  • cant believe people hunt these

  • I saw a huge flock of these fly overhead today in a near perfect V formation while I was out filling the bird feeders. I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to see this & hear their calls. Great video & photos!

  • I live in Kansas and it's very rare to see them. But once I saw a small migrating group of 4 I watched them take off and it was amazing! I was so glad to see such a wonderful bird! Beautiful pictures, amazing video and spectacular birds!!!

  • Those are beautiful photos. We have the Sandhill Cranes here in Fritz Creek Alaska, a pair nests every year on our acreage and we so enjoy their dancing and antics from May to September, when they fly to the San Joaquin Valley in California. The Sandhill Cranes are a huge part of the Shorebird Festival occuring the first week of May in Homer Alaska.

  • Beautiful photos. I'm and ex Wisconsinite now in Clearwater, Fl. We get to see only a few at a time on our golf course. I have a video of them doing a mating dance.

  • Beautiful

  • Beautiful..

  • Very cool, I just got some video of two of them this morning, near Pistakee lake near Fox Lake, Il. So not too far from Lake Geneva. This is the first time I've seen these in this area. I've lived in the area since the sixties.

  • Beautiful .Thanks .

  • Lovely lovely lovely.....

  • I think I got 2 of these suckers on video yesterday outside Detroit. I thought they were Common Cranes, when I looked them up...But Common Cranes seem to be VERY UNcommon! (sadly) So, I will try to get my video up when I get some free time. Thanks for the beautiful video.

  • Love your photography, wonderful job with this video.

  • what mic did you use to record the birds? I mean non parabola microphones. Something German made?

  • Fabulous photography! We appreciate your love for these magnificent creatures! Check out our video. A pair roam around our neighborhood on occation. We love them!

  • Had a couple of them walking around in my front yard a few weeks ago, making that same wretched call.

  • to see my sculptures of herons, egrets and sandhill cranes go to w w w . rodbecklund . c om remove the spaces

  • yes it is very sad that people have to hunt these birds very sad.

  • Lovely photos. I didn't know there were so many. I've seen a group of about 7 here in BC.

  • These marvelous birds stop here twice a year in the Tennessee Valley at the Hiwassee WildLife Refuge. They rest and fatten up before moving on to the next leg of their journey. A few are beginning to winter here since the corn is planted on the refuge for these wonderful birds!!

  • They are very good eating, too!!!

  • so are you

  • I can't believe Americans hunt these birds. Very sad.

  • blessers of the water

  • exellent video!!!

    thanks for sharing!

  • Very nicely done. I remember watch a male Sandhill doing his little courting dance for two females in a field near the Kettle Morraine State Forest (Southern Unit). He tossed dirt clods into the air trying to get their attention but was mostly thoroughly ignored for his efforts!

  • Exellent, photographs... really loved them... And naration, I can really sense your huge admiration for these beautiful birds. Also nice how you keep the bird sounds in the background through the presentaion excellent work.

  • very nice photos madam! Where in the world is Wisconsin? I love cranes they group in thousands hour ride from horse on the Russian steppe. I am also a photographer and have many photos of my Russian homeland on here.

  • Wisconsin sits between Lake Michigan on its east, the Mississippi River on its west, and Illinois on its south. Part of Michigan and, of course, Canada is north of Wisconsin. Iowa and Minnesota are just across the Mississippi River west of Wisconsin

  • This is just wonderful. As an amatuer photographer I can only aspire to this wonderful work. I absolutely love these images. Birds in flight. What can be more beautiful... oH I know, its endless. Thanks for sharing!!
