I personally think that this dragon, and the current dragon at WDW are definitely scarier and creepier than Murphy. Murphy is obviously bigger though!
actually I just went to california and florida, and personally, the new one freaked me out. I like the wings on this one better, but the new one is much bigger and more realistic. I still loved this one too though
@SxyChicDisney I know what you mean, the new one is scary! But the older version and current version at WDW was a lot more edgier, darker, and creepier. So I guess you can say that both versions of the dragon are scary, and that the newer dragon kicks ass, but TBH, I actually prefer the older version. Something about it. Lol Idk.
What I love about Disney is that this dragon impressed everyone and then they went above and beyond to make it even BETTER. I love Fantasmic and the dragon was always my favorite part!

the wings on murphy match the MOVIE!! just look at the animation immediately prior- the new dragon is ENDLESSLY better! (although you can never outdo an original, i'm just sayin'.... murphy ROCKS!)
The old dragon actually scares me more than the new one does. It's bigger and darker... But it's also a skeleton covered in cloth. The new ones fire blowingness makes it scary and I like how it has a full body.... But it's just not a scary as the old one :(

The first time I say fantasmic, I was 6, she just kinda gave me the creeps when threw her flare on the canal. The second time I saw fantasmic, Vivan "chickened out" and was seen, before the wall of water, "cowering in her cave". (Specifically, she either blew a fuse or got stuck on her way of her trapdoor. I caught it on camera. You can see the shadow of her head.

Murphy took a nose dive about 5 days ago. Fell foward on her nose and stayed like that the rest of the night. Wonder if they'll bring her back. Atleast bucky never broke down. . . I think.
@SxyChicDisney from how I understand it, the dragon itself did not break but rather the support foundation/structure failed which caused it to tip over during the show. The show had to be e-stopped. There's a big thread about it at MiceChat.com. Check it out. Too bad though, almost made it to her first bday. Now it looks like she'll be out for a few months now, maybe even until Christmas. Glad I saw her this July though :-(

yeah this video is from 2002...on our OLD video camera. i have better ones, but theyre from a newer camera and it wont let me put it on unless i put our whole trip on. its very frustrating

I miss how the old dragon died with the electricity going through its neck. Used to scare me and excite me as a kid! Love it!!! I still get chills whenever I watch this.
the new dragon in fantasmic is so much better than this one. the old one always kind of reminded of those chinese dragons that looked kind of like a large puppet.

I'm pretty sure that the old one has more mobility because it's not the full-bodied dragon. It's lighter weight.
The new is /is/ full-bodied and looks just like Maleficent did as a dragon. They both have some great points.
