He hasn't had enough time to adapt to such a radical change in his life - coming out and having a boyfriend. Stating that you're going out with someone of the same sex is incredibly difficult, even more so infront of dozens of cameras. And it's not a life style or a life choice, being gay is a sexual orientation, like being bi, straight, ec.
