  • a think this was sunk by a torpedo

  • No sympathy from me!...Owning a boat takes hard work and money. It's YOUR responsibility to keep your vessel in good condition. You've got to love boats to own one,and anyone who leaves something as beautifull as that shouldnt have owned it in the 1st place. It's not BW's fault, yes, the Licience Fee is Daylight Robbery but its the owners fault here.

  • Thanks for the vid also. It express's what I feel every time I see a derelict boat. Or a homeless person, a poor kid, a stray dog. Damn.

    EVERYTHING WILL BE ALRIGHT!

'Preciate it, though. I found a new singer kinda like Leonard Cohen.

  • Please let me know the song title and singer. I was done just like that poor boat.

    R.I.P.

  • rob Dougan

  • Thank you, Sir!

    Soothes the beast.

  • is it still there now? or did the lazy guy who left it there finally collect it?

  • BW still chases us all for licences. Bet that craft hadn't paid for awhile yet BW leave them to get into such a state before lifting. It breaks my heart to see boats like this. I had a lump in my throat watching this film. Our canal & river system is run into the ground by BW management (the majority have never even BEEN on a boat let alone own one) cutting ground crew to almost nothing so the canals are run into disuse. Is this a plan on their part?

  • hey who sings this song

  • Rob Dougan

  • thanks norm

  • Cruisers Rock.....From Viking 32...Imagine,Sawley.!

  • why did some one let boat get like that that could be a nice boat

  • how did it sink?

  • It had a wooden (Clinker)hull if they are not maintained

they start to leak. I've seen it happen before.

If Bw had lifted it out of the water when they first took hold of it ,it could have been sold and made them some money ! Instead of costing them money and causing

    pollution !!!

  • Bw have now removed her!

I don't know in what state she left as I can see no sign of her.

    Simon.

  • lol bet the owner thought that it would be cheaper for the boat too keep on re sinking evry time the tide came in then get some one too tow it away

  • The question is will BW remove it before boating season starts at easter ?

  • did it sink completely in the end?

  • Believe it or not its still there !

The wheelhouse has gone (Smashed off by a dumb barge that broke loose during floods)

  • yes seems a shame, ive been on the grand union canal and have seen the same there

  • I remember a few years back Buccaneer an ex RAF launch sank at Stoke

Lock (River Trent) that was wooden (Once was pride of the river) . When BW got around to getting a crane to lift her out she just broke up and turned to match wood

    Very Sad!

I suppose the same fate awaits this one

  • i want to know where is the owner?

everyone that has a boat moored pay a licence so why would anyone want to leave a boat to rot ?

  • I seem to remember this boat moored on the Cranfleet cut (River Trent) .

It was slowly getting into a state there and no mooring or license fee had been paid for some time.

BW are slowly taking action against boats such as this tho its a pity they couldn't have auctioned it off before this happened .

I don't hold out much hope for it now
