  • How's the progress...? Can't wait any longer... ;)

  • Awesome Music and you should add a first person option in the game

  • Hey can I make this for 360?

  • that's one big ass map ;)

    congrats

  • erm... looks good just the controls look a bit too sensitive, i may be wrong but it may cause oversteer like in wipeout

  • too much flickering.

  • Hey, great work! The one thing that stands out like a sore thumb, for me anyways, is that is no spray/splashing/waves when you hove above water. In real life, the thrust pushing down from the craft would kick up the water.

    Thanks,

    MTracer.

  • i want to play this game now! lol

  • holy cow! this looks awesome! For what system is it coming out? i hope 4 pc!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, I think youve have added dust by now, but it should interact with the water and perhaps debris, so it looks it has force behind it.

  • aaaaah... yes! looks very promising. don't stop that work, please! don't forget to add a cockpit view and a 1st person view. wipeout, 2097 and wip3out were great. but they have failed with the versions that came for PS2 and 3. they're too bloated. weapons like in wipeout ain't necessary. please focus on great controls and good physics. and more precipitous walls please. can't wait to play that game... i really hope you're creating an awesome game! good luck...

  • it looks grest, some times too sloww for me.

I would suggest smoke trail due to the reactor wind ...

    jus tthis

  • looks like a slower whipeout :O

  • Looks like wipeout. Its good

  • very very nice ::)

whats the name of the song?

  • is ogre3d a game engine or animation, cuz im looking for an engine better than Darkbasic

  • Ogre3d is just a rendering engine, To implement other aspects such as physics, You have to either do it yourself, or you can use the wrapper libarys specificly made for ogre. I moved from darkbasic pro about 1.5 years back, Never looked back since.

  • but i have to learn a brand new language dont i?

  • Indeed you do, C++ is the language ogre3d is writtern in, there are wrappers for C#, python and others. Just like shader languages tho, Many people think that the learning curve outweighs the advantages gained in performance, But i remember deferred shading running at a maximum of 100ishfps on my OC'ed 8800GTS, But on ogre it runs at 800FPS!

  • i thought so, damn thats a pain lol, but damn that seems good to me, you think you could tell me where i could start learning C++?.....plz? lol

  • zomg, C++ is a computer language?? like a script?:?

  • jesus christ.. do you people ever search ? You are on the freaking internet how the hell is it hard to google C++; No reason to ask where you can learn it because it is .. everywhere. Run into your local library and I bet there is a book about C++

  • @MarijnStevens good lord sorry, i just never heard of it b4... calm down

  • @MarijnStevens get a life you computer nerd, this is a video about a game not just the engine or whatever the fuck c++ is

  • @InsanePickle007 script? its a very popular and multi-purpose object-oriented programming language, able to create from the simplest program to the most complex game.

  • Ogre3D is a graphics rendering engine. Not a full game engine. Darkbasic is also a programming language, not an engine. Ogre3D would be better because of it using C++.

  • rendering engine / game engine.

  • :o

    .

  • very very nice... great job!

  • Incredible

  • Very nice environment.

  • remember gears of war the scenario

  • how do you get the vehicle to hover

  • really amazing. keep up the great work!

  • Hi! I noticed the environment shadows are loaded pretty late on (same time you switch to finer detail, I guess). Do you plan on changing that, or does it take up too much resources to see the shadows from bigger distances? What type of shadows are those? Regardless, impressive work Liquid Rock!

  • Hi ninanotturna, the shadows is currently set to near rendering distance and lower quality. However players can render all shadows with maximum quality if they wish to do so depending on their video card.

  • holly s**t! Impressive work! Ok.. back to work now, you've inspired me ;)

  • this is really cool, but it'salot like wipeout pure

  • Really impressive. I like the bloom effects

  • Aww, that's sexy :) good luck!

  • That's a pretty good looking game there. I like it. It makes me want to make a racing game of my own. Cool! :)

  • Also, how long did it take to make it up to this point?

  • Comment removed

  • This looks really cool! One thing I am curious about: how is the track dynamically loaded? How many objects is it split up into?

  • It is outstanding, very very professional!!! Keeep it up!!!!!!!!

  • great stuff . but which game engine are you using for this video game

  • We used Ogre3d as our rendering engine and built our own game engine around it.

  • ogre3d

  • is ogre3d a free software or u need to pay

  • It's open source, so not a penny to pay.

  • this is Blender3d

  • looks pretty decent so far, might I make a suggestion though? Your tracks are too close together if you're planning on having any more than 2 cars racing at one time. There is not much space to pass. Looks fantastic this early on though!

  • Hi Eastsidedeli, we will be having wide tracks in the future depending on the environment. The road track at this moment looks slightly narrow due to the camera height and angle but it fits 5 crafts arranged side by side.

  • It must have taken ages to model and texture that level, Great Job!!

  • just outstanding! what about some tutorials? a making of?

  • wicked sick!

  • Fantastic job!

    Modeling texturing are wonderful!

    Must be played.

  • Great work !!!graphics + world design remembers me the best game ever: half life 2 !

  • Hi I dont speak spanish but heres a shot.

@williamsantacruz: Hola allí agregaremos definitivamente efectos especiales cuando trabajamos en el arte pronto:)

  • wow blender? lol jks i know the power of blender and its pretty awesome

  • As I can post a comment... Outstanding graphics and smooth flow, but don't forget the control, it seems unplayably difficult.

  • Great job guys! :) I'm an open source game dev using blender/gimp as well.

  • holy moly! its so smooth, i love the setting and vehicle! cant wait to play it

  • This is incredible! I can't believe Blender and GIMP were used for this project, that's so awesome!

Too bad my computer can't handle this game... Or Youtube's HD player... Grrr...

  • Like Wipeout 2097

    I like it.

  • we want guns! graphics are awesome!

  • Wow this is amazing. What date do you think you will put the demo up on blender nation?

  • Wow, looks stunning! Will it have split-screen multiplayer on one computer? That would be great.

  • Wow! That looks crazy fun. I really like the atmosphere you've built. But one thing bugs me: This futuristic racing vehicle made completely out of awesome doesn't get a chance to fly very often. Are you going to have bumps and jumps, or are you more concerned about speed and maneuvering?

  • excelente, aunque seria bueno que le pusieran particulas para simular los cohetes de propulsion.

  • Level design is amazing

I'm very interested in the background this game

could make the level design information please?

  • Hi aarreessppllaann, the level design was created using our own level editor which is still very crude and in its early stages of development but it allows us to iterate and test different track designs quickly without redoing the artwork.

  • Great work! Now you should do some particles. Like some fire coming out of the back, or do something with damage that you can see things crumble and little pieces fly away or ripped away by the speed.

  • Thanks sjoerdkoala12, the effects mentioned will definitely be in once we've finalized this level for you guys to test it out when we release the demo. :)

  • This will be commercial right? So are U planning to release Linux client?

  • Yes ubuntu1997 this will be a commercial game and we have plans to release it for linux as well. :)

  • oh and there are plans for the mac port as well.

  • I'm impressed! Keep up the great work!

  • Wow, looks great!

But... is it just me or it looks a lot like Unreal engine v3?

  • Lol thanks wolf, but no its not the Unreal engine v3. We're using an open source rendering engine for this game called Ogre3d.

  • Yes, I've read it around the web... impressive... at first I thought it was a total conversion for UT3 for the Unreal Make Something Contest 2009!

I'm amazed to see how far you've pushed the Ogre engine!

    ...and it's just a WIP!

  • wow

  • This looks really good. I think you should add a F-Zero X (or GX) style boost button, I think that would work nicely in this game.

  • Hi machriderx, one of the main features for this game is allowing the player to control their craft's power output and boost its speed.

  • awsome...keep the updates coming !

  • Nice work man :-)

  • Keep up the good work , great track environnement : will keep an eye on that cool project

  • Wow!! already looks like a AAA title. Nice quality!! Try putting the weapon element from the movie Death race. It can be a kick ass game.

  • Hi Yuzrass, there will be weapons just like the movie Death race. Will be including 2 of them when we release the playable demo online.

  • This is looking amazing!

  • Thanks. :) We just hope to get up to acceptable quality for gamers. We will definitely have weapons which should be used strategically with your other team members. >:)

  • Wow increadable.

Looks better than a lot of pro games out there. The vehicle physics are perfect.

Are weapons going to be involved?

  • Lol the title is just the description of the video encoding. Its a sci-fi racing game in the works by a couple of guys just my friend and I and this vid is just a preview of the level work in progress. No gameplay elements yet.

  • What do you think RknapZ ? It's called "Aftershock H264 1280 10000kbps".

    The game is obviously Aftershock.

  • Whoa, What game is this?
