Alan Rickman on the DIE HARD fall

According to the BTS information I have gathered from the first Die Hard movie. The expression on Alan Rickman's face as he was falling was real, not pre-acted. Rickman didn't know what the stunt coordinators were going to do as he was hanging from a waste harness, unbeknownst to Rickman they cut the harness wire.
