  • ... lazy mofo

  • If done properly this wont do shit to your synchronizers. Each gear is a different size so they all spin at different speeds. So the synchronizers just match the gears speed for smooth shifting. BUT at a certain RPM your current gear and next will turn at the same speed ( almost redline). Its not recommended on new cars though because not much different in gear sizes unlike a semi. That being said. I agree a Mini is incredibly gay especially if you have a pair.

  • I work for Mini....My advice, keep it up, we'll see you soon.....Dont forget to bring around $6000

  • pffft, clutchless shifting a car....

real men do it in a crash box (truck)

  • good way to kill transmission :D

  • when i kill my clutch i will try this,ty

  • брееееееддд.....

  • big rigs (semi-truck) don't need clutches AFTER leaving a stop. they don't even have synchros in the transmissions the gears are spur cut and are much stronger, everytime you shift you put some kind of wear on your synchronisers, that grind is definitly the worst.

  • Ugh. Too many comments need addressing. First of all, mad typos from people calling this guy an idiot. Second, no it won't destroy the synchros if you match revs properly, you won't be putting stress on them. Third, fourth, etc... btw it's still a gay as hell Mini he's driving. I don't care if it's supercharged or not, I don't care if it runs 9's. It's a male, driving a Mini.

  • This idiot doesn't even know what the fuck hes talking about ur fucking up u syncrdoes . YOU NEED A FUCKING CLUTCH WHY DO U THINK THEY INVENTED THEM FOR CARS FOR NO REASON??? ARE U FUCKING RETARDED you sound like ur trying to act smart YOUR A COMPLETE FUCKING MORON

  • @bandit25501 Dude chill out! This guy actually seriously helped me pass my test through his vids.. and tbh.. this could actually come in handy if your clutch ever broke. Another thing is that it will only damage your car if you don't do it right. The insults really aren't needed.. nor is the language.

  • congratulations, your clutch will die soon....

  • What a fool! you have no idea how the mechanics of a car works.

    eventually you'll destroy your syncros.

  • i hope you understand that this WILL destroy the syncros in your transmission.

  • @thetittymonster7 correct:)

  • You guys are idiots.. the only way it would hurt your gears if it was grinding and/or was hard to put in gear, like if you have to jam in it. It falls in smoothly then theres no problem

  • All this will do is destroy your gear ends from not disengaging the clutch mechanism. But it shouldn't hurt anything too bad

    Wouldn't recommend it

  • i dont get why people say it messes up your transmission. my dad has been doing it in his 18 speed peterbuilt for a long time and never has messed it up. he can do it in any thing with a manual and not mess it up. ive been with him in his pete and instead of using the clutch when he stops he puts it in neutral stops and takes off with out the clutch. and if you have a manual and you know how to do it its one less thing you have to worry about when driving down the road, no clutch to worry about.

  • @warhusky51 you know y becoz trucks have heavy duty clutches in them if you knew how to drive a truck u would know! turcks are built in ways not being able to use the clutch an for cars it will be a whole lot different

  • @NZBEARZ58 matter of fact i did know. and i have never heard of a truck in the world were it was actually built so you could have a manual and shift with out a clutch. well actualy they did make trucks that you didnt have to use a clutch they put automatics in them. and it isnt at all different in cars, my dad can do it on quads, motorcycles, cars, trucks you name if its a manual he can do it. it is posible to do

  • @NZBEARZ58 and learn how to spell. it looks like a retard wrote your message!

  • why would you do that? -__-

  • no point to this really. an automated manual essentially does this, and it will do it quicker and better than any human 99.9% of the time.

  • he says it like hes smart for knowing ........

  • Is not abouth the RPM ! Is that ur a killing your gearbox idiot. Forcing it to to transmit without clutch .. Great way to fuck up ur board system in the car.

  • @luiswega and it is the rpm you dumb fuck......it would even shift if you didnt match the rite rpm

  • buena no q la daña loka

  • How about an automatic next time?

  • Hello everyone, i just wanna mention - probably mentioned before - but if you do this trick, the wall he doesn't explane is accually the sync that blocks the way. Doing this with a non sync car is accually very hard but on the racing track the fastest way, downshifting is done using double cluthing thought for smoother input to the weels due to the high pressure its already withstanding durring racing. Doing what he does is perfectly fine as long as you shift almost as usual, forcing ruins syncs

  • @TheRawhammer on old racing cars! there wasn't enought room to comment.

Racing cars today don't double cluth cause they use a totaly different method, often involving some electrical part that "syncs" making the gearchanges ultrafast and with almost none powerinput loss.

  • eheheh

  • i've done this with many different models of cars, some gearboxs are more forgiving than others

  • all the people who are saying this will blow the transmission probably don't drive a shift themselves or know how the transmission works. Doing what the guys is doing is perfectly fine if you were to get it right. I ride a bike myself, and rev match all the time.. tho with a bit of clutch downshifting

  • This is a very useful technique to learn, on an emergency if your clutch is broken for any reason and you have to get going.

  • just press clutch

  • Comment removed

  • @Ltzmogus221 maybe for you, because if you do DO IT RIGHT, then there is no problem to the transmission. PLUS you save your clutch life because your not constantly using it.

  • @Ltzmogus221 totally agree !

  • my dad can do this

  • Why are you attacking him? I think its better somebody shows you how stuff works and what can and cant be done, than to one day test it yourself and blow the fuck out of your car. He provides FREE online tutorial ( good one ) and you are still insulting him

  • the gears will allow in and out by itself, no need to give a lesson.. you should say why not to do this instead of showing the wrong way to shift.

  • it doesnt damage ur gearbox if u do it right. everyone thinks they know everything but most people know nothing. what hes doing is synchronizing his gears. its what truck drivers do because their transmissions are not synched. a regular vehicle has a sychronized tranny so u dont need to match the rpms to the road speed like u do in a big rig but in a big rig if u didnt shift that way u wouldnt make it 100ft b4 having 2 stop and try again

  • I don't understand. What is the benefit of shifting without the clutch???

  • @CountDuckula1908 any decent trucker floats gears meaning they dont use the clutch a rig has an unsychronized tranny and u have to shift the way he is although they still teach u to double clutch but if u match the road speed with the rpms of the gear ur tryning 2 get into it will go in without grinding or using the clutch. theres really no benefit but if done right it just makes driving with a manual tranny easier ecspecially if ur in traffic and u wanna let ur left leg rest a little bit

  • this is so stupid. why would you do this

  • lol i used to drive a 1.1 fiesta that you could pull away from stand still without clutch, force towards first the car would start rolling then would slot in once moving, ;D hella funny when u got clutch foot on dash haha

  • Yes we all know you can do this but whats the point? the clutch is there for a reason and to be honest i don't find it that hard to push a clutch pedal, if it bothers u this much buy an automatic thats what they are there for :)

  • @MrJcooper100 But if your clutch goes out you might need to do that..

  • this video should be called how to destroy your transmission

  • Dude, thanks for making all these videos. Setting up all these cameras, syncing them to demonstrate how things CAN be done is no easy task. You are one hell of a teacher. With all the whiners you have, I thought I should let you know.

  • what?

  • My clutch rod came off my pedal due to a snapped retainer, knowing how to do this saved my car. I knew how to do this prior to the video....just saying. There's a time and place this may be necessary to use. Say your clutch fails while moving.....you need to get your car into neutral without the clutch. OR let's say your brake and clutch fail simultaneously...

  • @ryanericw Yup, it happens....I guess these whiners also thought "Worst Case Scenarios" books stupid and useless, too...

  • I would like to know how much a new gearbox for a mini costs. The videomaker's mom could probobly tell me.

  • whats the point f this video

  • Alwase use the cluch to ues gears it can damage the engine in the car eathr going up or down

    idiot

  • @rockobellie10 A lot of racers use clutchless shifting

  • Lazy bitch

  • what do u thing why they build the clutch in ur car u stupid............. i mean yeahhh distroy ur moms car ......

  • fucktard

  • wats the point? i dun see any pro, it make ur car slower and you are fucktard. get a life dude

  • u should of hacked it at the end of your vid

  • i really dont get the point, i shift in milliseconds...

  • if you do it right and don't grind you wont ruin the trans

  • they use it all the time in racing clutch less shifting saves time

  • Very interesting!!! I heared it a while ago and did not believe it but now you have proven it!! Unfortunatly there are many ignorant people who don`t get it. This vid is for car lovers with a technical background. this guy is simply explaining something very interesting!! I really did not know this and i`m very surprised!! Thanks for the effort and keep up the good work..

  • whats the reason of buying 5 speed if ur not going to use clutch? not fun

  • disgraceful to minis

  • DO NOT DRIVE LIKE THIS. Ruins gears in your trans also trans gears aren't built to change under load

  • There are a lot of clueless fucking retards commenting on this video. It's common practice NOT to use the clutch in race situations, it saves time which allows power to be applied sooner. I bet most of you are big fat americans who drive shitty american cars that are all big sloppy pieces of crap that can't corner for shit. Americans don't know how to drive (although this dude seems ok) and american cars are all shit (except for the Ford GT).

  • @mdma111 Lmao you are just mad because your poor piece of shit country looks like the inside of my toilet. We are fat because we have money. Money shows a sign of wealth, this is why Africans are so skinny :) I'll take my big sloppy muscle car over any jap trap honda.

  • @AmericanMuscle881 No, you are fat because you are lazy. You are also uneducated which is why most of you ignorant fat lazy fucks still believe in god despite there being absolutely NO evidence supporting it and overwhelming evidence contradicting it. American cars are useless as the American education system.

  • @mdma111 Sir, how would you know my level of intelligence? :) If the American education system was as useless as you said, we wouldn't have people from all over the world coming to attend our medical schools. The only reason China looks like their education is superior is because after a certain age if you aren't smart enough they kick your ass out. So therefore all that is left are the smarter kids. Tell me I am wrong, i have researched it.

  • @AmericanMuscle881 Over 90% of Americans believe in a supernatural "higher power". If your education system was as great as you claim it to be this number would be much lower. There is a strong correlation between education (and intelligence) and atheism. i.e Only uneducated fools believe in god. Tell me I am wrong, I've researched it.

  • @mdma111 In America religion is not taught in school unless you attend a school that specializes in it i.e. christian school. If you attend public school they are legally not permitted to teach such things. Ever heard of separation of church and state?

  • @AmericanMuscle881 Yes I have, ever heard of reading comprehension? Where did I say you teach religion in school? I said your education system is shit, which is why you're all so uneducated. I also said there is a correlation between believing in god and having limited education. Learn to read and learn some science... idiot.

  • @mdma111 I dont want to get into another youtube argument, but I've seen research claiming that over 40% of scientists are involved in religion or or are strong theists, most are agnostic. Only 10% are 'militant' atheists like Dawkins. Hitchens, etc. Also, I can think of heaps of intelligent people who have been strong theists. I cant speak for the american education system, But your statement seems to ring of the sort of generalisation that I'm sure you hate in those you say you have researched.

  • @FriedRiceGalore Dawkins calls himself Agnostic actually. And since you use him as source, I will to. He says that over 90% of Americans believe in a "higher supernatural being". He also says that most scientists in the USA who say they are religious do so for social reasons since admitting to atheism in some parts of the States is a kin to admitting to being a paedophile. Others are mistakenly called theists when referring to the "Einsteinian God".

  • @mdma111 You mentioned that in your first comment. Is your original statistic from Dawkins, or elsewhere? Dawkins quotes a professor in his book, who says 'there can be a substantial case that Jesus never existed at all'. This is an example I'm giving of a quote Dawkins uses to back up his argument. Interesting fact, this guy he ref'ed is not a professor in History, or Philosophy, as you might guess, but one of the German language. My point, Dawkins work should not be veiwed as 100% reliable.

  • @mdma111 Next, you wish New Zealand was on the same level with America, The only time your country is ever mentioned is when some one plans to travel. So have a good day :)

  • why the hell not to use clutch?????

  • @glifoperiodo cos its wornout and needs replacing or is slipping, its happened to m,e and actually using the clutch and going up gears was increadibly difficult cos it would just slip and not grip, if u keep grip and clutchless change, itll work better, till u can fix ur clutch

  • WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU ? YOU CANT DRIVE FOR SHIT, IF ANY ONE LISTENS TO THIS IDIOT THEY ARE CLEARLY AMATEUR

  • i can wank without my hands, i get ur mom to use her hands, i bet so many pussy ass americans who cant drive stick have been watching this lol lol lol

  • Go buy automatic transmission instead of ruining ur grandma's car.

  • @PetersonMuggles Don't be so damn lazy and learn to drive both!

  • either a genius or fucking idiot

  • i DONT KNOW WHY I M NOT GOOD AT SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND :(

  • @braintrain5000 Some cars are easier than other. My 89 mustang was hard but my 89 sunbird was like butter. What kind of car you drive? Also check out my vid, Floating Gears thru Dothan, Al., it may help you.

  • basically ur just wasting money every time u do tht, in about a few days ur going to need a new clutch

  • I'm pretty sure the dislikes are from people who tried and ruined their gearbox lol

  • @adonisaugusto I think this Vid is somewhat pointless BUT this information could help if your out crusin' and your clutch fails then you could drive home if your careful.

  • @mozzmann yeah, I agree with you :)

  • There goes the synco

  • If you shift with the perfect rpm it is more than possible. Truckers don't use the clutch to shift through 16 gears when getting on an on-ramp. I Never use my clutch when shifting on my quad.

  • @powderkillr Ah yes but Truck gearboxes like Fuller Road Ranger's are designed that way and your quad bike most likely has a dog engaged constant mesh sequential gearbox.

  • @lapyro14 the stupidest part of your comment is you thinking im not wearing my seat belt. watch the video i always wear my seat belt

  • @s0ggyrice Damn him, he mad because he tried to float gears but he could not. Also i have a vid about clutchless n a semi.

  • @s0ggyrice he is wearing his belt, u look closely ull see it at times when his arm moves out of the way, not much but a tiny little bit and its not a stupid video. I know someone with a HZJ75 Landcruiser who has been shifting clutchless cos his clutch was almost gone and couldnt afford to repair it (poor uni students lol) so its helpful to know how to do it ptoperly if the need arises

  • @s0ggyrice nice vid man, mate was trying this he got the shifts right going up but crunching the gearbox when dropping lol. might pay for him to watch this...

  • @lapyro14 LOl dumbfuck.

  • @lapyro14 hahaha owend bitch!! that will teach u for being a fuck head

  • Comment removed

  • @lapyro14 The seat belt is on dude.

  • @lapyro14 the stupidest part about your stupid ass comment is the level of stupidity you emit by judging others than don't agree with your stupid logic of wearing their seat belt at all times....stupid.

  • worked for me, thank you !

  • you now the theory but the practics kills you

  • I find it fucking hilarious how, despite everything said in the bit titled PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION FIRST, people are still all like 'omg dude u r a fuckin idiot gona destroy ur car' hahahahaha. YOU are the idiots, goodbye.

    PS nice video, appreciate this!

  • @rastapapalis yeah i know right there are some real assholes on here

  • just use the clutch, its faster to shift. dick

  • @weszters It won't do anything to the clutch... Transmission, maybe over time.

  • Way to fuck up your clutch faster idiot

  • thanks man great vid

  • Your argument is invalid. You are driving a mini.

  • For every one making fun of that. that's really useful when you LOSE clutch,- as it happened twice with me - and you wanna go home. but if you are not a professional, just call a cab or a truck to repair the cat

  • realdo fili me golfinn 2shh me te mir ne bottttttttttttttttttttt ....hahaha ec aty !!

  • fuck you and your sister dont recommed to people this things..i made this thing with golf 2 but other have good cars and will damage the gearbox..fuck fuck fuck

  • thats right boy fuck your clutch plates

  • I only float gears in my Kenworth, never in one of my cars or trucks.

  • absolutely pointless

  • OR... you can:

    have fun

    save tons of money

    not compromise your life

    not compromise your mom's car

    by just using the clutch

  • @postmortemarg moron shifting .........

  • @postmortemarg And pay a tow truck to pull your mom's pinto home because you didn't know how to shift when the cable broke. My brother n law should me when I was 19. Like anything, if you do it the right way, you want damage the trans. I will say some cars r easier than other.

  • @postmortemarg but what if ur clutch is damaged or too worn to be used, its good to know how to do it withotu the clutch

  • jestes świetny... normalnie pewnie dupsko Ci malo ze szczescia nie peklo jak odkryles ze da sie to bez sprzegla zrobic... żal

  • or you could be sensible and just use the clutch?, he's not even speed shifting?,

  • Rally cars and motocross bikes have gearboxes designed for flatout shifting.

  • Já fiz muito isso com um fusca q eu tinha quando adolescente eahUAHUEA

  • All who dislike this are either women, or pansies who know nothing of cars.

  • ANY ONE THAT GETS A WRX SHOULD DO THIS, GREAT IDEA!

  • @w2q1a so dude what your saying is when your driving through town and your taking a left on a green light and theres a shit load of oncoming traffic and your clutch decompresses to the floor the best option is to stop in the middle of the intersection and die.

WHY DIDNT I THINK OF THAT??? !!!!

YOU MUST BE SOME KIND OF AUTOMOTIVE GENIUS!!!! !!!!

    !!!!

  • People that dont understand my previous comment will be the ones that get destroyed by a semi pulling out of a gas station and the cluth decompresses to the floor. I value life more than any gear box or transmission. Ive been to the Sand Hills in Nebraska and had a clutch line break on my 79 F150. no cell phone reception on anyones phone and no food or water

option A- sit there and pray someone drives by in the middle of nowhere

option B- drive without clutch to my other truck 60 miles away

  • @TheJohnKram look man all im saying is shit happens. My roomate and I try to go on a road trip somewhere at least once a month some times more. Back in november we drove to Breckenridge, CO. my turn to drive as I was pulling out of a gas station outside Fort Collins his cluth cable snapped on his 10 Camaro, turns out a semi was coming at us and I was in first

    option A- death by semi

    option B- drive without clutch

    what would you do?

I dont care who you are sometimes its necessary

  • by the way - on last day I had no brakes so I had to use gearbox ONLY to stop.

So don't you say that it's unreal or not good for gears - driving over 60km\h is dangerous but if you can...

IT IS NOT NORMAL BUT SOME PEOPLE CAN DO THAT EASILY

  • WTF??

I drove 3 days on my Isuzu Aska Kagemshir (Razo gearbox, turbo) without clutch - a link was broken so I had to start WITHOUT clutch on 1st gear - yeap, it wasn't fun.. but after that - I could change gears without any noise because I learned to drive on old fucken truck which has no synchronisators in a gearbox so you have to use double clutch.

So after 3 days when I finally came to workshop - first thing I herd was - WTF, how you have come here?!?!

  • Put it on CLOSE CAPTION and enjoy the ride...

  • fucking idiot

  • You can shift without a clutch but it is likely you could damage the gear box

  • this is not very recomended, just waste my time for watching this video :(

if you tired with your left leg, just buy a matic car. wakakakakak...

i have fun with my debroi. and it's so simple for drive. just push your leg in deep,...

and the car must go banzaaiii.................. how i must type for a long character???...

maka saya copas aja deh. :cd:

Everyone who says that it will damage your gearbox is very stupid and knows nothing about mechanics. This guy did a good job showing this. oh ya?

  • It is still alot faster just clutching it!!! You would have to be a tool not to use the clutch in the first place! dumb tutorial!!!

  • кэп ! яибу меня этому отец ещё научил когда мне 6 лет было пиздец

  • WOW! thiz iz like the BEST! "how to drive a shifting car" video EVER!! THANK YOU SOOO MUCH BRO!! :D

  • hey good job on floating your gears great job (20 yr auto tech)

  • clutchless shifting, you WANT to know how to do, I extended the life of a warn out clutch by nearly 5000 KM using clutchless shifting and not putting too much load on the clutch.

It was warn out, the car was old and was being de-commissioned after i was finished with it,

When your clutch starts slipping due to age, or will no longer disengage the box, clutchless shifting will get you out of the shit. its an awsome tool to have up your sleve. yes, mismatching will cause damage to your box,

  • If you don't want to use a clutch, get an auto you tool...

  • Great way to destroy your gearbox... Modern gearboxes have what they call Synchro mesh or Synchro rings on each gear which are made of soft brass usually to assist with smooth transition from one gear to the next by matching the speed of the gears. You'll wreck them doing this, it's stupid & there's nothing to be gained by it, it's slower too.

  • Say goodbye to your synchros...

  • Kids, dont use this normally. This is merely a demonstration. Research how a synchronized transmission works and you'll see why this is not something you should do. A clutch replacement is far cheaper than tearing the transmission apart and replacing the synchros.

  • you explain things really well :) thanks for all the videos!

  • Yet another person, Me, who will tell you you are a fucking retard....In no way is that good for the car...ever!!!!

  • this guy is a idiot do you want your gear box to burn out wow !! And the guy said well need it if our clutch goes out ?!?! thas why we have car insurance!!!

  • I love the transmission grind sound XD

  • Fantastic video mate. i remember my dads car losing its clutch and the NRMA (auto mech for australia) driving it to the shop with this method. cheers for up load

  • Clutchless shifting is fine if you do it right. Don't know what the problem is. Congratulations I've been looking for a video on how to do this properly. My Dad does it sometimes but obviously he doesn't let me try it on his car hahaha!

  • Woah, this is very interesting.

    Thanks for letting me know.

  • Yes, after third, gearbox will stay on asphalt...
