2:25 take a look at how hes doing it mid speed and it not what he showed exactly he play 7-9-10 (14-16)Tapped on the A string and on the D string hes doing 9-11 (14-16)tapped he only switch the 5s and 4s groupes
Starting playing 2 years ago, picked up a guitar with no musical background, my school doesn't even teach music, looked for a music teacher but decided that it's not neccesary to waste money on that, i want to be a musician but schools like MI or GIT don't seem like my cup of tea.
I like how in the description he's like it looks harder than it is but its really fun. Then he explains and it and your just like yeah everything easier than it seems when your a god
What the government doesn't want you to know is that Bin Laden wasn't killed by the Navy Seals Team Six, but rather Tobin Abasi's nasty tapping riffs.
Anyone notice that he says to hammer 7th to 9th fret on the A string but he does 7, 9, and 10? also when he says to hammer 9, 11, and 12 on the D string he only hammers 9 and 11..... which is it? compare the lesson to when he plays the whole thing towards the end to see.
how in the name of all things shiny does he see all these patterns to write these riffs... Hendrix had acid induced synaesthesia... Satriani uses his bald head to pick up alien transmissions... and Santana is what happens when you mix beefy slinky's,sex, funk and jalapeños in a Petri dish.. but what's his magic?
there's knowing music then there's this eargasmic assault.
my ipod is so used to playing AAL tracks they make up all 50 of my top 50 most played... and I only have 10 tracks. :)
@TheOne2watch13 Didn't you ever learn that Tosin is really NASA's top secret new scientist? This is really part of a great scientific project that will impact on all our lives, with all of the equations in music form for simplicity's sake.
I just wonder when it's gonna be not so sloppy, go ahead and talk shit to me, but you know if you play that's not clean, I'm not tripping I'm just saying, it would be waaaaay more destructive cleaner.
@WeveGotNoTimeToLose It isn't that sloppy anymore when he plays it. They just toured with Underoath, and he play his material very well, something he wasnt able to do early on
Actually, technically Tosin has surpassed Petrucci. What Petrucci is stronger at though is consistency, Petrucci is almost NEVER sloppy or makes mistakes, I've heard Tosin make quite quite a couple of mistakes, but the stuff he comes up with is just insane. The intro sweep to CAFO, the completely insane clean parts on On Impulse, the tempos in Tempting Time, it's just so original and crazy.
You can't say one of them is better than the other, they are equals.
@elwoodj61 Well the only reason I would think otherwise is that I don't see how he could control it. It only has one mini toggle switch (electric, both, acoustic) and one extra knob (acoustic volume). So how does he turn on the midi synth?
@GuillermoSmyser I read in an article somewhere he has a footboard that controls his amplifier setup, which is all digital. So the synth is probably on there.
today, i showed this band to a music teacher. He had nothing but great things to say. I showed it then, to an english teacher who had nothing but bad to say. iviaverick52 10 months ago
@iviaverick52 i figured it out by ear recently (pretty easy cos no other instruments are playing) and on the cd version it goes like this:
B string - (5,7,12,14)
D string - (9,11,12,14,16)
A string - (7,9,10,14,16)
D string - (9,11,14,16)
G string - (9,11,12,16,18)
B string - (12,14,15,17,19)
E string - (12,14,15,21)
so its 4, 5, 5, 4, 5, 5, 4
