I'm glad she decided not to compete in the Vancouver Games. She's an amazing skater and an Olympic title doesn't make you the best. She's the Kween no matter what. Plus this means journalists will quit bugging her about whether or not she's gonna compete again (hoping they don't bother her about Soichi).

It would be interesting and exciting to watch her attempt to get back in skating. I don't think she can win, but it doesn't hurt to try. physically she would have to be stronger and faster then she ever has been. I think she can do, but it will take a lot of hard work and 110% dedication.

MY GOODNESS this brings back memories!!! The only reason Michelle didn't win the gold in 98+02 (I think) Is that Lipinski+Hughes skated the performances of thier lives..... In my opinion despite not winning the gold She is (at the moment) the greatest modern american woman's figure skater of all time!!!!!

To a previous comment- just because Michelle works with a program created by Bush does not mean that she is Republican. Bush is just the current administration that she is working under.

I agree that it would be nearly impossible for Michelle to come back, no matter how much I love her. But, then again, she's not stupid- it's not like she doesn't know that she would have to seriously change and train for the new system. I feel like if anyone could pull it off, it would be her.

it would actually be cool to see her try it, i mean she has been so great for the sport, and her artistry is really amazing, but reality is that there is no way michelle kwan can compete against today's field and win, unless she shomehow comes up landing constant triple flip-triple toe's (as the lowest combination) with a big incredible grade of execution... which i would like to think is possible but i seriously doubt

i know there r many, like kimmie meissner, caroline zhang, who underrotate at times... but there r also skaters like Kim, that have an amazing technique, who actually do complete the rotation.

anyways there r actually skaters who do have the fully rotated triple-triples, so i really think michelle couldnt make it, please dont take me wrong, i would love to see her try it, cuz that takes a lot of courage, but the chances of gold r almost unexistent (wish that wasnt the reeality but it is)

I don't want her to try in 2010 either, she just can't keep up with today's skaters and she will probably get voted on which will deny a skater who has competed the last 4 years which I don't think is fair, I agreed in 2006, don't in 2010. I also don't like her supporting Shrub, I wish she wasn't a Repug, probably her asshole boyfriend influenced her, unfortunately! I still love her and all she has done for the sport, I just don't want her to ruin the dreams of a younger skater.

Since her parents were Hong Kong/Chinese-born, couldn't Michelle skate for China/Hong Kong? I thought about when Angela Nikodinov finished 4th at 2002 Nationals, thus left off the Olympic team, she should have skated for Bulgaria, where her parents were born.
