4 minutes doesn't seem nearly long enough. Even though your tired from doing it afterwards, you're only tired for about 2 minutes, then you feel as if you can do it all over again.
Instead, I did every exercise on here 4 times. Doing the 20 seconds, with ten seconds in between.
mountain climbers are a killer, jumping burpees are also , they get my heart rate up to 170 when used after the stationary running and jumping jacks, and foot fires......you burn a hell of a lot of calories, 45 mins of real intense cardio i lost 600 calories, i do whatever i feel like , just keep moving or die
45min of REAL intensive interval cardio x 3-4 times per week ( thats the MAX amount you need to do aside your weights or anything else ) i considerate as OVERTRAIN.
And overtrain is way worse than not train at all... Dont overdo it. 45m Intensive interval of 170!! omfg.. Youll go to hospital man...
@Azatis insanity is the same, everday except 1 or 2 days , you do interval training and get your heart rate sky high for a certain amount of time, 170 bpm isnt bad at all, for me thats my top fat burning zone , lol, ive had my heart rate plus that . but ive lost allot of weight and fat, and now im focusing on weight training every other day for an hour.
the intensity is good. The amount of time is alot.
You keeping your whole "body" to such a stress for so long that dont know if will be good for you after a month or 2. If you can handle it , ok ... what can i say.
Im peaking at 156/158 so 170 sound harsh i guess.

The joy of the Tabata exercise (if you can call it joy) is that it spurs aerobic and anaerobic exercise to the equivalent of an hour of endurance training. It is currently revered as the most effective fat burning exercise, but it is excruciatingly difficult to do.
@MyCameos66 try on excercise bike which will reduce stress on knees . in order to get full benefit from this workout you need to get your legs involved . if you knees cant handle bike , maybe swim or press push aganist wall ,like doing a pushup but standing and pushing off a walll , hope this helps
depends on how much you eat, when you eat, how much your rest burning rate is, how much you weigh, how much you are overweight, how much muscle, what intensity you do these exercises on...
I should mention that below is if you're starting out. Eventually you can work yourself where you do a full Tabata (full 4 minutes) doing just one exercise. Take a break, and come back and do another 4 minutes of another. You'll be feeling the burn.
So 20 seconds of one of the workouts listed about. Then take 10 seconds to rest. Then do another 20 seconds of another activity. Repeat this until you do all exercises. It'll total up to 4 minutes. If you've got longer than 4 minutes, repeat it all again. This was designed to allow you to get 4 minutes of INTENSE working out.
