On Thanksgiving the 24th will mark the 20th anniversary of Erics passing. Please, to honor this kind and gentle soul, please light a candle on that day. RIP Eric. We will remember
haha, "cool man, great soundcheck - i'm gonna go back to the hotel though, my chest is really sore ... augh why is it so sore, maybe I should see a doctor"
ive been drumming for 13 years & i can honestly say..eric carr is one of the biggest influences i have for drums its like ever since ive known who he was theres been a certian push somewhere to try & do some of the stuff carr did & to be a better drummer..but so far i find it impossible to be a god at drumming lol
you like Paul, PEOPLE???!!!! come and see my tribute to the ULTIMATE FRONTMAN... right here on YouTube... just type in "Pal Stanley's Rock Show" and look for 1 of 4 episodes which is my tribute to the master himself. You can "friend" me on Facebook too, PEOPLE. Just look up "Pal Stanley" and I'll see you all out there! I CAN'T HEE YAH, PEOPLE!!!!!!
I grew up on KISS and Peter Criss was the reason that I wanted to learn to play the drums. I was 7 yrs old. Eric helped me see the difference between playing the drums and being a GOOD drummer. Peter criss can play the drums but he isnt a GOOD drummer. Now compare his drumming to his drumming peers of the 70's. He's NOT EVEN CLOSE IN SKILL LEVEL! He was in the right place at the right time. He added NOTHING worth a crap to KISS and his solo career has shown his REAL worth in the music buisness.
Man, I wish he'd played a proper beat or something in this clip. This was during the short period of time when he used black Paiste Colorsound cymbals.. would've love to hear what they sounded like!
It look's like Eric Singer, hair is too short though. As for Gene's assistant that was Tommy Thayer, who replaced Ace Frehley in 2003. Tommy also helped write a few tracks on the H.I.T.S. album.
@JoePennDrums Actually...I heard Tommy started replacing Ace a lot sooner than that. Ace didn't show up for a show in Jamaica on the Psycho Circus tour. Toomy's been doing it ever since.
Met him walking into a Rolling Stones concert at Shea Stadium in 1989. Nice guy. Probably the most underated drummer during his time. Tommy Lee? please, Way better drummer than any of the poser LA Girl shit from the 80's.
haven't you heard lately that kiss is back in the studio at the beginning of the next year? paul mentioned it on an interview that they will be working on a new album and release it just before they continue the alive 35 tour this summer. this is gonna be a good oppurtunity for thayer to show his mettle ;). i know what did piss me off though, was electing to wear the destroyer outfits for the 35 tour. i associated those costumes w/the original lineup. they shoulda kept the alive era outfits.
wow really i didnt no they were back in the studio?Becuz gene said that they wouldnt during the alive 35 but hey i things change.and yea about time thayer is on an album
you know tommy was on Psycho Circus right? and before that, he helped produce carnival of souls? so he's been there since the early 90's as kind of an inside man, like the keyboard players they had in the 80's.
yeah, but you hafta remember, peter is also speaking bias. he got replaced twice, both times by more talented drummers. peter didn't have a problem with tommy until peter got kicked out again. If you actually watch tommy, then you know that tomy is actually much different than ace. the facial expressions, the movements; tommy is tommy. i'd rather see kiss in make-up, even if its not ace or peter. you dont need to be kiss out of the makeup to be a new kiss. the show is still worth the money.
lol, unfortunately i dissagree, i like the new line-up of kiss. i saw them in cadott last year and i was VERY impressed. i think tommy and eric singer are great. eric singer is a very good drummer and tommy stayed true to ace's licks but still kinda has a bit heavier vibe, it'd be nice if tommy's leash was loosened. i really don't mind them wearing the make-up either. it's just a uniform, ya know. but , think if eric carr wouldn't have died so early.. there might not have been a reunion tour.
seriously, think about it for a sec. dude, it's a damn shame that anyone born after 1990 doesn't get to see him. i was born 2 months before his death, which is bogus. i see a bunch of these old recordings and see/hear his incredible skills, but i'll never get to ee first-hand. its a damn shame.
eric carr DID hav the best life ever i mean come on KISS was his first band he has ever been in and i think when its your time its your time nothing u can do about it
hes so awsome and him being so down to earth and to see his passion for the drums it wasnt a job he loved playing the drums and thats what got me in to drumming ill allways be greatfull to sir eric carr
I'm very thankful to have witnessed Eric in all his glory on the Unmasked tour. It was my very first KISS concert and it was in Sydney at the Showground, what a mind blowing night it was ;)
Miss you fox! =(
