+/- is a ridiculously bad stat for rating defensemen. Obviously Green would have a high +/- because he's a high scoring defenseman on a high scoring Caps team. +/- is more of a team stat than an individual one, since he gains the benefits of having AO on his team.

Green is a fantastic offensive defenseman, but you can't even compare him to Bobby Orr. Orr was perhaps the best offensive defenseman of all time and he was no slouch on defense.

Orr doesn't get as much credit as he might since his career was so short. I'm convinced that if his career had been as long as those of Lidstrom or Bourque, that he'd easily be recognized as best all-time. Regardless, those guys are my top-3 for NHL defensemen.
