@davidicus21 Zorro 1919 was a rich playboy with black costume, mask, cape and operated out of a cave. Shadow 1930 worked at night clouded mens minds so they couldn't see him in the dark. Phantom Detective 1930 also called just the Phantom or Phantom in stories was summoned by a beacon but was a redlight not bat signal. The phantom 1936 was also rich playboy, had white eyes(lens in mask) and shorts over pants also worked out of skullcave insteads of batcave and used a gun.
i was told the batman stoped useing a gun when the 1st robin joined him as his sidekick becuase he dident whant to kill infront of a chiled -as the 1st robin was like 13-ish or mabe smaller then that) im new to comic's so this huge storyline to me is confusing :/ it seems to depend on who ever directs the books for the arce?
I like your comment and although i find some logic in your argument, i am not convinvced by it. People that say Batman used a gun to explain current issues are not so of the mark. The Hulk was Gray on Hulk 1 , then near issue 325 Milgrom an d then Peter David introduced the Gray Hulk, which was great. For me if the story is good i dont care for continuty.
@TheVetoSkreeemer And for the record Batman is a murder, he locked up the Kgbeast, to die by famine on the ten Nights of the Beast storyline, He killed Cain on the Batman Son of the Demon Graphic Novel, and lately is responsable for the deaths caused by the Omac Project, if any villian would have done thet he would have spent some long time on the joint.
@FireFistShikamaru Yes and Bucky was resurected after 45 years. Batman killed the Kgbeast on the original story , whatever amendent o stupid plot change makes no sense to me. It falls in the same category as Jason Todd s stupid resurrection, etc. Batman Year Three run on a long time after Ten Nights of the Beast, if DC and Marv Wolfman believed Batman needed to clean his image as a murder for a quick buck, I dont recognize that as a sequel of the original story.
@TheVetoSkreeemer There was no evidence in the original story that KGBeast was killed. He was just imprisoned in the sewers. We don't know what happened after that. And Year Three is still part of canon continuity so Batman didn't kill him.
@FireFistShikamaru ahem for me canon continuity isnt the Holy Bible, one Day Joe Chill murders Batman s parents, then not, then he does it again, i read good stories out of the context of coninuity, if a mediocre writer changes what one did 5, 20 year ago i dont buy it as official version it is just a marketing plot. At least they have respected barbara Gordon getting crippled by the Joker until now, I ve read they thought of reversing that, makes me want to puke.
@FireFistShikamaru Calm down man , on the original Ten Nights of the beast Batman left the Beast locked, that s that. And as for Joe Chill, man after Zero Hour, back on 1994, DC continuity changed, one of its changes was to leave Batmans parents death as an unsolved mistery, there are tons of comics that sprung from that storyline. Joe Chill was reinstated as the killer, after infinte Crisis back on 2005, so that Batman continuty was able to fit with the Batman Begins Movie.
@TheVetoSkreeemer Calm down? I wasn't pissed or angry. What gave you that idea? :/
He did leave KGBeast locked but that doesn't count as a murder because of Year Three. You've heard of "continuity", right?
It's true that the killer was an unknown. But it was obviously still Joe Chill. He hasn't been revealed until Infinite Crisis but it was still him. Who else could it have been? :/
@FireFistShikamaru I am glad your not angry the use of fuck frequently gave me te wrong impression. As for our discussion: 1) Joe Chill: it was hinted at one time that Mettalo migh be the culprit, in any case continuty changed many times on this one 2) I only count the original KgBeast story as my canon, sequels were mediocre, and as for coninuity, an DC is an expert on that they flush it down the toilet evry minute. Remember the original Crisis?
@TheVetoSkreeemer Saying "WTF" doesn't mean someone's angry. It is just an exaggerated way of having no idea what the person is talking about.
True, Marvel/DC are experts at contradicting continuity and creating plot holes. But KGBeast's "death" was a plot hole that was explained with Year Three.
And I admit you have a point about Joe Chill then.
@FireFistShikamaru Well i guess we agrre on almost every point man, except the KGBeast thing. it s just my point of view., I dont pretend to impose to others. On other topics related to that one, for me Phoenix died back on X-Men 137, never came back, Barry Allen is still dead, and the only Question character is Vic Sage.
@FireFistShikamaru The original Criisis eliminated more than 50 years of Superman s continuty , among other things, so if DC as publisher, doesnt respect continuity ,why should I ?, i go along with good stories and authors , and sometimes continuity is a heavy burden, to attract new readers.Take Donna Troy, for example, her origin(s) is so complicated, and mixed up that when you think about it you might want to take an aspirin, same goes for Power Girl, and Hawkman. Be well man
I think if you were make a batman movie comic book or any media, and making it about early batman, probably, set in the forty's, dring ww2 and you made it about that, then you can have batman kill, or you a gun, but batman 89 was not that, it is a tired ecscus to make the movie seem better then it is. it was bad write and you are right Eric.
@blowshimselfupdude You know a lot about comic books history and I respect that, but how I may I ask, is Zorro more like Spiderman, if Batman was inspired by Zorro?
@blowshimselfupdude I remember reading a source that he was inspired by Dracula. I think he was inspired by Sherlock Holmes. He was in Detective comics for pete sakes.
@blowshimselfupdude I think I remember Bob Kane at ONE point or another saying he took Holmes as an influence...but I maybe wrong. Either way, I don't take anything Kane ever said about the inspiration and influences for Batman seriously, for obvious reasons.
@blowshimselfupdude tehey have more in common both are wealthy, tend to work in the night. They are similar not the same even Bob Kane recognized the fact he inspired on Zorro..
@TheVetoSkreeemer But Bob Kane didn't make Batman so why does it matter what he said?
Zorro doesn't soley work at night. And while he is wealthy it's a very different dynamic. Zorro is a happy cheery fun jokey character. He's nothing like Batman.
@blowshimselfupdude and on the cheery thing the 50, and 60 Batman was very cherry, there are so many versions inconsistent over the years some even parallell, canon , elsweorld, etc, that you can say that there are hundreds of Batmen.
@TheVetoSkreeemer Ok.........so there was a point where Batman was more cheery. He didn't START like that. Zorro was never an inspiration on his CREATION.
@blowshimselfupdude well i think yes because they were similar characters and the Zorro is the one that is more similar to Batman. The way I see it Batman is not a 100% original character. Be well, and meke more videos, nice chatting with you.
Thank You for the Kind Off Video Response, and I Agree With what Your Saying Completely, but In My Video I'm Not Defending Batman Using a Gun at all I was saying is that I still enjoy the 2 Burton Films, I also think that it is Very Stupid when people use the Gun Excuse to Defined him Killing on Film, That is a Stupid Excuse I did not even mention a Gun in my Video the Only Reason I Defend the First 2 Film's is because I Loved them as a Child

Not really. It is one of the most basic elements of Batman. HE DOES NOT KILL. To have him do it so carelessly just enforces the idea more so that it's not aBatman movie

True, the heroes always escilated - while villains, on the other hand, were always psychologically different even before they were villains. For example, Dr. Jonathan Crane was always obessed with Fear before becoming Scarecrow, and Riddler always loved puzzles before dawning the question mark. Agree?
Well the Riddler there's a origin that I really like (not sure what comci it's from). Where his puzzles are actually a cumpolsion to admit sin. Because when he was a child he lied to his dad about doing something bad (I don't rememebr what) and he beat the hell out of him. So the Riddler is psycologically compelled to tell people his sins. But he does it in a way that it's not obvious.
I didn't think there is a problem with Batman killing people in the Tim Burton movie. When they began filming, they wanted to go back right to the beginning and basically a Batman movie based on his appearances in 1939. If they wanted to make a movie based on modern Batman, he wouldn't have killed. But they weren't doing a modern Batman, they were doing a 1939 Batman movie.
If that was true then Batman would cary a gun. Wouldn't have his gadgets or a Batmobile. And the Joker would be a serial killer. Also Alfred wouldn't be there.
i agree it is a stupid argument. the only real argument to protect tim burtons batman is that it is a bad batman adaption but maybe it is a good movie. and theme song is great.
