Keeping God's commandments is a part of salvation, but keeping God's commandments doesn't bring salvation. Because I am saved and love my Savior, I will keep His commandments, because that's what He told me to do. It's that simple.

If the bible establishes the truth, it should be established on the grounds of it's inspired authority and not on the basis of the messenger's experience. If victory over all sin is possible through Christ, it is true, whether the preacher has claimed it or not. Further, the work of sanctification is a progressive, lifelong experience and can never be considered as finished in point of time. Even if one can be unconscious of any known sin, he can never boast of being sinless.
Jehovah is very particular regarding in the way we humans worship Him. Culture is set aside when it comes to true worship, remember Cain and Abel? Revelation 13 deals with 2 kinds of worship the true and the false..... We r not to imitate the churches of Christendom, we are Seventh day Adventist.
@Asoldier1844 Well, I wasn't around when Christ was on this planet otherwise I would ask him directly but I am there when we offer up our worship and I know when the Spirit moves and when He doesn't. Trust me, I've been in worship services where I get the wrong spirit and I will leave. But for you to watch a video and put down the praise of people you know nothing about is very sad.

You do realize that there are over 6 billion people on this planet and that every culture, every nation, even different cities have their own valid "heritage" when it comes to doing everything, especially worshiping the Almighty.
I am all the way in Taiwan where the Adventist church membership is at 5000 out of 23 million people. I never see gospel style worship like this in Taiwan, not even in the English churches.

Hi, i am an ex Catholic. I really like the way SDA eat, i love animals & I can not stand other churches treating God's creatures like that & turning the blind eye on their suffering. Im going to join the SDA even though they do it for their body still i think is the right path. I just think, if I ask God for mercy & compassion, why can't i give the same to other God's creatures? so i am so excited i will go to church in couple of hours for first time & they will even have a potluck after that :D

The purpose of worship is not to be entertained, but that the voices of every church member is heard. With that in mind, our goal should be to involve as many people as possible to the worship. Some instruments tend to drown the singing of the crowd.
chem71, times have changed. The young people have their own styles of worship now. God still remains but his message always comes in a lot of flavous. But then it comes down to whos playing the instruments aye.
There was no drums, not allowed. Electric guitars seem to be accepted so I got my 100W 2x12 amp and caned it with no mercy. Unfortunately the choir could not be heard. Oh well we live and learn. We are getting electronic drums soon because you can hit as hard as you can and because the volume knob is low so NOT loud.

I don't see how anyone can say the law is still in effect when they read Col. 2:14 they will see for themselves that it says Christ canceled the written code and nailed it too the cross. They can find the exacting wording the KVJ1611, KVJ, NKJV, NIV, NASB, Amp, NLT, ASV, HCSB, DARBY, NIRV, TLB, TNIV. For some reason sda(satan decieved alliance i call them) don't see it yet the exact wording is found in so many translations.
I think you will find that SDA's are not the only church to believe this. Most churchs do, that is why killing is still not OK. In factr all of the commandments still stand apart from the 4th. Can you explain this?

COL 2:14 refers to the mosaic law meaning moses law. Under moses law, all was a debtor to God but because the Son of God came and bought us with a price through his death, we are under God's Law which are the Commandments. We no longer have to die , nor kill innocent animals for our sins. Moses law was a requirement in order to live. God's law is a joy to keep for those who love him, not for those who follow the enemy. He made a public spectacle of satan, by nailing moses law at the cross.

The SDA Church made this statement in their Ministry magazine of October 1981, "We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality. how can one be in that so called church when they make a statement like that. i know if it was my religion that stated that i would be gone in a heartbeat.
The reason why this statement was made is because both the Bible and The EGW writings were written by people inspired by the Holy Spirit. As God spoke, they wrote. This is why they both weigh in equally.

Although her writtings are Holy Spirit Inspired, she herself calls herself the lesser light, and points to the bible as the greater light. C7, Western Christians in totality have always supported Israel. Your guess is as good as mine as to why, but it is not just SDA. I believe it is done so by most due to Israel's bloodline bringing us Jesus, even though they don't acknowledge him in any way.

Like I said, "When you're right, you're right!" I normally try to stay objective. Sometimes I take the opposite stand, like in this case. I assumed that Sunday was the correct day, then I researched to see if I could find anything wrong with my story. There was a lot wrong with a 1st day of the week Sabbath. Thanks for the invite. @BelieveandtrustJesus Um, no, that's totally not true. Actually, I'm sure every denomination has individuals who believe in salvation by works, but it doesn't mean the whole church does. The fact that you say "just like the Jewish pharisees" almost validates the SDA church, because the Jews were in fact the true church at the time. But there were Pharisees among them. Doesn't mean the entire Jewish population were Pharisees, does it?

If the bible establishes the truth, it should be established on the grounds of it's inspired authority and not on the basis of the messenger's experience. If victory over all sin is possible through Christ, it is true, whether the preacher has claimed it or not. Further, the work of sanctification is a progressive, lifelong experience and can never be considered as finished in point of time. Even if one can be unconscious of any known sin, he can never boast of being sinless.

@Asoldier1844 Well, I wasn't around when Christ was on this planet otherwise I would ask him directly but I am there when we offer up our worship and I know when the Spirit moves and when He doesn't. Trust me, I've been in worship services where I get the wrong spirit and I will leave. But for you to watch a video and put down the praise of people you know nothing about is very sad.

Hi, i am an ex Catholic. I really like the way SDA eat, i love animals & I can not stand other churches treating God's creatures like that & turning the blind eye on their suffering. Im going to join the SDA even though they do it for their body still i think is the right path. I just think, if I ask God for mercy & compassion, why can't i give the same to other God's creatures? so i am so excited i will go to church in couple of hours for first time & they will even have a potluck after that :D

The ten commandements doesn't say'Jewish people- remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy....It says' remember the Sabbath day; meaning it was given to ALL people. It's Gods commandment; like the other 9, which are not to be broken and foresaken, PERIOD.

The purpose of worship is not to be entertained, but that the voices of every church member is heard. With that in mind, our goal should be to involve as many people as possible to the worship. Some instruments tend to drown the singing of the crowd.

There was no drums, not allowed. Electric guitars seem to be accepted so I got my 100W 2x12 amp and caned it with no mercy. Unfortunately the choir could not be heard. Oh well we live and learn. We are getting electronic drums soon because you can hit as hard as you can and because the volume knob is low so NOT loud.

Nice to see good talent used for the Lord! As a 4th generation SDA I find it sad to read all of the junk in the comments. There is no need to argue IF one can't test that argument from the straight testimony of Jesus given to us by His eyewitnesses (John 14:26) EGW is NOT the same as SDA! Get over it! Sure she was wrong (p.433 Great Controversey) and fooled many ignorant SDA members--so what? Some day soon they will wake up and make a choice. Just keep searching for the truth!

I don't see how anyone can say the law is still in effect when they read Col. 2:14 they will see for themselves that it says Christ canceled the written code and nailed it too the cross. They can find the exacting wording the KVJ1611, KVJ, NKJV, NIV, NASB, Amp, NLT, ASV, HCSB, DARBY, NIRV, TLB, TNIV. For some reason sda(satan decieved alliance i call them) don't see it yet the exact wording is found in so many translations.

COL 2:14 refers to the mosaic law meaning moses law. Under moses law, all was a debtor to God but because the Son of God came and bought us with a price through his death, we are under God's Law which are the Commandments. We no longer have to die , nor kill innocent animals for our sins. Moses law was a requirement in order to live. God's law is a joy to keep for those who love him, not for those who follow the enemy. He made a public spectacle of satan, by nailing moses law at the cross.

Typical of SDA, and I should know. If it's controversial, ignore it! If it's overtly true, deny it, tell them they are of the devil, are gong to hell, and have lost their way! I wish humanity wasn't so predictable! BCRN! RESPECT TO YOU! Take being blocked with a grain of salt! Most former leaders of the SDA church, and all the way to the top were blocked in some way after they searched for the truth and spoke of things out of bounds when thinking of SDA doctrine! The SDA Church made this statement in their Ministry magazine of October 1981, "We believe the revelation and inspiration of both the Bible and Ellen White's writings to be of equal quality. how can one be in that so called church when they make a statement like that. i know if it was my religion that stated that i would be gone in a heartbeat.

Although her writtings are Holy Spirit Inspired, she herself calls herself the lesser light, and points to the bible as the greater light. There is none gr8tr than the bible, but the concept is this: If God spoke to her as he did the other prophets of old, then she too should be given the same consideration. Just as God speaks through different ppl today to fulfill his purpose.

I've got a book for citation whose name I do not remember. I will get that info and post it later. It will be a direct reference as opposed to googling (no offense). Although doing internet searches can be profitable, just b/c it's posted on the internet doesn't mean it's always correct. These sources may be drawing conclusions based on false information/propoganda, which would lead others into believing a lie.

I dont see what your point is about all sites critical of EGW having to be correct,as obviously as with any subject there will be varying amounts of accuracy.Also please do not insult my intellegence by sujesting I would believe anything posted on the interenet.I had these veiws concerning EGW and her posistion within SDA theology,long before the interenet was in wide use.The evedence is overwhelming that she was not being commuicated to by God.Her faied predictions are testimony to that fact.

Bear in mind that these doctrines are extremely deep and cannot be easily understood. More importantly, they cannot be understood without the direct leading of the Holy Spirit.
Trust me, as outlandish as it may seem, the "ordinary" teachings mainstream Christianity in and of itself can also be viewed the same way depending on how you look at it.

I really don't care to debate the doctrines of the SDA church with you here but the bottom line is that we don't have to do anything to be saved. Jesus did it all and He already paid the price for us!
That doesn't mean that what is going on around us can be explained so easily, as you mentioned. Understanding the way to salvation (Christ) and understanding all of the scriptures are two completely different things...LOL.

Lip-service is all the SDAs have when it comes to grace. (Signs Suppl., "What Bible Says About Sabbath" pg29) Here they say, "Sabbath rest is a SYMBOL of the rest of faith." Odd they cannot bring themselves to use the more biblical term "SHADOW" -- Horrors if anyone should connect that truth with Col. 2:16!

C7, Western Christians in totality have always supported Israel. Your guess is as good as mine as to why, but it is not just SDA. I believe it is done so by most due to Israel's bloodline bringing us Jesus, even though they don't acknowledge him in any way.

I'm not an SDA and I'm not black, but every once in a while, when your right, your right! I believe that God said the 7th day and not the 1st, and I can find no biblical authority for changing it........Anybody?....anyone at all....

Like I said, "When you're right, you're right!" I normally try to stay objective. Sometimes I take the opposite stand, like in this case. I assumed that Sunday was the correct day, then I researched to see if I could find anything wrong with my story. There was a lot wrong with a 1st day of the week Sabbath. Thanks for the invite.
