There are various enthusiastic scholars of Christianity who is dying to prove that and they indeed try to come up with some proofs. But the sad in the story is that there always better and far more learned ones to disprove their biased findings.

@islomhaq There are sources outside of the Bible which also proves the events of Christ's crucifixion. also the most liberal scholars find it to be indisputable facts. yet the Qu'ran fatally claims that Christ's crucifixion didn't take place but the Qu'ran was written 600 years after his existence by men who lived hundreds miles away from Jerusalem. I would much rather believe the New Testament then what was written hundreds of years later.

@selious04 I understand. But all these verses either have other verses contradicting them or mistranslated, thus they can be interpreted differently. Which is why one cannot put his trust on them and make such a decision about worshiping God. It is not a joke. One cannot risk his eternal future for a few verses, which are clearly dubious.

I know Jesus also said, no one ever saw the Father.

God's word can become anything, meaning, God creates by simply saying "Be!". That word became Jesus.

John 1:1 is not an exception. No matter how hard they try, this verse being the only hope for Trinity is also dubious. In fact, Jehova's witnesses got the translation right. It is well debated and I believe the honest translation to be:

In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was a god.

@islomhaq First of all that makes NO sense. Second, finish the chapter. Dont take ONE verse to base your argument.: "The SAME was in the beginning WITH God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not...." "Before Abraham was I AM" "You will die in your sins if you do not believe I AM He" This is just a couple of verse from the Gospel of John. There are hundreds more.

So, how much is it different from Christianity claiming he was such and such, and Islam telling the opposite? We are both talking about the issue, we have no proofs for. BUT, Islam teaches to respect Jesus, as well as other prophets. We must believe in his miraculous birth, in which many modern Anglican bishops don't believe.

In fact I only questioned the physical existence of Jesus fairly recently, living for many years with the certainty that he existed. What this stone tells us in not that he existed then, but what precise function he had, that of prefect and not procurator.

@Execrat Either erroneously Apocryphal, another person entirely or even a forgery. The office of procurator was institutionalised in Judea during the government reforms by Claudius who's reign lasted from 41 until 54 AD. This is well after the prefectship of Pilate.
