do this with a friend it's a great way to practise. Good luck!!!!!

I did the FCA last december but I didn't do well on the speaking part. I was a disaster during the personal questions. She asked me things I wouldn't even care or know how to answer on my own language, like "Have you visited a place near your city recently?"... and I had to lie because there's nothing important near my city (cool things are ON my city). so, if we don't know the answer we just lie? because I was told if I lied then it could get more complicated, what do you think?

Hi,

It doesn't matter if you tell a lie but In my opinion it's quite difficult to talk about something that you haven't really done. So you could either answer the question by saying 'No, but I have visited ...... in my city and it was ..... or No but I would like to visit ........ because ........ The questions are just there to give you the opportunity to speak. If you can't think of anything to say, then say that and the examiner will ask you another question.

In part 1 the examiner interviews both students together. He/she will ask you a question and after you have answered will usually ask your partner a different question. Sometimes he/she might ask the same student two questions before asking the other student a question. Good luck
