You should see our little town, the roads are so poorly constructed that you could literally replace your shocks every month. You are right, just go live near politicians and enjoy tax payer money. Most politicians are total crooks with their hidden agenda's. We have a stadium coming that 90% of our city doesn't want, but the idiot mayor pushed it through anyway. What a dick! His pockets are getting filled somehow you can believe that!

Brother miltown, you have to realize, if they actually make a good road, the construction workers will have less work! So they govt gives them crappy (yet sufficient) pay to make crappy roads that can be rebuilt in 1--3 years when they are done rebuilding other roads they failed on earlier. Its an endless cycle driven by government pseudo-economics.

you guys in the us are lucky, in th uk where i live our road uis so fucked, and it will get like 10 giant pot hole before the council come down and then the just klay down some sketch ass patch over each one and leave it, there is grit all over our road from the pot holes and there isnt and grass to be seen anywhere. and we have had several campain groups to build a skatepark and each time loads of the community are up for it, then literally 2-3 people dont like the idea of it so they say no

Where I'm going to college they have been doing construction ever since I've gotten here. Seems like their just giving people something to do, honestly. most sections of local authorities get given a budget to spend in a certain amount of time. if they do not spend there given budget it is returned to the govornment. this means at certain points they just want to spend the rest of there allocated cash, without proper consideration or thought.

When discussing a topic that will be highly emotional for a lot of people, it's a good idea to read as much as you can about EVERY viewpoint (every "general" one if you know what I mean). They you can construct your message around those various viewpoints and try your best not to step on a landmine. ;)
