Because I'm fairly sure all the money is in roping unsuspecting people into joining your "downline" , then selling them instructional material and reaping the bonuses from their sales. Exactly how does one create a residual income from a downline that has a proven attrition rate of 97% over a 5 year period? Ive done Amway, it is hard to sell these products, no one really wants them, or wants to bother with them. And then you have to sell them over and over again each month to the person. It did not work out too well for me. You say the IBO association has a 50% say in company control, if they do then so would amway corp, without the IBO association having a majority control it would mean you are still answerable to amway.
@ntrospect of course that the IBOs dont have majority. They dont need to be in charge about Amway company. It works for making sure that Amway cannot just cut an IBOs incomes, like other MLM did. For example Avon decided that (Czech republic) your customers must live in your region. All other customers form different regions were cut out of distributors. So the EDAC (IBOs association) works for a purpose to deny that kind of unfair decisions. you are right abour dictionary.

I am researching the the opportunities of Amway and also the cons as well.
Some people just look at the negatives or the positives. I am looking at both to make an educated decision. I was introduced to this when it was Quixstar. I am sure some people in this business ruined it for alot of people and preyed off their hopes and dreams instead of actually showing them how to build a profitable business one piece at a time.

I have seen the plan. I have friends who are in it. I've told them I would join but show me someone we know who has made it. No one could except for that "retired" guy whom they had the meetings at. But until someone i grew up with or knew for a while i would not be convinced. To this day, they have all quit. But keep believing in your dreams guys! The at least you can use your loses in the first three years as tax write offs.

Ive done Amway, it is hard to sell these products, no one really wants them, or wants to bother with them. And then you have to sell them over and over again each month to the person. It did not work out too well for me. Dont get me wrong i love MLM, but this was tricky, i started with a different MLM company, where i make a sale once and get paid every month - selling services that require monthly payments like Internet, phones etc. Send me an email if you want more info rygaudette@gmail.com:)

Amway is an excellent company!!! Don't you wish you started amway in the 50's? There is a new business called Kaching Kaching that was recently launched in August 2010. Kaching Kaching has millions of brand name products and 2,500 retail stores including 300 green stores. i saw the plan years ago and rejected it. Unfortunately. I had a second chance and i can tell tell for sure it works as long as you follow certain steps. I was a person i didnt believe anyone or anything until i saw with my own eyes. I thought to give it a try andddddddd here i am. YES it definitely works

If you truly worked for yourself you would not have 76 A4 pages of rules & regulations supplied by amway to follow would you not?? You would only have the tax legislation laws to abide to...yes?? There is absolutely nothing independent about an IBO. Try & start up your own e-com website to promote your "independent business" or sell product online & see how the people you supposedly don't work for feel about that...

@ntrospect actually.....you are independent.......first - amway has this rules to make sure you are not making bad name for the company, which is important to the amway because it just must be like that............and most important is that amway has the association of IBOs, and IBOs who are named to represent all distributors have 50% decisive voting in amway company.....so this is what makes you independent and your business cannot be taken from you

Sorry, this certainly doesn't fit with an IBO & the hold amway has over you now does it. You are delusional if you believe otherwise.
You say the IBO association has a 50% say in company control, if they do then so would amway corp, without the IBO association having a majority control it would mean you are still answerable to amway.

@ntrospect of course that the IBOs dont have majority. They dont need to be in charge about Amway company. It works for making sure that Amway cannot just cut an IBOs incomes, like other MLM did. For example Avon decided that (Czech republic) your customers must live in your region. All other customers form different regions were cut out of distributors. So the EDAC (IBOs association) works for a purpose to deny that kind of unfair decisions. you are right abour dictionary.

My parents were involved for 33 years up intill a few years back when 1,000 of people resigned due to much drama that unfolded. Is it a scam? NO! Does it have good products... even some GREAT products? ABSOLUTELY!! The good news... it (Amway) has gone back to basics!

I am researching the the opportunities of Amway and also the cons as well.
Some people just look at the negatives or the positives. I am looking at both to make an educated decision. I was introduced to this when it was Quixstar. I am sure some people in this business ruined it for alot of people and preyed off their hopes and dreams instead of actually showing them how to build a profitable business one piece at a time.

I have seen the plan. I have friends who are in it. I've told them I would join but show me someone we know who has made it. No one could except for that "retired" guy whom they had the meetings at. But until someone i grew up with or knew for a while i would not be convinced. To this day, they have all quit. But keep believing in your dreams guys! The at least you can use your loses in the first three years as tax write offs.

In this extraordinary business it can happen in months for some people, for others a year, others two years and others five years.
