Both our malamutes howled at passing fire engines and ambulances. We live a few blocks away from a fire station so it was a regular occurrence. Often when walking Rosie a fire engine would pass, she would start howling. The engine would slow down, and the firemen smile and wave as they sped on to their destination. She put many a smile into peoples hearts including ours. Thank you all for your loving comments.

So sorry for your loss. Mals are truly the most friendly and affectionate of all of the dogs that I have been an owner to.

Our 1st Mal belonged to a friend who passed away, and I was the only one who would take Dioge in.

She lived to be 15 years and 1 week.

Drove 600 miles to adopt another Mal named Babie.

Akita's....Wierd dogs....My friends Akita hates all dogs, is constantly attacking other dogs on the block, bites women and hates any sudden movements. He bit my friends girlfriend pretty bad.

well the owner must of trained it badly cuz my mate had a akita and it doesnt bit unless u tell it to and the dog loves me cuz i use to take it out feed it i looked after it for like 30 days annd it also listened to me so deppends on how u treat a dog it and deppends on the owner and reactions on the owner u should control the dog not the dog control u

Actually, "husky" is a broad term that includes many sled dog breeds. Correct, an Alaskan Malamute is not a Siberian Husky, but it is a husky.
