there was a blinder of a catch that Boonie took at silly mid-on (at least i think it was Boonie) where he just stuck his right hand out, a couple of inches off the ground and caught it. Do you have that one?
BOOOONIE!!!! Always loved his reaction to the Warne hat trick catch, this one's even better. Well let's face it, it's identical except for the helmet. And Taylor, great captain. I know he had some players who became legends under him but he knew how to use them. When he had that form slump going into the 97 Ashes tour, his captaincy and work in the slips kept him in there till he got back into form. Well that and Deano shelling a sitter off Taylor in a tour match against Jones' county side.
Back in the days when Australia had some GREAT catchers. A slip cordon of Healy, Mark Taylor, Mark Waugh and Shane Warne. Slater and Steve Waugh in the gully, Boonie at short leg. There were some blinding catches in that series, from both sides!
@Jazzaaaaa1 It's strange how fitness levels have improved and ground fielding has been totally transformed yet catching in the close positions is very poor compared to this era.
@Jazzaaaaa1 totally agree...the feilding standard was such high class...i cant remember seeing catches getting dropped....now we see missed catches in every innings!!...
@robelinda2 sorry for the misunderstanding, what i was trying to say was, i've not seen much footage of hogg bowling, and i was wondering if you've got any uploaded?
@JazzyB833 A "left arm chinaman" is actually an orthodox spin bowler because you have used a contradictory term "left". Chinaman connotes left arm. You can't be a "left arm, left arm" bowler. That would make you a right arm bowler!! Dumbshits are a dime a dozen on here
It's funny, because you rarely ever see that field placement come into use, unless it's something spectacular. Nine times out of 10, it's a waste. The one time, it's brilliant.
@melodichousemusic Sure, that was his bowling style for all his career up to 1996. Even opened the bowling in tests a few times too. Had a few 5 wicket hauls in one dayers and tests with his aggressive mediums.
skip to 2:15 for boonie

I loved Boonie so much. This catch is slightly less unf***ingbelievable than his catch for Warney's ashes hat-trick. Discuss.

Tubby was a great captain... always seemed to pull something out of the hat when nothing was happening.
Pity he didn't have the same resources Ponting/Waugh had at their disposal.

have you got any footage of left arm chinaman bowling? so hard to find!
bling164 11 months ago
@bling164 Not at all hard to find- Brad Hogg, Michael Bevan etc....

@robelinda2
the only thing i've found is the odd ball from hogg... haven't seen it in a while, apart from a few overs of katich last aussy summer.
bling164 11 months ago
@bling164 But Hogg was a proper chinaman bowler, or do you mean you've only seen not much of him?

@robelinda2 Left arm chinaman... I reckon it was Paul Adams from SA... wasn't he?

@Pigroota
Check out "Left Arm Chinaman bowling" on wiki...
As to "chinaman".. it merely means unorthodox. You can have a have a left arm chinaman bowler OR a left arm orthodox bowler.
NOW GO AND EAT YOUR CUNT...!!! With all your hogwash of "left-arm" on the sides.
