    what are the differences?

  • International TKD Federation and World TKD Federation.

    ITF uses both hands and feet. You can grab the legs, hit to the face....etc

    WTF is olympic TKD which is mostly kicks. No punches to the head but punches to the body are allowed (very rare).

  • In ITF taekwon-do you cannot grab legs

    if someone throws a roundhouse and if u can catch it and throw a punch....that's legal.

    that's the same as grabbing.....

  • Every time I have been in a tournament and even got caught up, let alone grabbed, the opponents leg I have been penalized.

    but practice and continous sparring, you can grab the leg...

    now u can't grab and and tried to take someone down and do a submission but grabbing the leg as he throws a kick and punching is perfectly legal.,..

  • you certainly cant grab the legs in any tkd.

  • hakon92, stretch and press-side kicks at home. If you do about 30-40 of those, 3-4 times a week you will improve your kicks a lot. Most important thing is actually just to repeat it as often as you can, dont do whole week-ends without stretching\kicking etc..

  • nice kicks? any1 that has a tip or two for me to better my sidekicks?

  • Takes a lot og practice to do this fast egnough in sparring but try taking your foot a little further inn for more power when u kick

  • practice technical kicking rather than sparring kicks. hold your side kicks for ten seconds each time when practicing at home and repeat 100 times before putting your foot down - its working for me
