  • this is a problem. I applaud your condemnations of harassment and personal attacks on GLBTQ people, but CUA has the right as a private religious institution, to express their opinion and regulate that same institution by that opinion. Catholic teaching is clear that homosexuality is disordered according to the natural law. I don't understand, if this is a problem why spend money and support them. There are other universities. If we throw out religious freedom and autonomy, we become monsters.

  • @jonny55987 The USCCB says "The teachings of the Church make it clear that the fundamental human rights of homosexual persons must be defended and that all of us must strive to eliminate any forms of injustice, oppression, or violence against them (cf. The Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons, 1986, no. 10)."

It is not sufficient only to avoid unjust discrimination. Homosexual persons "must be accepted with respect, compassion and sensitivity" (Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2358).

  • Yes, I am in agreement with CCC 2358, however 2357, when speaking of homosexual activity, states, "Under no circumstances can they be approved." I am not saying that GLBTQ people are to be marginalized, however as a Roman Catholic institution, CUA can not give any platform or any form of approval to GLBTQ active lifestyles. This stems from the teaching that the inclination is "objectively disordered" (CCC 2358). I agree that GLBTQ people need to be respected, but approval is out of the question.

  • @martizzzle1 my apologies, I posted my response without your name linked. Please refer to the comments page of the video.
