@TheoWalcott20 Folder startup is for what reason? All you need to do is update game to latest version, and then using LAN or a VPN program, your AOE1 will show your VPN address.

guys I'm having trouble with age of empires 2 lan. it only shows the hosted game rarely and when ever i do find it, when ever we click begin game, it loads for a second and both computers close saying windows has found a an error with the game and it must automatically close... y does that happen? and will tungle fix it?

AoE2: When I click on multiplayer, no connection types shows up in the list where TCP/IP should be listed. It just a plain empty field with no options (under Connection Types, that is..) Do you know why this happens? I have port forwarded all thinkable services related to DirectPlay and AoE.. Changing compability mode doesnt seem to work either.

Same problems occur on legal and illegal copies.. running 1.0c. W7 x64.

@mermer044 What game? If its real Internal LAN, you can skip the whole tunngle thing. It's not required. If your home network is setup right, then use ipconfig to get your IP, then connect from there. -Versatile

@mermer044 AOE1 , 2, or 3? If using tunngle lan, make sure you use a different tunngle port for each pc, and make sure its port forwarded. In my house I have 3 pcs, so i use udp 11155, udp 11160, and udp 11170. -Versatile

aoe 3 is a piece of shit, we tried to play with it, we did the override, but that shit didn't saw any games vice versa, while we could play c&c generals, on the networks, and other games.

Try spending 20 hours with a friend trying to get PES 2009 LAN to work, a game that has no LAN, and trying to find patches that are impossible to find nowadays. All previous tutorials was in spanish, and the developer of the LAN emulator disappeared. Somehow, through mad persistence, we got it working. That my friend was hell and I will never ever touch PES ever again. AOE3 is the not the worst.
