Always Kim for me. Kat always really got on my nerves. I don't like her. Plus, Kim seems like the better fighter for me. Kat mainly just used her powers in her Ninja form and was only able to flip because of the powers. Kim was using more skills.
Amy jO johnson aka Kimberly all day best pink ranger Fuck Catherine Sutherland i hate her she cant even flip and shes weak in fighting as well When Amy jo left Power rangers i stoped watching it and they put on Kat as a Boring ass pink ranger I love my Amy jo Johnson she can backflip and do everything better then that other bitch thats why Catherline Sutherland got her ass kicked my Amy Jo in Turbo the moive i was dying oh yah a sweetie pink is out Kimberly all day Love her my Future Wifey to be
I think Katherine is good, but Kimberly actually focused on fighting the tengas instead of testing her powers.Overall,in this fight,I gotta go with Kimberly but Kat has been a power ranger longer than Kimberly. In this fight I like Kim,but I like Kat better a power ranger period.
@arit307 Kat was a ranger through half of Season 3, all of Season 4, and half of Season 5 which totals 88 episodes. Kim was a ranger through all of Season 1, all of Season 2, and half of Season 3 which totals 136 episodes. Kim was a ranger longer.
People sure seem to hold a grudge against Kat for being under a spell yet they look the other way for Tommy who wanted to destroy Jason. Anyway....
I'm a huge Kat fan, but I will admit that Kim was indeed a better fighter. But people need to keep in mind that Kimberly grew up with Jason and was probably instructed by him for at least self defense. Kat grew up away from that scene focusing on her ballet and diving... no need to fight. Keeping that in mind I felt that Kat held her own fairly well.
Kim was the superior Pink Ranger for the simple fact is she was a natural choice when Kat had no confidence in herself at all. A lot of her experience was the spell she was under as far as fighting. When you look at her first fight you plainly see it too. I am guessing she had to be taught martial arts. Kim, on the other hand had already been a martial artist for many years, no doubt taught by Jason. It is i am sure why Kim had an easier time in battle than Kat.
This comparison really wasn't fair. I think that Kim was a better Ranger than Kat, but this really didn't represent Kat very well. It basically showed Kim kicking butt after three seasons of being a Ranger compared to Kat's first fight EVER, hardly a fair match-up. If you wanted to do a good comparison, you should have compared both of their first fights to see who handled it better. On top of that, if you're going to do a comparison trilogy, remain impartial. You're very clearly Kim-biased.
@randmperson2 If you had looked at the description for the first video in the trilogy, you would know that the whole reason I made it was to prove that Kim was a better fighter than Kat because of a crazy Kat stan who said otherwise. Obviously, I'm going to use the best of Kim and Kat (if possible) to compare. Kat only had one significant Tenga fight in Season 3 so I had to split it up to compare to Kim. As for being biased, Kim was the better fighter, period. That fact does not make me biased.
@Devotedlamb19 I actually did read the description for your first video, so I know why you made these videos. However, like I said, if you're going to compare (even if you think you know who is better), you have to show the good points of both Kim and Kat. And your last two sentences kind of contradict each other anyway. You can't compare them if you're going to have a clear winner in mind already. You're not really proving Kim is better if you're going to short-change Kat.
@randmperson2 Your second to last sentence in and of itself is sort of a fallacy. Just because you have a preference for someone over another doesn't mean you can't be objective when comparing. As I said, I used the best of both. I already knew that Kim was the better fighter, but I decided to give people a visual so they could decide for themselves and the overwhelming consensus agrees with me. It was not my intention to short-change Kat in any way.
@Devotedlamb19 And I do agree with you, as I said in my first comment. Kim was a better Ranger, but I still did like Kat once she came in to her own. That was my only issue with this video was that you were comparing an experienced Kim with an inexperienced Kat, which would clearly show Kim being the better fighter. I was just saying that, for you to be more fair, it would have been better to compare both of their first fights to show who was better right off the bat.
@randmperson2 Well I remember Kim's first tenga fight and she really only used her powers to dodge the Tengas. She never actually hit one so to compare that fight to Kat's first fight would be extremely biased in Kat's direction. And when you talk experience, I think the second video is the best one in that respect. Both had been on the show for almost the same amount of time (S2 Kim vs S5 Kat) and so both had the same experience.
@Devotedlamb19 I was talking more of Kim's first fight ever, back in MMPR. I don't recall it perfectly, but it would fit more with your comparison because Kim's first fight and Kat's first fight would show a lot of difference in terms of maturity if this video is anything to judge by.
Katherine can't fight its the powers that are helping her do it without the powers she can't seem to do anything. Not only that through out the series she looked to be real dependent on Tommy where as Kim could hold her own. Like it was said before Kim mixes her gymnastics with her martial arts and uses her flexibility to her advantage which makes her even harder to beat so over all she's better then Katherine.
I like both girls. Kim is cool because she was the original and Amy Jo Johnson could really fight, and Kat because she was new and cool, love her Aussie accent, and she was a good actress :)
Kimberly was the best pink ranger..EVER! Hands down! It wasn't just her fighting ability, and gymnastics ability. It was her sass, her personality. She was amazing, and it wouldn't of been the same show without her.
wow 2 me kim always the best fighter in the rangers ep n kat she alright.i was planning 2 do that kat vs. kim the only i cant do it becuase my computer wont make me put download video like u guys do but goodjob .
They were pretty equal but Katherine's tenga fight was to silly to me. It came off like anyone could take the ninja powers and fight awesome.
Katherine really didn't use the tenga powers that much but I wish they would have shown her utilizing the strength of the pink ninja which was superspeed she never did.
I completely agree, she didn't act like a real ranger. In fact, she came off as childishly cocky, and it was an insult to the other rangers (Kimberly included) because she acted like her fighting prowess came solely from the Pink Ninja power coin and not from her own abilities. The others used the ninja powers in combination with their own abilities, and this fight suggested that Kat had none of her own, relying only on the Ninja powers.
I could see what they were trying to do but Katherine was a mature girl and they should have played it that way. She wasn't that goofy acting, it just came off silly and out of character for her.,
OMG I couldn't agree more. This fact alone made it sound like just anybody could become a power ranger. Zordon said they couldn't always rely on their powers, so they had to have skills without them. Her reaction just cheapened what they were all about.
You missed the original concept of the show, it was never about how great of a fighter you were, it was what you would add to the team as a person that made you a perfect selection as a ranger. That's why I like Kat. She is different. I don't agree with what you're saying, because there has been times when she was in situations and she is not a fighter at the time, but she still made it through without morphing. Dog Day Afternoon, Master Vile episode. Yes the powers do help them fight.
We know the show wasn't all about fighting but this video and the two before it are about which Pink Ranger is the better fighter and the answer is Kimberly.
No one missed the concept of the show. You just completely missed the concept of the video.
First of all they were chosen to be "warriors" to protect and save Earth, which is exactly why certain people are chosen and have been for 17 seasons. What did she do in "Hogday afternoon" or Master vile & Metallic Armor eps that was so great? Hogday was all about Aisha and in Master vile her plan to pretend to be evil backfired as she blew her cover in a matter of seconds, they knew Tommy was there too.
So how exactly did she help, by needing to be rescued? She could've played the evil part better, like say grabbing Rita or Zedd's staff or something. Also if she was so great how come she let an innocent girl fall over a cliff, knowing she was coming, but put's the effort to stop Billy and Tommy. How about putting a search for a dog over telling the team about the villian's plans to have lava spread throughout Angel Grove? Or Passing the Torch/King for a day where her only concern was Tommy?
He was the one in trouble in those episodes, no one is blowing smoke at him. She did her part. To some she would be a favorite. It may be just based on the fact that we like her personality and that she was different than the average white all american girl in california who only cares about shopping.
dude thats unnecessary. I been watching this show since its been on. I have my likes and dislikes. I like Kim. I like Kat. I like the fact that she was not a superfighter. That's me. I understand this vid is about who's the better fighter. Okay. My opinion I like kim and Kat. For different reasons. And ohranger sentai pinkl ranger was chinese boxing which is not alot like the other styles of fighting used on the show.
Kim wasn't a superfighter either, and neither were many rangers...well mainly from the Saban years.
Don't be tryna sound neutral after what you said about Kim. No one is talking about Japanese footage either, you forget there was American footage too. This vid is about ninja power anyway.
He was in trouble, but others were also focusing on the the fact that there were prisoners. Go watch both of them and see Tanya's reaction to Kat focus on Tommy, EVEN after seeing Angel grove or others were in danger. Even Kim knew Tommy had to wait.
Well coming in a video with a thoughtless comment about how Kim was just some typical all american valley girl who ONLY cared about shopping and talking about something irrelevant to what anyone is discussing or the video itself sounds like you want to argue. Kat showed braviery and courage when she wasn't some prop for Tommy, but some thing she did like escalading situation (Every dog has his day), LETTING Heather go over a cliff, and showing little concern over the lives of many when
it wasn't her own interest doesn't sound like a true ranger in my eyes. I mean even when Tommy's brother went missing, she brushed it off and told Tommy he'd be fine. How could Tommy, who just found his brother, be so sure. I mean he was captured before. Kat was sweet, but also selfish. It doesn't mean she was a horrible person, because no one is perfect.
Kim was a all american valley girl at first. But she grown alot too. I disagree about Heather. She tied her jacket in to help Heather too. I don't want to argue. And Ninja is american footage and I thought she was good during the ninja period. even though it's not the actual actors which is why i find this morphed figher argument senseless.
DevotedLamb was trying to be fair since Kat hardly had any unmorphed fight scenes. He did one from s3 and one from s2 and zeo. Their was a difference even in American footage because even Kat's American morphed footage was weaker than Kim's. They never let Kat be a good fighter over her tenure. Her one fight that she did something major was against some silly, cowardly monster.
DevotedLamb handled things better than you. You are acting like a child. Her footage was weaker according to you. That's not a fact. Dude, fuck it. I'm done arguing with you. It's a show. like who you wanna like.
I meant Every Dog has it's day. At the end of the day she was a warrior. They all were. I understand the concept of the video. But the concept of the video does not have any validation in the reason why Kat was chosen to be a ranger. They were not trying to create a character like kimberly. That's just my point. I wouldn't have liked the fact if she came on and was all of a sudden superwoman unmorphed. I like that it happened gradually. Kim was a great fighter.
At the end of the day her team had to bail her out because of her selfish interest. She put a dog she had NO IDEA was at above the innocent lives of others. This video is not about validating anyone as a ranger it's about comparing fighting because certain Kat stans said she was a better fighter than Kim. And if Kim only cared about shopping she wouldn't have fought with the flu, stood up for Kat with little energy left, and so on. She cared about her job, even enough to give up her dreams
Never once did she really need bailing out. As I said. I like Kat and I like Kim. They are different. At the end of the day they both helped save the day. I understand this is a battle about the better fighter. Yes Kim is the better unmorphed fighter. Morphed not really fair to say considering they used memo who was a chinese boxer in sentai for zeo. So her moves were very limited to just hand movements.
Her last episode she needed bailing out, and even then she was too busy WATCHING Tommy being dragged off instead of displaying some courage which she told Tommy she had back in MMPR. Even complained about being tired when TJ and Cassie were the ones doing all the fighting. She was bailed out from Archerina twice, and in one fight she didn't even try to put up a fight. She also called for Tommy to bail her out when one cog punched her, and twice he had to teleport in front of her to save her.
She did fight her way through on her last ep. They only showed cassie and tj. It's tv. They all said they were tired. I remember the fights with archerina. I don't think that means anything. Every ranger got the crap beat out of them before. I don't know why you are fighting this so hard.
No she didn't! They ran up to her and then she ran trying to get Tommy. Then when they started fighting again she just sat there and watched them fight. She watched them fight before then as well. I'm not fighting anything, just correcting your comments. My point is how can Kat complain about being tired when she did next to nothing. She even complained about being winded in Africa when Tommy had on more clothes than her. With Archerina, I think it means alot that the price was her friends'
freedom and her best was literally doing nothing but take hits. Even when previous rangers got whooped they at least tried to fight back. Kim was never just a typical valley, she was never self-absorbed, only concerned with her looks nor was she a bitch to anyone. About the only thing valley about her was her accent. She was not the same Kim from the pilot with Audri Dubois who complained about her nails.
I said Kim had character development. If you would stop trying to argue over the place. And clearlly you are a Kim stan to the point you have to knock others for her benefit which is immature, but this is about power rangers so I should expect immaturity from most viewers.
Yeah you said that after I corrected you asinine comment about Kim. Saying someone showed growth doesn't mean you know anything about them. I don't have to knock anyone for anything. You calling someone a stan is being childish and inmmature. Not once did I even call u a Kat stan, although I wouldn't be surprised. Just like you saying you disagree with 13 ppl and such, you obviously had something to say. I'll challenge a comment if it's not based on facts. Done it for many rangers.
Dude you are very irrational. If you are acting like a stan. You can't let one comment I said about Kim go. That's a stan. I say I like Kat and Kim equal, you couldn't except that. You had to go on and on about how you thought she was weaker and how she was a bad ranger( thats pretty much what you are trying to say, don't deny it) You have several pics and videos on your page of kim. You are a kim stan.
I have ONE pic of Kim on my page, and did you know my avatar was of other ppl before? No? Didn't think so.
Kim was my favorite ranger, so sue me. That doesn't mean anything about how I debate or my judgment. I'm not one of those Kim stans who's only reason to watch PR was to see Kim, and stopped when she left. I've also said other females have surpassed Kim and such. You only said you like Kim and Kat, not equally. Most of what I replied to was about Kat. Also....
Rocky, Adam and Aisha each fought along side the others rangers before Joining, as did Carlos and Ashley with Adam, and in boths time the veterans were still kicking butt. They didn't just stop and watch the civilians do all the work. Script or not it was Katherine's character. In the command center Tommy was still all she talked about which is why I said look at Tanya's reaction.
Anyone who's knows about film tv and story would know why the character did that. And yes I meant the comment I said about Kim. I never denied that, but I think she grown greatly.
I can agree that they both showed development but Katherine did need bailing out in the episodes you stated. "Every Dog has its Day" she fought strong but she didn't finish him, she was toast if the others didn't show up. In "A Mystery to me" she was beaten easily by Acherina, she never landed a hit. In "Metallic Armor" she put the pink power on the line and she was bailed out by Tommy, I can't see that can be argued against. Kat was decent but she was no Jen or Kim.
She was not like a Jen or a Kim. Jen was an attempt of bringing a Kim like character back. I think Cassie was great too and I really like Kendrix. I liked it back when rangers had differentpersonalities. Her getting beat up by archerina was the sentai footage. My point is the same things you argue about Kat I can argue about Kim as well. In the movie how many times did she need recuing, leaving her power coin to get stolen. I mean nothing wrong with this, but if it was kat you all would
The same amount Katherine did in the Turbo movie, what did she do in that movie other then be rescued by Tommy? Sorry I hate being negative but the sentai footage is a big part of the characters fighting . It was sentai footage but it was still Katherine getting beat quite badly. We can't pick and choose the sentai footage we like, if they use it it is the character in question. The power coin is a low blow ALL the rangers coins were out in the open including the guys on the other table.
Where in the Turbo movie are you talking about simply that part where she is hanging off a cliff. I would hope she would ask for help and really she only called for him once in that scene. In that ep none of the other coins were scene. It was just hers in the open backpack zipper. I am not trying to fight dirty, but since some want to play that way. I had to bring that up too. Before Kat came I defended kim for that too. She sure did get the job done on Zeo.
I have never said I hated Katherine, she had some great moments but she was far from a great fighter. She wasn't a fighter in the first place that held her back but neither was Kimberly and she was able to take out three monsters on her own. Jen wasn't anything like Kimberly. She was hard, kind of cold and well trained in fighting. She was strictly all business.
Kim had taken martial arts in the beginning. That was clear. They took on bulk and skull and she was fighting the putties near the command center. I'm glad Kat wasn't a fighter. I didn't want a replica of a previous character.
If you read my other messages, I never disputed Kim as a good fighter. As I said I like Kat in spite of not starting off as a martial artist. She had other qualities. and It was rare that she needed rescuing like you two are saying. And certain things are being misinterpreted by you all to prove your points like the fight scene in Passing of the torch. Because she stopped and noticed cassie and tj helping her that made her a bad pink ranger? That's being very picky.
I never said you disputed that and I never said I didn't like Katherine but saying she rarely needed help is a hard for me to agree with especially in Zeo. There is a span of 3 (other then the ones we talked about) episodes in 5 episod from Zeo that she called for Tommy. I never brought "Passing the Torch" I think they could have gave her better choreography then they did, even if she had no martial arts at the beginning she had been a ranger for 2 by then and should have looked sharper.
Its TV. first. Second, The coin is the soul thing that gives them the ability to physically fight. The others had unmorphed fighting skills, but that was not why they were chosen. It was a skill, but it was about the person and what they could bring to the team. You didn't have to be great at martial arts to be a ranger. Not every ranger has been at first. That's called character development. Billy, Tanya, Damon, Maya, Mystic Force rangers, were not fighters like that at first.
But couldn't one make the argument that maybe Katherine's innate abilities couldn't connect to the "Ninja" powers behind the coin since the original power source for the coin was Kimberly's inner strength. It's possible that though Katheirine was given the same power as Kimberly, her connection to the coin was different, maybe weaker somehow (disconnecting the coin from Kimberly's life source wouldn't matter, as the abilities the coin gives would be based on Kim's not Kat's strengths).
That actually makes sense. But her abilities were only shown on the first Tenga fight. After that she never showed that kind of prowess in the third season again.
Because the writers were so focused on making Katherine a prop, while also trying to make her a flawless character (diver, surfer, prima ballerina-as if anyone can condition their body perfectly for 3 sports, dog trainer, chimp trainer valedictorian) while also turning her into Tommy's prop. Sad b/c Kat did have a lot of potential, the writers didn't give her a chance, they decided who she was before they saw her in action.
Kim could have become a prop too, but since Kim was popular in her own right, and since she was a senior ranger to Tommy, that was prevented. Kat and more importantly Catherine Sutherland deserved more. Most of the actors on the series did...
I agree. I think Trini could've gotten more screen time, Jason's love life could've been explored, and Rocky's character never really developed into the leader role, even though he was supposed to be second in command. With Kat, I don't have to say anything, but her character was stiffed because she was unpopular.
I think they tried to make Kat perfect to deal with the backlash, I feel for any character who had to directly replace Kim, but by trying to "white-wash" the character, it just exacerbated the situation.
I probably feel worst for Billy/David. He'd been on for so long, the character should have been given a story, respected. The character who invented the communicators by the 2nd episode...he deserved more...
Well, I think he got more focus compared to everyone else except for Tommy and Kimberly and that was because they were the Official Couple. What would you like to have seen done?
Hmm, I don't think that Billy got much focus, it's more that he was in a lot of episodes since David stayed with the show so long. There are a lot of things I would have liked, but I think the one thing that annoys me most of all, is that pretty soon after Kim leaves, it's written so that the remaining ORIGINAL ranger can't have powers. That just irritates me. He was the only original left! Rude to the character, and actor. I don't blame David for leaving (I think he walked out?)...
@Devotedlamb19 The thing about that first fight that bugs me is you could probably ask Katherine how she beat the tengas and she'd have no idea. There was no skill here it was the powers that won the fight. Her reactions showed she had no idea what she was doing and that she was surprised at her new strength and moves. Take away the ninja powers and she would have been a bit helpless and confined to stomping on monster's toes.
@BLS0817 Exactly. She had no skill of her own. She was victorious only because of the Ninja powers. Without them, those Tengas would've overwhelmed Kat easily. Heck, even with the Ninja abilities she was scared of them initially.
@Devotedlamb19 I understood they were playing it different since she wasn't a martial artist but its slightly annoying that we never saw her really train to better herself, they acted like she was just a good fighter. Even Billy was shown taking considerable time to get better, with Katherine she was off in that first fight but then they acted like she was as good as the others after that.
@BLS0817 That bugs & confuses me. In that first fight, they made Katherine out to be this amazing martial artist and then in every subsequent battle, her level of skill was less than what was initially shown. Add to that the fact that she was almost completely dependent on Tommy (and to an extent Jason in Zeo) and you have to wonder what the hell the writers were thinking.
I think Kim's battles utilized alot more technique (in general), and she was obviously more in tune with her powers. I believe every ranger shared the same powers, because super speed wasn't unique to Kim.
Kat's first battle bother's me because she made it appear like it was super easy to take down tengas. In the others' first battle, there was some struggle, but they would find a way to take get the upper hand.
For now, all I will say is my channel has mostly become a PR channel. I'm a HUGE Kim fan and will defend her if people lie and/or talk a bunch of shit about her. If you want to talk about someone, get your facts straight and toss the bias aside. Even if you think you KNOW something, chances are you probably don't and need to rewatch an ep or maybe an entire season and stop seeing what you want to see.
And how can you blame Kat fans for knowing you wrong.
FYI I proudly admit to being a Kim fan. Just like I said I was an AMy fanboy= key words being fan and boy. That doesn't mean I'm not a fan of other rangers or have posters of Amy on the wall (never have either). Stans are pretty much ride or die. Assuming wrong things and failure to acknowledge other angles is why you will continue to look immature and petty. If u were so above all this why didn't u just stop commenting? Obviously it interests, ain't nothing wrong with that.
Where have I not acknowledged other "angels" . I can debate with people and not have it be so nasty like you make it. I can't be like you and spew opinions and call them facts. I know what a fanboy is. I watch my MTV(truelife's recent episode on fanboys). I love Kat. I have to be honest I like the fact over anything else that she was an average civillian who has grown to really be a good power ranger. Like Billy. I like characters like that.
What did I say that was really opinion? Hell these videos alone showcase how different their fight footage was. You watch TV to know what something is? Did it ever occur to not everyone is the same? Hell I called myself a Amy fanboy because I had a crush on her and like her work, doesn't mean I listen to her music or have seen all of her work (which I haven't). "Angles" were how we compared fight footage and differences and then u come in here talking about the power gave them the ability to
physically fight. I made a point earlier about how they were told they couldn't always rely on that power. They were only to morph in emergency. Kim was only a gymnast, and while Billy's main thing was science, so was he. They were all supposed to be average civilians, just because someone knows karate doesn't mean they are above average. I also don't think Kat being some pan global diver, skier, prima ballerina, or singer is exactly average either. These were exemplary teens.
I didn't say you were above average cause you know karate. The characters in the recent disney shows fight the way a ranger would morphed and it annoys me. That's what I'm referring too. The thing is not everybody is gonna know karate like a billy or kat. but the fact that they learned and grew that aspect says alot.
and this proves I'm a Kim stan how? By telling someone how to properly debate? People do need to rewatch or research things before making comments or misjudging someone (on TV or in real life). You can think you know something and be completely wrong. FACT.
If you really knew anything about me you'd know that comment goes above and beyond just Kimberly.
you wanted an exchange by saying "I disagree with all 13 of you. Thank you." eventhough most of us were talking about the actual footage shown. And fact is Kat suddenly doing flips and what not without showing any prior skills at all aside from diving, wasn't realistic which is what I was talking about in this vid. She made it look like all the ranger ever had to do was morph and wham they are awesome fighters. Even Billy showcased some skill in his early days. Kim too. Also since you did
mention ppl like Maya and Damon, you'd note that they showed some strength or courage before morphing. I suppose I came off hard on Kat in this vid, but the eps you listed showcased her at her worst and that's the only reason I said the things I did. I called you a troll because first you call out 13 ppl for no reason. Then you say ppl don't like Kat because she's not Kim (true but not entirely), and then said Kim was "just" a typical all American valley girl when she was alot more then that.
Lastly since you decided to use my page, wrongly (blocked naturally), you would've noticed my page had alot of favorites from people I'm youtube friends with. I don't even see all their vids, but several of them send me their vids to see, if I like it I'll add. I mean sheesh if I hated Kat so much and only cared about Kim, I'd just be favoriting Kim vids only and any vid making Kat look bad.
Wasn't it Kat that went in to get Kim's coin back. After being evil didn't she go to Kim and tell the truth. That's not cowardly to me. If I was a writer I would make the pink ranger's episode focus around Tommy too, if I know that's what everyone want to see. And originally Kim was an all American valley girl to me. I think she has grown alot throughout the series. Buffy was a all american vallley girl before she was a kick ass slayer. No biggy.
Billy did not show fighting skill at all early on. Watch Day of the Dumpster. When you morph realistically, you are able to do those things. How you make decisions as a ranger is more focused on the skill and personality of the individual themself.
(cont) When kimberly ask for help and then kicks ass later, I like that. I don't like consistant victory in a story. Thats why I like Kat cause overall she was not in some martial arts training, but she had a great spirit and desire for teamwork and she gained what she needed and she contributed to the series. And I like change once there is development. Kimberly developed and she left. That was good. Same with Kat. Recent seasons they just come fighting machines and leave fighting machin
If you noticed I said they used Katherine as a device for Tommy. All of the rangers, even Jason and Tommy asked for help, but the problem with Kat is that she never got to be the heroine, except one time, she was always calling for help, even in the end. I hated that about her character. Like the fight with Digster she used everything she had (in succession), but did no harm to it. Why not show her think of something new? No they basically made sure she was shown as weak to warrant more Tommy.
I disagree. She sprained her ankle. It showed her humanity. No was not the heroine, not everyone can be. She shines in the Weight and See episode where she kicked the number monsters butt. She shines in the Rita's Pita episode. While she was alone with tengues, she didn't call for help. She did not call for Tommy most of the time. Kim did that way more than Kat. Nothing wrong with that, but she relied on Tommy just as much.
She did in the movie during the ninjetti scenes. The Tengues carrying her away. When the Tengues were carrying her away in that episode with the picaso. I mean I understand stuff like that happens. I don't knock her for that, but to knock Kat for the same things is pointless.
Those were two instances and in the first one, I don't think Tommy bailed her out, the tenga/tengu dropped her. Yes, she asked for Tommy's help in the picaso episode but she was doing fine before-hand and don't forget, she kicked that monster's butt on her own later on in the episode.
Kimberly needed saving maybe four times in all her time on the show. Katherine needed saving twice as much in Zeo alone.
Excuse me, we didn't even see what she was doing before being carried away. Like I said I don't have issue with this, but you knock for the same things. It's not fair. You like Kim more than Kat, I respect that, but why bash her for things other pink rangers do as well and discredit everything she did because it's Tommy related.
Every ranger needed some help at some point, this is true, but Katherine was a special case because it seemed she couldn't do anything on her own. She always needed someone (mostly Tommy, since you brought it up) to save her. The Numbor monster was the only instance where she really took charge and shined. It's not really bashing, it's the truth.
If she could, why didn't she? The writers didn't show her as a being an independent strong ranger, they showed her as being dependent, irrational, and having low self-esteem. Her good qualities were in context of her personality, but they didn't help her as a fighter.
Well, in the movie when the Tengas were carrying her away, remember that was when she didn't have powers and all the non combative rangers were having trouble.
@josephjmg18 Actually Kat did call for Tommy A LOT.... and I 'm a huge Kat fan.... I've been watching all of the episodes with Kat in them lately and I do notice that Kat calls out for Tommy in almost everyone one of them.... Now keep in mind that Kat is my fav ranger but I have to admit the facts. I still love Kat. She will always be my fav because I connected more with her.
Even Catherine Sutherland makes the comment out her biggest line from Power Rangers was "Tommy!".

In this fight I like Kim,but I like Kat better a power ranger period.
arit307 7 months ago
@arit307 Kat was a ranger through half of Season 3, all of Season 4, and half of Season 5 which totals 88 episodes. Kim was a ranger through all of Season 1, all of Season 2, and half of Season 3 which totals 136 episodes. Kim was a ranger longer.

pwrgtimeforce4ever6 8 months ago 2
People sure seem to hold a grudge against Kat for being under a spell yet they look the other way for Tommy who wanted to destroy Jason. Anyway....
I'm a huge Kat fan, but I will admit that Kim was indeed a better fighter. But people need to keep in mind that Kimberly grew up with Jason and was probably instructed by him for at least self defense. Kat grew up away from that scene focusing on her ballet and diving... no need to fight. Keeping that in mind I felt that Kat held her own fairly well.
pinkstranger2004 10 months ago
Kim also had no powers when her and Jason fought the Tengas in the Turbo movie even after Lerigot turned them good again.
HailsHartford 1 year ago
Kim was the superior Pink Ranger for the simple fact is she was a natural choice when Kat had no confidence in herself at all. A lot of her experience was the spell she was under as far as fighting. When you look at her first fight you plainly see it too. I am guessing she had to be taught martial arts. Kim, on the other hand had already been a martial artist for many years, no doubt taught by Jason. It is i am sure why Kim had an easier time in battle than Kat.
HailsHartford 1 year ago
Kimberly was a much better fighter and character. She's the greatest Pink Ranger ever.

Is it just me or did the pink suit look duller after kat joined? i mean the pink just wasn't as bright as it was when kim wore it
pinkrangerfan2 1 year ago
This comparison really wasn't fair. I think that Kim was a better Ranger than Kat, but this really didn't represent Kat very well. It basically showed Kim kicking butt after three seasons of being a Ranger compared to Kat's first fight EVER, hardly a fair match-up. If you wanted to do a good comparison, you should have compared both of their first fights to see who handled it better. On top of that, if you're going to do a comparison trilogy, remain impartial. You're very clearly Kim-biased.
randmperson2 1 year ago
@randmperson2 If you had looked at the description for the first video in the trilogy, you would know that the whole reason I made it was to prove that Kim was a better fighter than Kat because of a crazy Kat stan who said otherwise. Obviously, I'm going to use the best of Kim and Kat (if possible) to compare. Kat only had one significant Tenga fight in Season 3 so I had to split it up to compare to Kim. As for being biased, Kim was the better fighter, period. That fact does not make me biased.
Devotedlamb19 1 year ago
@Devotedlamb19 I actually did read the description for your first video, so I know why you made these videos. However, like I said, if you're going to compare (even if you think you know who is better), you have to show the good points of both Kim and Kat. And your last two sentences kind of contradict each other anyway. You can't compare them if you're going to have a clear winner in mind already. You're not really proving Kim is better if you're going to short-change Kat.
randmperson2 1 year ago
@randmperson2 Your second to last sentence in and of itself is sort of a fallacy. Just because you have a preference for someone over another doesn't mean you can't be objective when comparing. As I said, I used the best of both. I already knew that Kim was the better fighter, but I decided to give people a visual so they could decide for themselves and the overwhelming consensus agrees with me. It was not my intention to short-change Kat in any way.
Devotedlamb19 1 year ago
@Devotedlamb19 And I do agree with you, as I said in my first comment. Kim was a better Ranger, but I still did like Kat once she came in to her own. That was my only issue with this video was that you were comparing an experienced Kim with an inexperienced Kat, which would clearly show Kim being the better fighter. I was just saying that, for you to be more fair, it would have been better to compare both of their first fights to show who was better right off the bat.
randmperson2 1 year ago
@randmperson2 Well I remember Kim's first tenga fight and she really only used her powers to dodge the Tengas. She never actually hit one so to compare that fight to Kat's first fight would be extremely biased in Kat's direction. And when you talk experience, I think the second video is the best one in that respect. Both had been on the show for almost the same amount of time (S2 Kim vs S5 Kat) and so both had the same experience.
Devotedlamb19 1 year ago
@Devotedlamb19 I was talking more of Kim's first fight ever, back in MMPR. I don't recall it perfectly, but it would fit more with your comparison because Kim's first fight and Kat's first fight would show a lot of difference in terms of maturity if this video is anything to judge by.
randmperson2 1 year ago
hahaha lol well its okay..its kinda sucks for kat cause she didnt really use her powers that much seeing she came so late into the series
iTRES4teen 1 year ago
Katherine can't fight its the powers that are helping her do it without the powers she can't seem to do anything. Not only that through out the series she looked to be real dependent on Tommy where as Kim could hold her own. Like it was said before Kim mixes her gymnastics with her martial arts and uses her flexibility to her advantage which makes her even harder to beat so over all she's better then Katherine.

They were pretty equal but Katherine's tenga fight was to silly to me. It came off like anyone could take the ninja powers and fight awesome.
Katherine really didn't use the tenga powers that much but I wish they would have shown her utilizing the strength of the pink ninja which was superspeed she never did.
BLS0817 2 years ago
I completely agree, she didn't act like a real ranger. In fact, she came off as childishly cocky, and it was an insult to the other rangers (Kimberly included) because she acted like her fighting prowess came solely from the Pink Ninja power coin and not from her own abilities. The others used the ninja powers in combination with their own abilities, and this fight suggested that Kat had none of her own, relying only on the Ninja powers.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
I could see what they were trying to do but Katherine was a mature girl and they should have played it that way. She wasn't that goofy acting, it just came off silly and out of character for her.,
BLS0817 2 years ago
OMG I couldn't agree more. This fact alone made it sound like just anybody could become a power ranger. Zordon said they couldn't always rely on their powers, so they had to have skills without them. Her reaction just cheapened what they were all about.
slickricklj 2 years ago 4
You missed the original concept of the show, it was never about how great of a fighter you were, it was what you would add to the team as a person that made you a perfect selection as a ranger. That's why I like Kat. She is different. I don't agree with what you're saying, because there has been times when she was in situations and she is not a fighter at the time, but she still made it through without morphing. Dog Day Afternoon, Master Vile episode. Yes the powers do help them fight.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
We know the show wasn't all about fighting but this video and the two before it are about which Pink Ranger is the better fighter and the answer is Kimberly.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
No one missed the concept of the show. You just completely missed the concept of the video.
First of all they were chosen to be "warriors" to protect and save Earth, which is exactly why certain people are chosen and have been for 17 seasons. What did she do in "Hogday afternoon" or Master vile & Metallic Armor eps that was so great? Hogday was all about Aisha and in Master vile her plan to pretend to be evil backfired as she blew her cover in a matter of seconds, they knew Tommy was there too.
slickricklj 2 years ago
So how exactly did she help, by needing to be rescued? She could've played the evil part better, like say grabbing Rita or Zedd's staff or something. Also if she was so great how come she let an innocent girl fall over a cliff, knowing she was coming, but put's the effort to stop Billy and Tommy. How about putting a search for a dog over telling the team about the villian's plans to have lava spread throughout Angel Grove? Or Passing the Torch/King for a day where her only concern was Tommy?
slickricklj 2 years ago
He was the one in trouble in those episodes, no one is blowing smoke at him. She did her part. To some she would be a favorite. It may be just based on the fact that we like her personality and that she was different than the average white all american girl in california who only cares about shopping.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
this cxomment right here discredits everything you just said. Troll somewhere else.
slickricklj 2 years ago
dude thats unnecessary. I been watching this show since its been on. I have my likes and dislikes. I like Kim. I like Kat. I like the fact that she was not a superfighter. That's me. I understand this vid is about who's the better fighter. Okay. My opinion I like kim and Kat. For different reasons. And ohranger sentai pinkl ranger was chinese boxing which is not alot like the other styles of fighting used on the show.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Kim wasn't a superfighter either, and neither were many rangers...well mainly from the Saban years.
Don't be tryna sound neutral after what you said about Kim. No one is talking about Japanese footage either, you forget there was American footage too. This vid is about ninja power anyway.
slickricklj 2 years ago
He was in trouble, but others were also focusing on the the fact that there were prisoners. Go watch both of them and see Tanya's reaction to Kat focus on Tommy, EVEN after seeing Angel grove or others were in danger. Even Kim knew Tommy had to wait.
slickricklj 2 years ago
Dude I don't want to argue. I don't think this is as big of a deal as you are making it.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Well coming in a video with a thoughtless comment about how Kim was just some typical all american valley girl who ONLY cared about shopping and talking about something irrelevant to what anyone is discussing or the video itself sounds like you want to argue. Kat showed braviery and courage when she wasn't some prop for Tommy, but some thing she did like escalading situation (Every dog has his day), LETTING Heather go over a cliff, and showing little concern over the lives of many when
slickricklj 2 years ago
it wasn't her own interest doesn't sound like a true ranger in my eyes. I mean even when Tommy's brother went missing, she brushed it off and told Tommy he'd be fine. How could Tommy, who just found his brother, be so sure. I mean he was captured before. Kat was sweet, but also selfish. It doesn't mean she was a horrible person, because no one is perfect.
slickricklj 2 years ago
Kim was a all american valley girl at first. But she grown alot too. I disagree about Heather. She tied her jacket in to help Heather too. I don't want to argue. And Ninja is american footage and I thought she was good during the ninja period. even though it's not the actual actors which is why i find this morphed figher argument senseless.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
DevotedLamb was trying to be fair since Kat hardly had any unmorphed fight scenes. He did one from s3 and one from s2 and zeo. Their was a difference even in American footage because even Kat's American morphed footage was weaker than Kim's. They never let Kat be a good fighter over her tenure. Her one fight that she did something major was against some silly, cowardly monster.
slickricklj 2 years ago
DevotedLamb handled things better than you. You are acting like a child. Her footage was weaker according to you. That's not a fact. Dude, fuck it. I'm done arguing with you. It's a show. like who you wanna like.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
I meant Every Dog has it's day. At the end of the day she was a warrior. They all were. I understand the concept of the video. But the concept of the video does not have any validation in the reason why Kat was chosen to be a ranger. They were not trying to create a character like kimberly. That's just my point. I wouldn't have liked the fact if she came on and was all of a sudden superwoman unmorphed. I like that it happened gradually. Kim was a great fighter.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
At the end of the day her team had to bail her out because of her selfish interest. She put a dog she had NO IDEA was at above the innocent lives of others. This video is not about validating anyone as a ranger it's about comparing fighting because certain Kat stans said she was a better fighter than Kim. And if Kim only cared about shopping she wouldn't have fought with the flu, stood up for Kat with little energy left, and so on. She cared about her job, even enough to give up her dreams
slickricklj 2 years ago
Never once did she really need bailing out. As I said. I like Kat and I like Kim. They are different. At the end of the day they both helped save the day. I understand this is a battle about the better fighter. Yes Kim is the better unmorphed fighter. Morphed not really fair to say considering they used memo who was a chinese boxer in sentai for zeo. So her moves were very limited to just hand movements.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Her last episode she needed bailing out, and even then she was too busy WATCHING Tommy being dragged off instead of displaying some courage which she told Tommy she had back in MMPR. Even complained about being tired when TJ and Cassie were the ones doing all the fighting. She was bailed out from Archerina twice, and in one fight she didn't even try to put up a fight. She also called for Tommy to bail her out when one cog punched her, and twice he had to teleport in front of her to save her.
slickricklj 2 years ago
She did fight her way through on her last ep. They only showed cassie and tj. It's tv. They all said they were tired. I remember the fights with archerina. I don't think that means anything. Every ranger got the crap beat out of them before. I don't know why you are fighting this so hard.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
No she didn't! They ran up to her and then she ran trying to get Tommy. Then when they started fighting again she just sat there and watched them fight. She watched them fight before then as well. I'm not fighting anything, just correcting your comments. My point is how can Kat complain about being tired when she did next to nothing. She even complained about being winded in Africa when Tommy had on more clothes than her. With Archerina, I think it means alot that the price was her friends'
slickricklj 2 years ago
freedom and her best was literally doing nothing but take hits. Even when previous rangers got whooped they at least tried to fight back. Kim was never just a typical valley, she was never self-absorbed, only concerned with her looks nor was she a bitch to anyone. About the only thing valley about her was her accent. She was not the same Kim from the pilot with Audri Dubois who complained about her nails.
slickricklj 2 years ago
I said Kim had character development. If you would stop trying to argue over the place. And clearlly you are a Kim stan to the point you have to knock others for her benefit which is immature, but this is about power rangers so I should expect immaturity from most viewers.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Yeah you said that after I corrected you asinine comment about Kim. Saying someone showed growth doesn't mean you know anything about them. I don't have to knock anyone for anything. You calling someone a stan is being childish and inmmature. Not once did I even call u a Kat stan, although I wouldn't be surprised. Just like you saying you disagree with 13 ppl and such, you obviously had something to say. I'll challenge a comment if it's not based on facts. Done it for many rangers.
slickricklj 2 years ago
Dude you are very irrational. If you are acting like a stan. You can't let one comment I said about Kim go. That's a stan. I say I like Kat and Kim equal, you couldn't except that. You had to go on and on about how you thought she was weaker and how she was a bad ranger( thats pretty much what you are trying to say, don't deny it) You have several pics and videos on your page of kim. You are a kim stan.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
I have ONE pic of Kim on my page, and did you know my avatar was of other ppl before? No? Didn't think so.
Kim was my favorite ranger, so sue me. That doesn't mean anything about how I debate or my judgment. I'm not one of those Kim stans who's only reason to watch PR was to see Kim, and stopped when she left. I've also said other females have surpassed Kim and such. You only said you like Kim and Kat, not equally. Most of what I replied to was about Kat. Also....
slickricklj 2 years ago
I did say equally.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
That was in the script for the Tv show. They did that so that we can see she realizes the right choice for her replacement.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Rocky, Adam and Aisha each fought along side the others rangers before Joining, as did Carlos and Ashley with Adam, and in boths time the veterans were still kicking butt. They didn't just stop and watch the civilians do all the work. Script or not it was Katherine's character. In the command center Tommy was still all she talked about which is why I said look at Tanya's reaction.
slickricklj 2 years ago
Anyone who's knows about film tv and story would know why the character did that. And yes I meant the comment I said about Kim. I never denied that, but I think she grown greatly.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
I can agree that they both showed development but Katherine did need bailing out in the episodes you stated. "Every Dog has its Day" she fought strong but she didn't finish him, she was toast if the others didn't show up. In "A Mystery to me" she was beaten easily by Acherina, she never landed a hit. In "Metallic Armor" she put the pink power on the line and she was bailed out by Tommy, I can't see that can be argued against. Kat was decent but she was no Jen or Kim.
BLS0817 2 years ago
She was not like a Jen or a Kim. Jen was an attempt of bringing a Kim like character back. I think Cassie was great too and I really like Kendrix. I liked it back when rangers had differentpersonalities. Her getting beat up by archerina was the sentai footage. My point is the same things you argue about Kat I can argue about Kim as well. In the movie how many times did she need recuing, leaving her power coin to get stolen. I mean nothing wrong with this, but if it was kat you all would
josephjmg18 2 years ago
The same amount Katherine did in the Turbo movie, what did she do in that movie other then be rescued by Tommy? Sorry I hate being negative but the sentai footage is a big part of the characters fighting . It was sentai footage but it was still Katherine getting beat quite badly. We can't pick and choose the sentai footage we like, if they use it it is the character in question. The power coin is a low blow ALL the rangers coins were out in the open including the guys on the other table.
BLS0817 2 years ago
Where in the Turbo movie are you talking about simply that part where she is hanging off a cliff. I would hope she would ask for help and really she only called for him once in that scene. In that ep none of the other coins were scene. It was just hers in the open backpack zipper. I am not trying to fight dirty, but since some want to play that way. I had to bring that up too. Before Kat came I defended kim for that too. She sure did get the job done on Zeo.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
I have never said I hated Katherine, she had some great moments but she was far from a great fighter. She wasn't a fighter in the first place that held her back but neither was Kimberly and she was able to take out three monsters on her own. Jen wasn't anything like Kimberly. She was hard, kind of cold and well trained in fighting. She was strictly all business.
BLS0817 2 years ago
Kim had taken martial arts in the beginning. That was clear. They took on bulk and skull and she was fighting the putties near the command center. I'm glad Kat wasn't a fighter. I didn't want a replica of a previous character.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
If you read my other messages, I never disputed Kim as a good fighter. As I said I like Kat in spite of not starting off as a martial artist. She had other qualities. and It was rare that she needed rescuing like you two are saying. And certain things are being misinterpreted by you all to prove your points like the fight scene in Passing of the torch. Because she stopped and noticed cassie and tj helping her that made her a bad pink ranger? That's being very picky.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
I never said you disputed that and I never said I didn't like Katherine but saying she rarely needed help is a hard for me to agree with especially in Zeo. There is a span of 3 (other then the ones we talked about) episodes in 5 episod from Zeo that she called for Tommy. I never brought "Passing the Torch" I think they could have gave her better choreography then they did, even if she had no martial arts at the beginning she had been a ranger for 2 by then and should have looked sharper.
BLS0817 2 years ago
Its TV. Billy, Tanya, Damon, Maya, Mystic Force rangers, were not fighters like that at first.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
But couldn't one make the argument that maybe Katherine's innate abilities couldn't connect to the "Ninja" powers behind the coin since the original power source for the coin was Kimberly's inner strength. It's possible that though Katheirine was given the same power as Kimberly, her connection to the coin was different, maybe weaker somehow (disconnecting the coin from Kimberly's life source wouldn't matter, as the abilities the coin gives would be based on Kim's not Kat's strengths).
natyanayaki 2 years ago
That actually makes sense. But her abilities were only shown on the first Tenga fight. After that she never showed that kind of prowess in the third season again.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
Because the writers were so focused on making Katherine a prop, while also trying to make her a flawless character (diver, surfer, prima ballerina-as if anyone can condition their body perfectly for 3 sports, dog trainer, chimp trainer valedictorian) while also turning her into Tommy's prop. Sad b/c Kat did have a lot of potential, the writers didn't give her a chance, they decided who she was before they saw her in action.
natyanayaki 2 years ago
Kim could have become a prop too, but since Kim was popular in her own right, and since she was a senior ranger to Tommy, that was prevented. Kat and more importantly Catherine Sutherland deserved more. Most of the actors on the series did...
natyanayaki 2 years ago
I agree. I think Trini could've gotten more screen time, Jason's love life could've been explored, and Rocky's character never really developed into the leader role, even though he was supposed to be second in command. With Kat, I don't have to say anything, but her character was stiffed because she was unpopular.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
I think they tried to make Kat perfect to deal with the backlash, I feel for any character who had to directly replace Kim, but by trying to "white-wash" the character, it just exacerbated the situation.
I probably feel worst for Billy/David. He'd been on for so long, the character should have been given a story, respected. The character who invented the communicators by the 2nd episode...he deserved more...
natyanayaki 2 years ago
Well, I think he got more focus compared to everyone else except for Tommy and Kimberly and that was because they were the Official Couple. What would you like to have seen done?
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
Hmm, I don't think that Billy got much focus, it's more that he was in a lot of episodes since David stayed with the show so long. There are a lot of things I would have liked, but I think the one thing that annoys me most of all, is that pretty soon after Kim leaves, it's written so that the remaining ORIGINAL ranger can't have powers. That just irritates me. He was the only original left! Rude to the character, and actor. I don't blame David for leaving (I think he walked out?)...
natyanayaki 2 years ago
I agree, that was annoying.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
@Devotedlamb19 The thing about that first fight that bugs me is you could probably ask Katherine how she beat the tengas and she'd have no idea. There was no skill here it was the powers that won the fight. Her reactions showed she had no idea what she was doing and that she was surprised at her new strength and moves. Take away the ninja powers and she would have been a bit helpless and confined to stomping on monster's toes.
BLS0817 1 year ago
@BLS0817 Exactly. She had no skill of her own. She was victorious only because of the Ninja powers. Without them, those Tengas would've overwhelmed Kat easily. Heck, even with the Ninja abilities she was scared of them initially.
Devotedlamb19 1 year ago
@Devotedlamb19 I understood they were playing it different since she wasn't a martial artist but its slightly annoying that we never saw her really train to better herself, they acted like she was just a good fighter. Even Billy was shown taking considerable time to get better, with Katherine she was off in that first fight but then they acted like she was as good as the others after that.
BLS0817 1 year ago
@BLS0817 That bugs & confuses me. In that first fight, they made Katherine out to be this amazing martial artist and then in every subsequent battle, her level of skill was less than what was initially shown. Add to that the fact that she was almost completely dependent on Tommy (and to an extent Jason in Zeo) and you have to wonder what the hell the writers were thinking.
Devotedlamb19 1 year ago
I think Kim's battles utilized alot more technique (in general), and she was obviously more in tune with her powers. I believe every ranger shared the same powers, because super speed wasn't unique to Kim.
Kat's first battle bother's me because she made it appear like it was super easy to take down tengas. In the others' first battle, there was some struggle, but they would find a way to take get the upper hand.
slickricklj 2 years ago 2
This is what it says on your channel:

Like Billy. I like characters like that.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
What did I say that was really opinion? Hell these videos alone showcase how different their fight footage was. You watch TV to know what something is? Did it ever occur to not everyone is the same? Hell I called myself a Amy fanboy because I had a crush on her and like her work, doesn't mean I listen to her music or have seen all of her work (which I haven't). "Angles" were how we compared fight footage and differences and then u come in here talking about the power gave them the ability to
slickricklj 2 years ago
physically fight. These were exemplary teens.
slickricklj 2 years ago
I didn't say you were above average cause you know karate. The characters in the recent disney shows fight the way a ranger would morphed and it annoys me. That's what I'm referring too. The thing is not everybody is gonna know karate like a billy or kat. but the fact that they learned and grew that aspect says alot.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Morphed it inscreased their fighting skills. If you couldn't fight unmorphed. Morphed you could. I considered other angles.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
@josephjmg18
and this proves I'm a Kim stan how? By telling someone how to properly debate? People do need to rewatch or research things before making comments or misjudging someone (on TV or in real life). You can think you know something and be completely wrong. FACT.
If you really knew anything about me you'd know that comment goes above and beyond just Kimberly.
slickricklj 2 years ago
I didn't really want to debate, thats why I didn't spew a bunch of scenes of Kim's weakness. I wanted an exchange.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
you wanted an exchange by saying "I disagree with all 13 of you. Kim too. Also since you did
slickricklj 2 years ago
mention ppl like Maya and Damon, you'd note that they showed some strength or courage before morphing. I suppose I came off hard on Kat in this vid, but the eps you listed showcased her at her worst and that's the only reason I said the things I did. I called you a troll because first you call out 13 ppl for no reason. Then you say ppl don't like Kat because she's not Kim (true but not entirely), and then said Kim was "just" a typical all American valley girl when she was alot more then that.
slickricklj 2 years ago
Lastly since you decided to use my page, wrongly (blocked naturally), you would've noticed my page had alot of favorites from people I'm youtube friends with. I don't even see all their vids, but several of them send me their vids to see, if I like it I'll add. I mean sheesh if I hated Kat so much and only cared about Kim, I'd just be favoriting Kim vids only and any vid making Kat look bad.
slickricklj 2 years ago
I just simply quoted you.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Wasn't it Kat that went in to get Kim's coin back. After being evil didn't she go to Kim and tell the truth. That's not cowardly to me. If I was a writer I would make the pink ranger's episode focus around Tommy too, if I know that's what everyone want to see. And originally Kim was an all American valley girl to me. I think she has grown alot throughout the series. Buffy was a all american vallley girl before she was a kick ass slayer. No biggy.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Billy did not show fighting skill at all early on. Watch Day of the Dumpster. When you morph realistically, you are able to do those things. How you make decisions as a ranger is more focused on the skill and personality of the individual themself.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
(cont) When kimberly ask for help and then kicks ass later, I like that. I don't like consistant victory in a story. Thats why I like Kat cause overall she was not in some martial arts training, but she had a great spirit and desire for teamwork and she gained what she needed and she contributed to the series. And I like change once there is development. Kimberly developed and she left. That was good. Same with Kat. Recent seasons they just come fighting machines and leave fighting machin
josephjmg18 2 years ago
If you noticed I said they used Katherine as a device for Tommy. All of the rangers, even Jason and Tommy asked for help, but the problem with Kat is that she never got to be the heroine, except one time, she was always calling for help, even in the end. I hated that about her character. Like the fight with Digster she used everything she had (in succession), but did no harm to it. Why not show her think of something new? No they basically made sure she was shown as weak to warrant more Tommy.
slickricklj 2 years ago
Nothing wrong with that, but she relied on Tommy just as much.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
No she didn't. Kim didn't start relying on Tommy until season 3 when her power coin got stolen. Before that, she was just fine on her own.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
She did in the movie during the ninjetti scenes. The Tengues carrying her away. When the Tengues were carrying her away in that episode with the picaso. I mean I understand stuff like that happens. I don't knock her for that, but to knock Kat for the same things is pointless.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Those were two instances and in the first one, I don't think Tommy bailed her out, the tenga/tengu dropped her. Yes, she asked for Tommy's help in the picaso episode but she was doing fine before-hand and don't forget, she kicked that monster's butt on her own later on in the episode.
Kimberly needed saving maybe four times in all her time on the show. Katherine needed saving twice as much in Zeo alone.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
Excuse me, we didn't even see what she was doing before being carried away. Like I said I don't have issue with this, but you knock for the same things. It's not fair. You like Kim more than Kat, I respect that, but why bash her for things other pink rangers do as well and discredit everything she did because it's Tommy related.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
Every ranger needed some help at some point, this is true, but Katherine was a special case because it seemed she couldn't do anything on her own. She always needed someone (mostly Tommy, since you brought it up) to save her. The Numbor monster was the only instance where she really took charge and shined. It's not really bashing, it's the truth.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
No it's not truth because just because didn't do everything her self all the the time doesn't mean she couldn't.
josephjmg18 2 years ago
If she could, why didn't she? The writers didn't show her as a being an independent strong ranger, they showed her as being dependent, irrational, and having low self-esteem. Her good qualities were in context of her personality, but they didn't help her as a fighter.
Devotedlamb19 2 years ago
@Devotedlamb19
agreed
Crawfishranger4 2 years ago
Well, in the movie when the Tengas were carrying her away, remember that was when she didn't have powers and all the non combative rangers were having trouble.
natyanayaki 2 years ago
@josephjmg18 Actually Kat did call for Tommy A LOT.... and I 'm a huge Kat fan.... I've been watching all of the episodes with Kat in them lately and I do notice that Kat calls out for Tommy in almost everyone one of them.... Now keep in mind that Kat is my fav ranger but I have to admit the facts. I still love Kat. She will always be my fav because I connected more with her.
Even Catherine Sutherland makes the comment out her biggest line from Power Rangers was "Tommy!".
