  • is that really your backyard? nice!

  • Have you tryed the xbox game trials hd ? check it out on youtube its awesome!!!!

  • My backyard is over five football fields long SO FAR. I am going to buy additional acreage. I just built a nice road into my forest. I love the sound of 2-strokes.

  • cool stuff. I love trial riding. Some people dont understand that this is pretty fun once your able to move on ur bike well.

  • not a bad little course i would like to ride it

  • there is so much power on tap with a 300 exc..that is what makes this vid so cool. You can tame it with the clutch like what you see .......or unleash it when you need the HP on an uphill or speed requirement.

  • Great video. I would love that terrain in my backyard. Trials riding is great training for enduro. Ask Shane Watts.

  • i agree with ritchie you would have more fun on a trials bike, awsome riding though!

  • i had a 2003 GG280 and i killed the transmission by riding it too fast and hard...maybe a Montesa or something more beefy would help?

  • or a Beta since i think their gears are evenly spaced...where GG has 4 low and 2 high, which is why i killed it constantly going from 4th to 5th gear i think

  • dude you have amazing balance... ive got a 125 and i cant do half the stuff you do lol nice job!!!

  • Cool video man! Nice little setup you got in your yard

  • What type of oil do you mix with?

  • @troy824 Rock Oil Strawberry!!!

  • looks like you would have more fun if you got a trials bike

  • Good machine!!!

  • good riding...:)

  • whats the difference between exc and xcw witch is better im getting a 300exc 00

  • i bet that bike looks good on the back of that ranger as my bike looks good on my ranger :)

  • zajebiście :)

  • Bom

  • Bravohhhh! Dude excellent job. I didn't even see you dab once.

  • Nice man

  • nevermind i saw

  • what gearing are you running?

  • I have a 2006 KTM 200 XC and i couldnt get it running so i thought the carb was clogged so i pulled it apart and it was clean. i put it back to gether and i got it started but it was really loaded up and it spit a bunch of fuel into the airbox almost like its not sucking. does that mean that the reeds are bad? But ur back yard looks sooooo fun

  • dude nice skills and step up and NOT BAD MAN NOT BAD AND I CAN HEL FOR THE TRACk ups caps

  • Serious skills RD....I got a chance to ride a 250 xc-w......and now my XR400 is for sale. Lookin to get a 250 or 300. I don't think at 50 I could get skills like that, but I'll tell the 250 xc-w blew my XR4 away!!

  • Hi, nice video and riding :), i have the 2010 model and i love it , whats is your jetting ?, cheers

  • thanks...im not sure about the jetting, i guess its stock jetting. Stock pipes and at sea level so unless the previous owner changed it?

  • RallyDude, I am looking to get the 09 300 xc-w. I trail ride here in colorado. I need your expert advise - I ride a Yz250 13-52 with 13oz Steahly. I am drawn to the 300 a)electric start b)great trail reviews. Do you have problems with striping of gears or the Electric starter???Parts Hard to come by??? Kicking uphill in mud is getting old for this old man :)

P.S. you got skillz brother!!!! stop making it look so easy!!!

  • :) mines an 06 so no E start. I have a steahly but i learned to ride w out it. Its good to have tho for $120.

I believe i was at 12-55, i might be at 13-55 now. But there was a time where 35mph was the fastest it would go haha. Im pretty sure its at 13-55 now so i can go like 50 or so.

  • I grew up on XRs, then rode a gas gas for a year or so, then went to the 300. I love 2 stroke now. Power exactly when you need it, no matter where the crank is positioned, its able to spin the wheel for a split second w no hesitation.

I have no Japanese 2 stroke experience other than riding my neighbors CR250 once. I didnt like it at all, tho it was stock...then again my 300 is stock so that might be saying something.

i might get a 200 next just to save weight.

  • @RallyDude1515 Great 2 hear ktm r still maken 2 strokes,better than ever,rumors r new 09-10 has 300exc 57.4hp 49flb of torque stock.Man thats more than crf450@48hp 41flbs torque,thats amazing cos lots enduro riders r ktm 2stroke fanatics lol.

  • see you next year in erzberg ! ;)

  • nice work! it takes strong and fit legs and upper body to do that stuff on a full size enduro bike

  • haha yeah. I dont work out at all...moto is my only workout.

Which explains why my only enduro cross 2 years ago, i only lasted 2 laps before i was out of it. then all the rekluse bikes pass me, their forearms weren't cramping up from clutching like mine!

  • NOT BAD !

  • cool trail!!

  • great control, especially for such a big bike.

  • You make that look like trials riding but the bikes 100lbs heavier

  • i just traded my 6969 xxx for a 6969 gg55

  • Excellent bike control, take it you do trials

  • i had a GG280 for a couple years! haha i grew up on XRs though. had the trials bike just a couple years ago.

  • sick vid.ktms are the best for this

  • That's GOOD! I need to learn how to do that slow speed trickery! I need a lesson LOL

  • count me in 2!

  • nice man ;) !

  • They gate and fence of the fire roads over there ! Where is the logic in that ?

  • i miss my bike :( but getting a 09 300exc soon!!!

  • i just traded up and got an 09 300 xcw there sweet bikes, nice vid bro you have inspired me to put a track in my backyard, iv only got an acre but i could totally do a little technical track like that!

  • Vou colocar fogo na minha honda xr 250 Tornado!!! Comparado c/ a levissima Ktm a minha parece mais uma patrola.

  • ur prtty good man keep it up

  • Good job man, you've got the skill down!

  • That bike is sweeet. Excellent riding. ;)

  • excellent control... good video... you should consider making a video with a trial training tutorial

  • great,man!!! i ride '05 300 exc also,but not as good...you got a fan in israel. you wanna ride wherever you like,whenever you like? come ride in israel-no fences,no privete lands,24/7 all year round :) :) :)

  • nice control over your bike ;) I really liked watching the video, but I don't know what I envy more; your skills, bike or backyard!! That place looks huge!

  • haha well its definitely better than living within sidewalks...but my 1/4 acre is nothing compared to the rest of the property around me! If CA wasn't so stingy with their land, they would let us ride the 10 miles of fireroads that are 100 yards from my house...gated and barbwired off from everyone.

  • are you in the new dirt ride

  • yeah, January Reader's Ride. Pg 92 its like an average Joe type article they do every month...since reading about Pros can get kind of boring i guess.

  • well that was my favioute part of the mag You are defintly a great rider Keep on truckin

  • haha thanks. I'll give endurocross another try next year if i get in better shape, but its really tough. I was done after 1.5 laps.

  • You have good clutch and throttle control dawg

  • Nice riding! I like the little foot dabs you do for balance. I want one these bikes . The only thing I don't like about 2 strokes is the smoke and fuel consumption, but they really outshine the 4 strokes on this type of riding.

  • cool, well for gas consumption, I go thru 3/4 of my enduro tank in a 90 minute race. I dont know, i guess it does consume a bit more than a 4 stroke.

As for the smoke, its very minimal...and the smoke you do smell, smells like strawberrys thanks to Rock Oil scented premix! haha

  • Ever think of a rear trials tire, and a rekluse auto clutch for your bike?

  • HELP would the sx300 be quite a bit faster then a cr250?

  • KTM 300 is more tame. The CR250 has more of a hit. Though you can put a heavier flywheel on a CR250 or any MX 2stroker for that matter and make it more tame.

  • thats class m8

is that bike really light? ive got a yamaha 125 ttr an its so fuckin heavy i cant do any tricks on it but i suppose its mainly for endurance racin

  • i had a TTR125, all BBR'd out. Its actually pretty light, but the wheels and suspension make it feel unmanageable i assume. Once you move up to a big bike, it will feel lighter, even though its heavier.

  • 250's are cool i hear...i grew up on Honda XR's 50, 80, 200, 250, 400 etc then i got a trials bike for about 2 years, rode it maybe 100 hours total, and now i can do this stuff.

Mtn biking also helps a lot in my opinion, downhill and slalom i used to do alot before college :(

  • because when you have to make your own power on a mountain bike, you try to preserve it going down the trail, so you know how to suck up bumps and ride berms while maintaining momentum...so i tranfered that to my singletrack riding on this bike and i noticed a big difference in the last 2 years.

  • thats really cool. Your technique seems so refined from the trials influence, how long have u been riding? I had a ktm 250sx and you make handling such a powerful bike look easy.

  • I have a question do those have a switch on the handlebar like low and high gear my freind told me they had one. Love the bike i have a crf 250 and that might be my next bike. Also is it reliable, do u have to change tops ends alot??

  • haah i dont think any bike has a switch for low/high...your friend just likes to talk alot because you probably ride better than him haha.

any two stroke will last you a few years if you dont rev the piss out of it.

i plan to ride my 300 on same top end for at least a couple more years. i hardly rev it passed 4000 unless im in a hare scramble.

  • I am thinking about buying a 2009 XCw and getting rid of my 450EXC thumper. Your video made up my mind..that things lugs like a beast!! Nice technique too.

  • thanks, and you can always get a heavyweight flywheel for more luggage haha.

You wont be disappointed! either 200 or 300 2 strokes are the way to go, i might get a 200 next time, since its like 10 lbs lighter? and a little smaller i think? i dont know for sure.

  • Hill-billy mountain folk with surplus store smelling houses!

  • Maybe a trials bike would suit you a little better than your 300 two banger.

  • my gas gas 280 two banger is way too easy to ride through this stuff, thats why i like my 300.

  • really good technical skill ;)

  • nice vid, ur backyard looks pretty cool

  • Cool Vid mate

  • salut super les mecs vient voir mes video aussi!

  • cool thanks. I think he says click his video too! ^ ^ ^

  • now that the xcw´s are out do they still sell the exc models??

  • i dont know, they have XC XCW SX ...they gotta have more than that.

    Thanks DontFlag

  • you have a nice backyard. And good skills.

  • about how much does a decent '96 ktm 300 go for?

  • i'd say $1000-2000 max.

Any dirtbike is worth $1000 if its what you want and in good shape.

unles you meant 2006, im selling mine for about $4300

  • Dude sweet vid! I have a KTM 400 EXC and im really thinking about buying a new 300xc... i love the low end my bike has.. i was wandering how you like your bike? Would i be better off with the 300xc or the 450xc?.. i do a lot of racing and tight trails riding... i like the four stroke but i kinda feel like tryin something new

  • I wish I have a backyard to practice like yours, very nice video!

  • What gearing are you running? I use a 12/52, combined with a Michelin trials tire on my 300 EXC. Nice riding, I only wish I could throw my bike around like that.

  • i think im on a 12/55. I know its a 55 in the back because i had to cut into the chain guide to make it fit.

But the bike in the video was the other bike that im trying to sell, its an XC. Probably had stock front teeth with rear 50 teeth. so 12or13/50?

I was clutching it a lot.

I havent ran a trials tire in the back, im gonna put one on ASAP.

Im building new obstacles in my yard, and i keep saying i'll make a video, but nobody around is good at filming. or should i say wants to film

  • How is the 300 EXC different to the XCW? BTW awesome riding. What kind of trials mtn bike did you have?

  • i use a Kona Stuff that is like 25 lbs, small frame.

I dont know much about EXC's

  • Cool

  • Damn, you make that look easy. great stuff

  • awsome riding man it takes alotta skill to throw a big bike like that around good job

  • thanks, i really want a 200, 10lbs lighter is a lot!

Or Scorpa T-ride. Those look awesome!

  • I'm having trouble with controlling my bike, as far as lifting and sort of turning the front end. Is there anything I should practice? Or is it something you eventually learn.

  • I learned by riding my Mtn Bike (trials/urban) just practice doing trials moves like nose stoppy while turning 90' deg on the front tire.

then you can try it on a dirtbike, the first few times, you will want to high side and get thrown off, but learn to lean into the center of mass and the rear will come around.

As for the front tire placement, like in the first section of the vid if you want your tire to go one place, your body (mass) HAS to go somewhere else, or you will fall.

  • At 22 seconds, the weight shift is obvious. I never really watched training videos or got any tips, i kinda just evolved my style with time. its actually taken a long time since age 5, im 21 now haha. But im not complaining, no broken bones from dirtbikes yet

  • nice video

  • thanks. I keep saying i'll make a new one...hasnt happened yet.

  • Very nice riding, you either have a trial background or you know how to handle the bike ;)

  • haha thanks. i started when i was 5 with these bikes:

    XR50 sold it for

    XR80 sold it for

    XR250 sold it for

YAM TTR125L (playbike for MX) sold it for

Gas Gas Trials for about 2 years, still have it, for sale $2500

Rode my Dads KTM 400, then i bought the 300

Two Strokes rule IMO, coming from a 4 stroke background. They are so precise.

This video is getting kinda old and boring, i'll film another one, and actually get someone to hold the camera.

  • how do you like the gearing and suspension on the xc-w and with your xc do you feel its in between a woods bike and a mx bike?

  • i originally bought the XC, but then hated the gearing so i bought the XCW.

The XC is actually growing on me and it isnt for sale anymore since my Dad is taking it over since his KTM 400 4 strk overheats on the tight stuff.

The XC is basically SX suspension that is set for trails. Its definitely stiffer than the XCW's for example going over that big log bucks you when it should absorb the impact better

  • Gearing:

XCW first gear 5 mph Top gear 75mph

XC first gear 5 mph Top gear 50mph

i geared the XC down to 12-55 so it would crawl at 2 mph but that makes top speed about 35 mph.

The XC is fast enough for any type of riding as long as youre willing to rev it to 8000 rpms and rebuild the engine every year. I decided i DIDNT wnat to rev it out so i bought the XCW so i could cruise at 60 mph and not pin it at 60 mph.

  • When your on the tight singletrack, the XC is great because there is a perfect gear for every hill and turn.

The XCW you have to get the revs up higher before you shift to prevent bogging out. So when the XC can ride at medium RPMS on any trail, the XCW is either bogging out or overrevved.

  • Of course these words sound worse than it actually is, both bikes are great and are pretty similar on the trail. But if you need to ride fireroads for 10 minutes to get to your tight trails, you might like cruising a XCW at 3000 rpms at 50mph rather than an XC at 6000 rpms at 50 mph. It just felt like i was destroying my XC whenever i went fast for a long time.

  • suspension: both can be suited for trails by a suspension professional for about $300

The XC suspension has 2 options for handlebar position, one is centered and other is 40 mm forward so that is nice i thought, also the billet and machining looks way better on the XC.

Hope that helps, i wish i had all this info before making a $5000 mistake

  • haha if it wasnt 40 degrees out right now!

maybe this weekend i'll make another, and include a top speed of each bike.

  • thats my XC in the video, my bike is the XCW, i forgot when making the title haha.

if you look at my other videos, the XC is for sale in its own video.

  • Nice dude...yeah top speed on that XC is like 50 mph lol...i have an XCW now (since im selling the XC in the video) i run a 12T front-55T rear gearing which is the slowest you can gear without too much modification, i had to grind the chain guide down to fit the 55T.

  • Youll be happier with the XC-W, i really dont know why KTM would make and XC geared bike, because its pretty course specific, you have to change gearing for each race to be competitive. The XCW will work across all types of riding since it will go 10-15 mph faster at a given RPM in top gear.

  • I also have a Steahly Flywheel which allows it to lug a bit more and smooths out power, But the bike in the video is 13T/48T so it goes like 70mph and im still doing everything in the video without stalling, just a lot of clutching. My Dads 2005 400 EXC overheats when he follows me on the tight trails, the 300's rule.

  • and remember that your pipe will get crushed hanging as low as it does! haha too bad there isnt a low profile pipe like trials bikes have.

  • sucked
