Obama 2012.....cant wait to see all the crazy teabaggers/ GOP defend newt morals. Obama gets credit from me for the New GI Bill, repeal of don't ask don't tell, and Bin Laden, things he campained on. He didn't accomplish everything soooo lets give him for more years....=)
I've seen a lot of people who said that Obama was doing a poor job or that he was a Bush-Twin. Let me just leave an example. Lets say that you were to buy an apartment. The last owner was a slob and left garbage everywhere. Then you walk in to be bombarded with garbage and mold. You try your best to clean it up, but the apartment is just too dirty to clean properly. The same thing happened with Obama. Don't blame him for everything that's happened. Bush made a giant mess and left Obama with it.
calm, dignified, clear, and with an argument like the one he posits in his Osawatomie speech, if I were a republican, I'd be quivering like Newt Gingrich's jowls.
I always find it hilarious about the people who have been "dissapointed" in Obama saying I voted for change blah blah. Do these people know how government works? The guys does not have the ability to do everything he wants. You have to pass it through congress which has been Obama's wall. Everything gets blocked. A lot of people don't follow politics to the point they should, instead of relying on a 30 second local news clip or a small paragraph from a newspaper. If only people did research.'
calm, dignified, clear, and with an argument like the one he posits in his Osawatomie speech, if I were a republican, I'd be quivering like Newt Gingrich's jowls.
Why why why why why are we so hung up on trying to be a manufacturing based economy. Manufacturing provides shit jobs that can be performed more precisely by machines. We are passed that point as a nation and we need to focus on the growing technology market. GM and Ford are great companies, but we should pride ourselves in Google, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft etc.
Romney: the human embodiment of the phrase, "corporate douchebag".
Gingrich: the man who shut down the government because Clinton gave him a bad seat on a plane.
Paul: the man who thinks corporations should rarely, if ever, be regulated.
Santorum: wants to outlaw pornography and thinks that homosexuality is as bad as beastiality. . . . Even if I wanted to vote against Obama, he's still better than these morons.
If we could just all realize that the Republicans and Democrats all have the same goal: the fix this country. They all want what is best. They just have different ideas about how to get us there. They argue and bicker and accuse each other of wanting to destroy the nation. Preposterous. We all want OUR nation to remain the best. We just differ on the "how." The sooner we all realize that, the better.
i find it odd that cnn etc only covers the republicans white house campaign...looks a little one sided and i dont pick one side or the other..time to pick the right person for the job .not the right side.
First of all let me start off by saying I'm not American, I'm Scottish
But here's my opinion
Most people think of Barrack O'Bama as a liar and a fraud but the guy's had a fucking really hard job taking over the train wreck of an economy Bush left yous in:
Rising debt to $14t, rising unemployment, poor infrastructure and just a terrible economy plight on the whole
And after all this the guy has got to find ways of getting it back on track its a tough job and a task that will take years and time
BEST PRESIDENT EVER!!!! thanks for picking up the pieces of our gop trashed country - keep up the GREAT work - the silent MAJORITY is still behind you all the way!!!!! OBAMA 2012!!!
I've been working on this campaign for months now, making endless phone calls, knocking on doors, and registering voters. We are getting more fired up with each passing potential GOP nominee.
BO- see you @ my SOTU Watch Party!! We can't wait!
It is still so refreshing to have a smart man in the White house, who is working his butt off for ALL OF US. It's time we all salute the chief. What a remarkable man, working alongside the most un-remarkable bunch of selfish politicians we have ever seen, yet Obama keeps on moving the ball up the field, al-be-it a bit slowly, with all the selfish folks who are not interested in governing, throwing every thing they can find in His & Our way. Thank you Barack Obama, what a breath of fresh air.
Obama & Biden 2012! Biden 2016 or Maybe Hillary Clinton 2016 would be great. We need to keep the republicans out of the White House. Screw big republicans and their love for giant corporations and banks. Obama and democrats work for the middle class, not just the wealthy.
We all have a choice now. Do we want the rich to completely rule America and get even more tax breaks or do we want a Society with some income fairness where everyone can benefit from the wealth of America. Obama 2012 !
@TODDZEN The wealth of America? Benifit from it? Everytime money is moved, a % of it goes to the government. Everytime. We make the wealth, not government.
I'm sick and Tired of Americans letting the Media-Corporate Complex Get away with this Propaganda! I'm starting to not care. If Americans don't stand up for themselves and get angry and fight for their rights They won't have Any Any more.
Guess What!?
I'm not going to feel bad for Americans when they are poor and don't have any rights because They are choosing right now to throw them away. I won't pity them! If they don't stand up now, then they deserve what's coming! :(
@robertzjenkins but guess what..if it happens to america who is saying it wont happen to you and your country?thats why you have to care.we are all one we need to stand up for eachother no matter what country religion or race.those are just things to divide us.
@dogfight001 Obama 2016 is not possible. A president can only run in office for a maximum number of 8 years. After that a new president is elected. So even if Obama is reelected it should read "Barack Obama 2008 and 2012" and not "Barack Obama 2012 AND 2016" So enjoy your next 4 years, you Obama fans, because in 2016 there is NOBAMA, whether you like it or not.
You had my vote (again) until you passed the NDAA, but now I might just abstain from voting. 4 years ago you had a huge showing of support and ran as the anti-bush. This time around you are the continuation of Bush's policies and your promises (gitmo) can't be trusted. I voted for a strongly liberal president but got a fairly weak centrist. Still better than mccain/palin at least. You are really going to need to gain active liberal support again, you've lost pretty much all of it at this point.
@corpdecker Remaining silent and not voting, is just as bad as saying that it is okay for them to throw away our rights. Do some research in to each Candidate, don't listen to the spin of the media. They have lied again and again.
I hope you win Obama, cause if you don't Romney will cut up the most profitable parts of the United States of America and sell it off to other countries. I hear that China has a keen interest in California. That is a fact that, I researched.
@BruceArctor I have submitted my question for funding on Native American reservations like Mesa Grande, Stewarts Point Kashia Band of Pomo Indians, and Jack Linblad's district Gabrieleno Tsvonga for green energy grants and economic development.
@BruceArctor good point and probably very close to reality. Some republican governor SOLD the state capital... no joke... they will sell the whole country out from under us if the get half a chance.
I voted for him and didn't see the change i was hoping for. I'm undecided on my vote but I will likely support republican in the upcoming presidential race.
Because of the NDAA National Defense Authorization Act that is now Marshal Law as of Jan 1, 2012 . I am too scared to tell you what I feel about your plans for America and for me. I have listened and researched ALL of your speeches. I am AWARE and AWAKE
I have no doubt this will be a speech that will provide us with hope for the future. You get it. You understand the common struggles of everyday people. I believe you know what it takes to get America back to prominence again. Everyone wants to know that they have a fair shot at the "American Dream," and to be provided with the OPPORTUNITY to get there. The people of America are seeking someone who is strong, courageous, knowledgeable and is a fighter, this is who Barack Obama is.U have my vote!
It's irrefutable that the Republicans are screwed. If they weren't so disingenuous it might be different, but it's clear that they'll never address income inequality and the decline of american industry in any way that will satisfy the middle and lower classes -- the bread and butter -- of America.
Get off the dime and stop trying to compromise so much! You are giving away the store! We voted for CHANGE! Show us some and you'll get more support!
@mamafox20 shutup and be grateful you have a democrat in office. He reformed healthcare, ended DADT, got Bin Laden and ended the Iraq war. Staying at home this november is a vote for a republican. If you stay home and a republican wins, you will never forgive yourself. Cant you see he has to appeal to independents to get re elected?
The blueprint was the constitution, apparently corporatist Obama is willing to ignore it, as well as all the republican candidates, except one and you already know who he is.
Hi everybody, we are just a few days away from me signing NDAA, aren't you glad you can be taken to an unknown place for an unknown time with probable cause?
@dmerrell7 yeah but he will be able to stop efforts by republicans to repeal his healthcare plan and roll back regulations. He will be our shield from GOP ideology.
Thank you for the ARRA..it SAVED my job with millions of others. We have Rick Scott as our Gov..in Florida and he is a disaster. Education is very important to me. We need an educated population to fuel our new Economy. You have my support, my childrens, and my Republican Husband. He is actually one of the "Republican's for Obama" group.
In 2008 he made calls after Michelle called him and asked him to. Very proud moment for all of us.
I'm excited for this speech, and isn't it a bit odd at the time of my writing this comment the video of the President of the United States has been viewed 307 times? It seems low. I bet 'Shit New Age Girls Say' got hundreds of thousands of hits in the same time period. Go America!
Mr. President, we need to raise the bar. We, as Ameriocan's need to embrace our heritage of hard work and success. These days of entitlement and what 's in it for me have eroded our young people's drive. You have my vote again (and my dollars) please lead us forward by remembering where we came from, and how hard work got us this great life.
I like Barack Obama as a person, but as a politician, he has fallen short on too many promises. Actions speak louder than words, Mr. President and you've had 4 years to make the most minuscule changes to our economy and our country as a whole. You have done neither. I'm sorry Mr. President, but you will not be receiving mine, nor my family's votes.
@BrendanIsCool I'm cool with you calling us 'paulbots'. we'll just call you obamabots or simply associate you with the failed Occupy movement. Weren't part of it? case in point. Part of it? Case in point again.
Obama! Is what I say every time I see a Obama bumper sticker. I would vote for you but I'm underage. Also, I there any kind of way I can get a Obama bumper stick for free?
@holeshotnot01 Have you taken a look at the Republican candidates and their 'qualifications'? They're all very rich, and have no idea what troubles the average American has. They're also all squalling amongst themselves, good luck with that if any one of them get into office.
@T00KAH NDAA: a) Is a Republican created bill. b) Doesn't actually provide for indefinite detention of US citizens. c) Is purposefully vague bc Republicans know the defense bill must be passed and the GOP in Congress is trying to "make this a one-term president" by their own admission. They want to create an image of Obama as a dictator/socialist/muslim terrorist/ atheist/ a bunch of other really incoherent attacks on a moderate president.
@T00KAH "NDAA" is just a buzzword for lazy nihilistic hipsters that generally don't understand that we have 3 branches of government, and specifically don't understand what a veto-proof supermajority is. I'd try to explain it, but you blaming all the problems in the world on PBO is Trendy (I know, why should drooling inbed bucktoothed racist teabaggers have all the fun?) so you won't listen anyways. Besides, I don't want to sully your nihilistic hipster cred.
Just turned 18, and you'll have my first vote ever. Obama will win Ohio, Rep. Kasick has done hell and Ohio lost all faith in Rep. Good Luck, see ya in the oval office in 2013
If President Obama wins the presidency again, hopefully he acts progressive instead of giving into the Republicans on most of the issue. As president you are to protect and defend our way of life - not sign away our rights.
Hmmm...maybe a robot (Romney) would do a better job of ignoring our shitty Congress, but in the end it's probably best to have a human controlling the dials of the presidency. I'm really disappointed in how difficult it's been to get basic, commonsense, things passed in this Congress, but I know you've done the best you can, Mr. President. Unless Ron Paul wins the Republican nominee (he's a principled hard-ass, which we really need), you have my vote :-P
Maybe we'd all be more enthusiastic Mr. President, if you'd stop negotiating away our left wing principles to Republicans, like the tax cuts, the public option, social security and medicare cuts, education cuts, environmental regulations, you know the things we were promised in 2008. I'm still voting Obama in November, but this time I know I'm getting Carter when I thought I was getting FDR.
Unfortunately, many Republicans equate fairness with communism.
Also, if you really want to get reelected, you need to throw out something that creates jobs quickly. The average American isn't ready to hear about long-term and long-lasting solutions.
@ScullyboyDX I live in Canada and I've been an avid reader about the oil sands in Alberta. The oil sands are expanding so rapidly and there is not sufficient monitoring to prevent environmental damage. I understand that we are America's closest ally and largest trading partner but I agree with President Obama's decision to reject the pipeline application. America must invest in the energy's of tomorrow not in the dirty fuels of today.
@ScullyboyDX which would do what for Americans in the long run? Heck even in the short-run, less than a 3rd of the jobs would have been held by Americans and it would have been heavy crude oil. The worst and most expensive kind to refine which results in higher costs for Americans. Basically the pros do not in any way outweigh the cons.
@ScullyboyDX So what then, elect a cyborg as president? Leaders need to have human emotions in order to understand the plight of those at the bottom, Romney simply is a weaker option, period.
@ScullyboyDX The ridiculous deadline set by the congressional GOP was ridiculous. He is not opposed to the pipeline, but he wants to make sure that any plan for building it will take the environment into account, and minimise the inevitable damage caused.
Obviously that is considered unreasonable in the eyes of those irrational morons that don't think climate change is occurring.

NDAA
T00KAH 1 month ago 123
@T00KAH NDAA: a) Is a Republican created bill. b) Doesn't actually provide for indefinite detention of US citizens. c) Is purposefully vague bc Republicans know the defense bill must be passed and the GOP in Congress is trying to "make this a one-term president" by their own admission. They want to create an image of Obama as a dictator/socialist/muslim terrorist/ atheist/ a bunch of other really incoherent attacks on a moderate president.
Obama 2012. The only choice.
pan488 1 month ago 7
@T00KAH "NDAA" is just a buzzword for lazy nihilistic hipsters that generally don't understand that we have 3 branches of government, and specifically don't understand what a veto-proof supermajority is. I'd try to explain it, but you blaming all the problems in the world on PBO is Trendy (I know, why should drooling inbed bucktoothed racist teabaggers have all the fun?) so you won't listen anyways. Besides, I don't want to sully your nihilistic hipster cred.

President. Unless Ron Paul wins the Republican nominee (he's a principled hard-ass, which we really need), you have my vote :-P
bernlin2000 1 month ago 4
Maybe we'd all be more enthusiastic Mr. President, if you'd stop negotiating away our left wing principles to Republicans, like the tax cuts, the public option, social security and medicare cuts, education cuts, environmental regulations, you know the things we were promised in 2008. I'm still voting Obama in November, but this time I know I'm getting Carter when I thought I was getting FDR.
rjbonacolta 1 month ago 4
@rjbonacolta If Republicans in congress are the reason we don't get what we need...
why not blame the Republicans?
RockerHeade 1 month ago
@rjbonacolta he has to appeal to independents in order to be re elected. Once he gets a second term, he will have a better negotiating position
beatlemania100 1 month ago
Unfortunately, many Republicans equate fairness with communism.
Also, if you really want to get reelected, you need to throw out something that creates jobs quickly. The average American isn't ready to hear about long-term and long-lasting solutions.

robertantonnyc 1 month ago
@ScullyboyDX I live in Canada and I've been an avid reader about the oil sands in Alberta. The oil sands are expanding so rapidly and there is not sufficient monitoring to prevent environmental damage. I understand that we are America's closest ally and largest trading partner but I agree with President Obama's decision to reject the pipeline application. America must invest in the energy's of tomorrow not in the dirty fuels of today.
mattt1994 1 month ago 4
@ScullyboyDX which would do what for Americans in the long run? Heck even in the short-run, less than a 3rd of the jobs would have been held by Americans and it would have been heavy crude oil. The worst and most expensive kind to refine which results in higher costs for Americans. Basically the pros do not in any way outweigh the cons.
cajama2005 1 month ago
@ScullyboyDX So what then, elect a cyborg as president? Leaders need to have human emotions in order to understand the plight of those at the bottom, Romney simply is a weaker option, period.
bernlin2000 1 month ago
@ScullyboyDX The ridiculous deadline set by the congressional GOP was ridiculous. He is not opposed to the pipeline, but he wants to make sure that any plan for building it will take the environment into account, and minimise the inevitable damage caused.
Obviously that is considered unreasonable in the eyes of those irrational morons that don't think climate change is occurring.
ubernaffa 1 month ago
@ScullyboyDX Because building environmentally hazardous pipelines that provide us very little oil is a great idea! :D
