In 1999 Cablevision took over the other 50% of what ITT had, and in 2010 spun off MSG into a separate company, despite both being supervised by the worst man in media ownership, James Dolan!!! At least he allowed FIOS to add msg and msg+ in hd (no msg v or msg2 or +2).
Even though I'm from NC and heard this intro several years ago when ESPN Classic used to show some NHL games from the past...This theme is very good and I wish MSG would KEEP IT!!!

This is the intro from the first game I was able to watch from my house! We got cable with the sole purpose of watching Rangers games but the lockout happened. It was worth the wait when the season started though!
This and the old Knicks theme were the greatest ever. This was back when MSG was worth watching back when they had Sportsdesk the rights to the Yankees instead of that YES bullshit. I don't even recognize it anymore. It doesn't know what it wants to be. Entertainment or sports...

I remember at the 2010 Olympics, Mike Emerick was reduced to explaining the rules of hockey. Either at some point Americans forgot hockey was a sport, OR the sports networks in the US thought they had.
