social services thru taxation is the best spent money. privatization is more expensive and less productive. simple facts of civil economics.
of course this only works if you don't have gubmint haters purposely wasting your money to prove social programs don't work. i.e. the fox in the hen house. and as long as dupes like you continue to put these crooks in office, the more you get robbed.
@tomitstube Incorrect. social services through taxation fosters corruption and dependence. Dependence means people become demanding where it is the responsibility of the individual to become productive and not be a burden on others. Also the "Luxury Tax" of 1990-1993 disproved your point by not raising revenue and increasing unemployment. Redistribution through Capitalism is constructive, redistribution through govt. is destructive. This just can't be denied with any credibility.
@furny0101 ~ social services do not "foster corruption", not anything like what we saw with deregulated banks, real estate, and banks in the last 5 years. thousands of corrupt businesses have been exposed over the years, the level of corruption and "dependence" in social programs (at the level you claim) simply doesn't exist. when clinton and newt "ended welfare as we know it", our poverty rates have since tripled, so where is this great virtue of making people worse off than they are?
what about roads, pay police, pay firefighters, pay for an army thats protect your country, pay government itself, pay teachers, pay for computers and shit like that in school, pay to transport kids, pay for public transport, pay for everything that is public in fact? how do you pay that?
@LedKenji666 Um, with taxes. I advocate low taxes, not no taxes. But we do have to realize that in a good, fair, and just society we have no RIGHT to other people's money no matter what it funds. Both government and taxes are necessary to protect the country and maintain law and order. When the economy dips, then we need money in the hands of people and businesses, not government programs (the Obama plan in the US has proved this). That means the government will have to do without.
No lies, just some truth that some people can't handle. The Obama "stimulus" plan hasn't turned the economy around. When things go bad, people want the bad times over yesterday. The reality is that downturns happen, and they work themselves out when people engage in commerce. Money paid in taxes cannot be used by to hire or keep people hired. Trying to "manipulate" the economy doesn't work. People go to extremes and the downturns kick them back to reality. You have to let it work .
Tax cuts work because people spend money more carefully on themselves than government and because high taxes cause people to move away meaning less money in the system. So with high taxes there is less money and less wealth.

@furny0101 the thing you dont understand is that taxes makes overall peoples lives better and that if taxes were lower salaries would be lower too.

I can pay my bills, but I can't build or fix a road I use. THAT'S WHAT TAXES ARE FOR!
Stop the lies!
