  • What an amazing birth! Thank you so much for sharing it. Love your relief at 1:21! You Rock Mama!

  • Amazing video, you did amazing!

  • That makes me hurt watching that.. I did not see that much during any of my 3 childrens birth.. Does that make us related now? congrats

  • Um not to be rude in anyway because that was amazing and your very brave to post this.. But I just have to tell you that your body while pregnant looks so sexy! Your very beautiful :) congrats on the baby and sorry again if I was rude.

  • This was the best home birth video I have ever seen, very informative. Congrats!

  • Wow, you look like you didn't gain any weight after your pregnancy, only that little bulge of stomach, how do you do that? My cousin just gave birth to a baby girl and she gained 30 pounds!

  • @Beautvanity I gained about 40 pounds, I went from 120 to roughly 160 and i'm lucky enough to have lost all my pregnancy weight by the time abbie hit 1 :) I'm taller than I look (5'7) and I wear weight well. LOL

  • This seems like the most realistic birth to me. You aren't one of those "Meeeehhh....it was sooooooooooooooooooooooo eeeeeeeeeeasy for meeeeeeee" mom's, but you weren't ridiculous with screaming. Good job!!! So, I was wondering...and you don't have to answer, but did you end up tearing? If yes- is that what was hurting you after she was out?

  • @prettywild13 yeah - I required 2 stitches. I store in the same place I tore with my son - however I was grateful to have re-torn the same spot as my first time around, the doctor stitched me wrong and I had about 7 years of pain in that area until I gave birth to my second. I retore and she re-stitched it and i've been painfree in that area since then.

  • @1happyemma I'm a home birth midwife. I'm wondering why your midwife didn't know she had turned head down. Were there no internal exams done to make sure while you were in labor?

  • @joycnm1 - her butt and her head were the exact same size - even when I was on hospital bedrest, the doctors would think she was head-down, do a quick ultrasound to make sure, and she'd still be breech.

My midwife didn't have a ultrasound to confirm position, so we were just assuming that she was still breech. - I was pretty sure she'd flipped when my labor started, but it was impossible to tell so we were treating the labor as if she was still breech for safety reasons.

  • @joycnm1 My midwife only did one VE when I was in labour and that was at my request. Most homebirth midwives and many hospital mids don't do VEs during labour (at least not in Australia)

  • i've seen ur video before, and may have commented...don't remember. but it makes me crack up EVERY time. the little comments you put onscreen....the best part: i wanna go home...and you already were! lol! amazing how birth makes you says things you'd say if u were blitzed out of your mind! lol!

  • At 2:08, I noticed you were moving you're legs, in and out. Was that beneficial in any way? Or why were you doing that? I'm not trying to be rude, just curious!

  • @dorksnapple

honestly, i'm not sure. It seemed to help reduce the intensity of the sensations... it was something to focus on.

  • Thank you for being brave enough to share this special time with us. And, I DO think it's beautiful. Congratulations!

  • @kikisagu It may not be beautiful, but it's part of life. The title says what the video's about, so why watch it or click on it if it's not something you want to see? Duh. It was up to her if she wanted to share it or not, and it was up to you to see it or not.

  • wow good pusher.

  • beautiful moments. thanks for sharing. you shaved your pubic area before birth. is there an advantage of shaving the pubic area for birth?

  • @mustang80125

There was no reason I shaved, other than i've always kept myself trimmed. there's no real advantage to shaving other than personal preference of the woman. ;)

  • @1happyemma oh ok.. well it looks good when shaved, so good choice ;)

  • 3:09 POP! and I was like, *Woah mann!* ow much? Great Job 1happyemma!

  • omg nice job!! lovely babby!!

  • ddin't she say u could go in the water? so why did u still deliver on the bed?

  • @bennita1 it happened to fast for me to get up - she came popping out before i could get up.

  • Most excellent. You did so well. Thanks for sharing.

  • omg I loved this! you cracked me up so many times! :) I can't wait to give birth to my baby at home here in a few weeks! I'm hoping for a water birth.. but we'll see how it all turns out! Congrats on your beautiful baby girl!

  • wow... shes a tiny baby!!

  • @christiannatasha

She was average at 7lbz 3oz! and 20 inches long with a 13 inch head! She's now in 12 months at 5 months old and about 28+ inches long! She's not chunky, she's only about 16-17 pounds, but she's definitely tall!

  • I was mad that you didn't get to have a water birth! but then i have to tell myself that this is reality and unexpected things can happen.i just hope when i have mine, it can be in the water! i would go crazy if i had to be on my back.

  • just cried watching your video! i had a natural birth at a birth center with my daughter and i also said "i want a c-section" hahah so beautiful!!! i also kept telling my husband to shut the fuck up hahah ohhhh birth.

  • Great birth!!

    Lovely little girl:)

  • WAY TOO YOUNG TO BE HAVING A CHILD !!

  • @weareexpecting1 I'm 26 this year. 24 when I got pregnant and 25 when I had her. I don't think mid twenties is too young to be having a child, but to each their own.

if you think THAT's young, I had my first at 18. ;)

  • @weareexpecting1

ew who made you the authority on that? I've known some 30-40 something mothers who were awful! Pretty uncalled for.

I loved your video! Your children are very lucky and very gorgeous!

  • from the videos iv'e seen you where talkative during birth compaired to the other videos ive seen of birth. What dose that tattoo on your arm say i could only read sh?

  • Thank you for sharing your homebirth. I laughed when you said "Fuck sake!". I do have to ask, why wasn't your midwife able to distinguish between a head and a butt until she saw hair? And how didn't she realize that the baby had flipped when they could pick up the heartbeat so low on you. I also wonder what she was so busy doing that she looked away and took her hand off the baby's head right as she popped out. Perhaps you wouldn't have torn if she had eased the head out, but she let go!

  • @juliemagdalene

I don't think she was expecting her head to pop out like that, she was turning to get stuff to rub on me to help me stretch easier.... also, her head and her butt came out at and were exactly the same size, she'd been breech up until the day I went into labor, so she flipped probably right when my labor started. - but it was impossible to tell since her head and her butt were exactly the same size.

  • If I may, I think that all would-be mothers should have their clothes removed for birthing sessions, like you did. It makes them more focused.

  • did you tear when her head came flying out?

  • Cool

  • You did so great! Champion effort!!

  • j became erect

  • Aw great birth! Haha you remind me of my video, you even said the exact thing I said! Haha I was like "oh god get him out!"

  • I actually just found out that I was pregnant a few days ago and have been watching these super dramatic, terribly scary youtube birth vid's, but yours is complete different! Thanks for posting this, you actually made me laugh and I hope that my labor can have some humor involved as well!!!

  • schöne Geburt,Herzlichen Glückwunsch

    Good luck from Germany:)

  • LMAOOOOO!!!! "I wanna go home".....'I forgot I was home'....omg, I laughed OUT LOUD that is freaking hilarious! You were IN THE ZONE!

  • LMAOOOOO!!!! "I wanna go home".....'I forgot I was home'....omg, I laughed OUT LOUD that is freaking hilarious! You were IN THE ZONE!

  • Not gonna lie, I love that your pubic hair is completely shaved off.

  • You did a beautiful job! I'm 11 weeks and 2 days, and I am seriously considering natural birth. The natural birth probably was a reason why your daughter was so content. I'm all for drug free babies lol.

  • @NKing013 if you want a natural birth i wouldn't go to a hospital .or you can watch a movie like the business of being born. so you know what they pull at the hospital!

  • i have so many questions...well, if u don't mind me asking. :)

was it annoying to have them check ur dilation?

were u able to feed ur baby right after she was born, even without suctioning (i don't remember seeing that part.)

were u able to walk around after u gave birth?

did u have a really bad tear?

  • @erickav808

    I only required 2 stitches.

They didn't check me very often.

And she nursed with in an hour of birth. and there was no suctioning of her.

I was also up and used the bathroom as soon as the placenta was delivered, and she gave me the two stitches I required. Abbie nursed while they stitched me.

  • @1happyemma that's so cool! i never seen a birth quite like urs. awesome job! sorry about u not being able to do ur water birth, though. but nevertheless, u do a crazy awesome job!

  • @1happyemma Question, why did you shave?

  • @glitchfan ^.^ because I always do? LOL thats a fairly unusual question to ask about a birth video. I happen to dislike hair in general though, so I never have body hair from the neck down most of the time. ;)

  • @1happyemma Fair enough! Thanks for answering!

  • wtf was that rag head doing? i would have told her get the hell outta my house ;)

  • Awwwww that was so beautiful.

  • Where is your blog I would love to see the whole pregnancy? PS Congratulations!

  • What a cute little baby! Great job!!

  • congratulations all around! thanks so much for sharing this and inspiring other women that it can (and probably should) be done the natural way. and thanks for dropping a well-placed f-bomb or two. if ever there was an appropriate time and place for it, this was it! lol. loved the very literal surprise twist ending!

Thank you for being so open about this process because it has made it wonderful for the youtube community to see. I think its great that you are not ashamed to post a video where you are completely naked because you want to share the amazing experience of childbirth with us! Thank you very much! ~ Jason.

  • Thanks for sharing and congratulations! You did so well and your baby is adorable!

Just an observation....vaginal breech birth is most difficult in the position you were in!!!! Hands & knees is optimal...even a water birth would have been better!

  • Awesome! I wanted a water birth too, but at Valley Medical Center had a son Dec. 11 of 2008. At one point I suddenly said "I want an epidural" the same way you suddenly said "I want a C-Section" ~ that moment of fear/doubt was there but with support of those around you we move through it & it's amazing what our bodies can do isn't it?

  • Thanks for sharing this with us here Emma! What a wonderful experience this is for you all. I so wanted to do home births, but we did not have Midwives here to assist me.

    Hugs, Inky ;)

  • wow she has a nice body. beautiful nipples. looks like she is tight.

  • Congrats! I've had two c-sections - you are BRAVE! Bravo!!

  • congrats :) she's lovely.

  • thank you for your video... very moving - reminded me of what an awesome experience it is for everyone present (Father of three Grown up children)

  • so beautiful emma. even while pushing a baby out you are absolutely gorgeous! abbie is so cute. she has so much hair on her head, kind of like when i was born. lol. you have such an amazing family. i hope that one day, when i have a baby, the birth will go as well as yours did. one of my close friends was in labor for almost five and a half hours. congrats on the beautiful baby and on having such a wonderful family. =^_^=

  • Congrats to you, and your entire family!!! Beautiful video. ~smiles~

  • Thanks for uploading your video! What an adorable baby. Most babies look terrible after just coming out (not gonna lie) but yours was cute through and through!

I do have one question: What was the midwife doing after the birth that made you say "ow ow ow" ?

  • @mediate27 She was checking my tearing to see how bad it was and I was also saying ow due to the after contractions. the mix of her touching me to see how much damage I had, while we waited for the placenta to detach wasn't exactly a fun experience. I was a lot happier once everything was "over" and I got to just sit there and hold her! hehe

  • Congratulations Emma. Not too graphic at all, infact I was taking notes so hopefully my own birth will be as "easy" as yours was... as in hoping not for a 18 hour labour with three hours worth of pushing!

  • @Atausariela If you do push for 3 hours, don't feel bad, my first one took me 3 1/2 hours to push him out because of a posterior position and them forcing me in the hospital to lay on my back despite my urge to get up and change positions so he'd rotate. Because they wouldn't let me, he came out face up with a 14 inch head and a dent in his forehead from my pelvis hitting him in the face.

  • Such a beautiful birth! :)

  • Nice, wonderfully candid video of your experience. Thank you so much for sharing with us. All the best to you and your new family! p.s. Do you think you could put up a real-time unedited of the time leading up to the birth?

  • @atnette We had no idea that my labor was going that quick, so we didn't have videos leading up to the transition phase. we have a 30 second clip that shows me in the shower, and a 1 minute clip of me in the tub, and that's it. I was fine until my water broke, and then it was "oh crap" I dilated 4 cm and pushed her out in under an hour once my water broke. Until that happened, i wasn't even sure I was in labor. LOL

  • thanks for sharing....amazing!!!

  • Wow thanks to you and Jake for sharing that with us. She is beautiful Emma :)

  • That was a quick 2nd stage labor. The baby girl obviously could not stand the constriction around her head, neck and chest. So that was why she pop his head out within 5 minutes after the initial crowning.

Anyway, great job on your homebirth.

  • Awwwww, loved the video. Thanks you for sharing emma. :D

  • Congrats Emma! I'm so happy she flipped and that you and Abbie are healthy and happy. :D

    ~His_blondie

  • congrats! she's beautiful.

  • Thanks to emma and Jake for sharing this amazing video and for allowing us to take this incredible journey with them. Such a special experience to share. And by the way, you look like a butterfly giving birth because you keep moving your legs open and closed to calm yourself. hehe <3 Fleur-de-Lis

  • @kendallcarrie haha, I know, I felt sort of retarded watching the video but it was the only thing that took the edge off all the pain when I was coping with stuff. the position wasn't ideal so it's one of the only things I could do that sort made me feel better. opened stuff up better I guess. LOL

  • Congratulations guys!!!!!

  • Beautiful all the way around with an ouch.

  • Your baby is sooo stinking gorgeous and your son is cute too
