@RockNimbie Me too! My favourite track from "Pod" is "Fortunately Gone" and this brilliant song by PJ totally reminds of that song plus I love the cello so much in "Plants and rags".
I hope PJ will win the Mercury Prize again even though it's one of the most pathetic awards ever she totally deserves any prize she gets.
@RockNimbie Very similar production at least lol, both incredibly difficult to hear the vocals. Steve Albini worked on Pod, and he also worked on Rid of Me, the album after this one, so there's another similarity.
@ScienceProjek probably because this album came out in 1992, oh yea and because PJ is a phenomenally amazing and complex artist and Courtney Love is a hot mess
@drdoobi I don't mind saying PJ is phenomenally amazing, but at the same time this album came out, Courtney Love was phenomenally amazing, also. She only became a hot mess a few years later. Dry and Pretty On The Inside are two amazing albums.
@Frankenqueenie Not alone, you two. Love everything PJ, music, her beauty, class, everything. And Courtney is just an important part of my life. Her music that is. Love them both, personally and musically.
This literally sounds like a lost track from 1994's "Live Through This" by Hole, This wouldn't be out of place at all. I never heard this, except for the last time I left a comment which was 2 days ago. I love it!
@moonlily1 Oh Okay, Because I'm NEW to this song. I just finished writing 2 comments stating how much this sounds like a lost track from Hole's 1994 album "Live Through This". I can soooo hear Courtney Love doing this song, i love it!

I don't know why, but this song kind of remind me of the "Pod"-era Breeders. Maybe, that's why it's my favourite PJ song.
And oh, I love those cascading cellos and violins.
(Hm, and I see no resemblance with Courtney Love and Hole, though I like their early stuff, especially "Pretty on the Inside").

@n0td4v3 I love PJ Harvey and Hole too haha! It's funny cuz their music's so different- both really great though and overlooked in my opinion.
