I am shortboarder but prefer to ride retro boards, i respect how much skill you need to ride a longboard because i only ride a retro board because its still nice and smooth, but doesnt cost too much and is easy to get around
I ride shortboards, but I appreciate that you need quite a lot of skill to ride a longboard with style. They're almost like two totally different sports....no reason to argue about which is better.... look at "Another State of Mind" for some mind blowing longboarding
Finally a shortboard that recognizes that, I get yelled at nonstop because I'm catching waves on shitty days and these people decide, hey im not getting any waves...time to yell...
Longboarder for life here. Shortboards are for kids and those that believe they have to show off to have a good time. Just give me a longboard, nice smooth waves and I will have a great time!
im 15 and pretty much the only longboarder of my age lol, i dont get y shortboarding is so publicized. i dont mind if i ever learn a snap turn as long as i can have fun on my 9'0"
To me longboards are the only "surfboards." This other stuff people ride are basically skateboards without wheels. Good for tricks/kicks, but does not give one the classic smooth ride. Plus on a longboard if you get tired or no waves just lay down, relax and let the water sooth your soul while catching some rays -cant do that on a "skateboard."
i have fun on a 9'0 too...but once u get good u cant progress anymore...thats what shortboards are for progression...and believe me landing you first snap turn is not only harder but much more rewarding than a long noseride
???? longboards are not for beginners/progressing, longboarding is a style of its own. most beginners start with mals or even mini-mals and progress to shortboards. how can a snapturn be more rewarding than a noseride?? its two completely different things!
Well based on your question Im guna assume you have never done a snap turn...as someone who has done extremely amazing feeling long noserides and a few board sliping out spraying snap turns I can assue you its not only much harder but feels sooo good...its like a mini orgasm...a noseride is well...fun

I love longboarding. Live in Cornwall, ride a 9'2, have a cat and own a shitty car. Couldn't be happier.

Longboarding in this manner is a crime!
The donk like LifesaGardenDigit1 needs to lose 30LBS's so he can ride something besides a 9'foot plus board... wake up and smell the 21st Century...
