  • 1/2 the horsepower isn't saying much as a stock B18A1 made at best 140hp at the crank! It seems you have a decent suspension set up though as it "appears" you are hauling ass in the video. BUT more than likely that is a stock C4 on street tires and the guy was just out trying to enjoy a track day till a typical Honda kid tries to make it a race. Were that a serious driver in a car set up for racing, you wouldn't have posted the resulting video. Nice try though.

  • If watch at about 2:39, the guy in the Vette waves the other car by. You can tell easily the guy in the Vette was hardly trying. If he knew what he was doing and was driving hard, there wouldn't even be a contest. The 1984 Vette would do .90 Gs better than any foreign or domestic car at the time except for a race prepped Porsche.

  • First of all, on more than one occasion the Corvette took a garbage line indicating the driver wasn't all that. You yourself have a passenger which means you aren't signed off. It's not a subjective comparison.

    With a 235whp B18C/Jun3/ITB'd Civic sitting outside my house as I type this, the C4 Corvette with the Z51 package put down the same numbers on the skidpad as the S2000. They are fully independent just like the S2k...you have no "double" anything on a Vette beside double the rust.

  • Hondas weren't made to be horsepower monsters, they were made to be good commuter cars, but were still closer to being supercars then the corvette. and for those of you that think that the corvette was a supercar, you'd be wrong (i did my research), but if you search honda/acura did produce a supercar....the NSX-R, which even today is still considered to be a top supercar. can it beat a corvette in a drag race? no, but put it in the twisties and the corvette wouldn't be able to hold its own.

  • i'm not going to take anything away from the corvette, but come on people give an import a break. up until roughly 5 years ago, one of the measurement of a supercar was that it had to produce at least (and remember i said at least) 100 hp per liter of displacement. a c4 put out 350 at the crank, that means it made roughly 61 hp per liter. a honda/acura type r engine makes around 180 hp give or take a couple leaving it at around 100 hp per liter (type r's are 1.8L)

  • c4s arent shitty... they are far from it and they kept the vette (best sports car in history) alive. Ricers can go to hell and annoy the devil with the high pitch wine of there "engines"

  • I have owned and driven both on the track. The Integra is much easier to drive for a beginner. The Corvette is more of an advanced driver's car. In experienced hands the Corvette will blow away the Integra. In rookie hands the Integra feels more nimble and the Corvette is hard to drive near the limit if you are easily scared.

  • I bet my C4 Vette would toast your Acura Integra. My boy had a fully tricked Integra- Im talkin not crank/pistons/rr chips/headers/ etc- and it wasn't even a race. That same kid bought a Subi STI and now we are completely even. I have a C4 LS4 375HP. I added a chip- Headers- and an Intake which brought me to 440hp.

  • Also im not tryin to fight-just like Healthy Competition ;) but for real, if your Ac can beat the new 08 Subi STI Wagon then it must be one hell of a machine. My Vette and my friends Subi STI are neck and neck. Ive beaten him a bunch of times and hes beaten me a bunch of times. when we race its down to Shifting. He has headers/Chip/a forged Pistons and Crank in his STI. I have similiar mods in my Vette only I have a shitload more torque than he has that with turbo lag i pull on him on highways.

You can pick up a damn good c4 for $8000 now a days. And that "$3000" integra, well, you'd have to put a lot more than $5000 in it to beat the $8000 vette.     You could easily keep up with a vette for 5 grand in a Integra. Hell I did it for half that. I'm putting 300 to the wheels in my DA and I don't have more than $2500 into my turbo kit and motor. So I make similiar power to a c4 and weigh a thousand pounds less. Never raced one before but I don't see why I wouldn't spank it.

  • at 2:34 into the video, all I saw was the Vet driver let out of the gas move to the side and motion the Integra on by. the guy driving the Vet looked like he was babying the car around the track. prolly his 1st time on a road course. the stock corvettes suspension could also be upgraded and it would be no contest. nothing against imports , just making a point.

  • I have a DA and the handling for it is excellent. I drove my uncles C4 vette and they don't turn as well unless its a C5 and up. C4's are still powerful but this vette is old and the motor is probably worn out.

  • You should have just stopped after the first sentence my friend. Cause everything else after that is just pure ignorance. The C4 suspension is arguably the best design of all the corvettes. Handles better than all the others. Just cause its old, doesn't mean it still isn't great. The engine isn't worn out, hell its probably just now getting broken in. If you've ever built an engine before, you'd probably have known that. Installing a cold air kit doesn't qualify you to talk though...

  • Exactly, I own 2 C4s and I'm a mechanic. I have one car with over 200K miles that I've never rebuilt because it runs like a sewing machine! Barely a puff of smoke as soon as it cranks & thats it. The valve covers have never even been off the thing. I just wanna see how far it goes before I have to do more to it than change the oil and filters, haha. And like I said before, 0.95g on the first C4s to leave the factory. For what you pay for them now, you just can't beat that performance anywhere!

  • lol the guy did say that he modded the suspension but not the engine. So obviously there is no hp compared to the vette. As you can see the da was right on it's tail on the corner. if it was track with more turns, the vette would have ate it's dust. LMAO

    lmao domestic cars need a v6 just to produce 250hp, and compared to a japanese engine with 200hp being produced from just a 4cyl. HAHAHA

J/K ;p Great driving, you were clearly much more aggressive than the C4. I had a late model RX7 just hound me at RA in my WS6, I was like WTH? How TF is he keeping up? I did get him too confess it was a turbo RX, tho. ;) We both had comp tires, it was a blast. Also look up "racing elise v corvette", awesome vid.

  • Not trying to run my mouth, but theres no way in hell the acura weights 3600 lbs, like the other guy said, you've got a typo. That car weighs 2600 lbs. And the vette weights around 3400lbs. The jap car has almost half a ton to his advantage.  The driver did a good job. But don't ever compare a honda to a corvette. Ever.

  • I have a GSR with about 8k into it 2k being on suspension alone and I am getting a C4 for the very reason everyone is explaining. The C4 is a milestone in the history of sports cars. It has a better platform and all around is a better car. Now the integra does have its advantages when it comes to the track but the corvettes advantages outweigh the tegs advantages by tenfold. I am however impressed with another integra owner stepping up to the plate and pushing the limits on a track.
