I do love what Ed is doing. But lets be real. It cost a lot of money, which he earned from making movies, that were produced in a far far from energy efficient or ecofriendly way, plus shown to people in theaters, on dvd, etc, in ways far from eco friendly.

So all together, the total is probably still a negative impact on earth.

Of course, an important factor not accounted for in that, is that as a celebrity, he does help spread the word and getting people to do the same.
