@HelloFade2 true. even though there was a couple of movies which had jackie including Cannonball run II in the US, he wasn't well known until Rumble in the Bronx was released in 1996.
6:35 - "WHAT! The foolish hero has found a secret passage to elude my Ninja Ice Demons?! *snarl* No worry. I have a plan... *cackles* RELEASE THE FIELD MICE! BWHAHAHAHAHAAAA!"
The music on this game needs to be able to be downloaded. I loved this game as a kid, and had it as a ROM on my PSP, unfortunately, can't seem to get a PSP with a version early enough to do it again. Sucks, but I definately want the music from this.
Yes, "mari". Even as a kid, I knew this was just some sort of cheap modification and that this wasn't a REAL mario game, so I never knew what it was truly based on. I seriously doubt I could've enjoyed it as much if I knew it was just a license game meant to advertise a Hong Kong actor. It was a brilliant platformer, most likely ignored for being based on a retarded license.
I actually had this as a kid on a bootlegged NES, in a bootleg cheap plastic cartridge. It was actually modded to look like Mario's the main character and the title was edited to "Kung Fu Mari".
I have this but instead of jackie chan it is Mario,my brother owned this game back in the 90's,he saw it a mario game and bought it,i still have the cartridge,i seen a Hulk one too
Oh man! Brings back memories this game does! They don't make'em like this anymore! It may be 8-bit, but the fun factor is equal or higher than many games today.
This game IS a ton of fun. It's one of those small NES secrets, like also Crystalis, with graphics, gameplay, music and overal charm to rival the known greats like Zelda, Mario etc. etc.

Check out Zophar's website. Pretty sure you can download the music in an nsf there, as well as a winamp plugin or whatever you need to play it.

Jackie on the title screen -- was this game about a different, much older, retarded Jackie Chan than the one we know in the U.S.?
rat4cooler 2 years ago
This game was made before Jackie Chan became a movie star in America and when he was a huge star in Japan, China and all those little countries.
Although I gotta say the older Jackie was better than this new one.

That was a special projectile move that can be done. The 5 red dots on the bottom-right show their icons.
