  • UR 2 AWESOME! My favorite.

  • Been 2 yrs for me and its crazy how people jugde you n treat you way more differently even my family wernt suppourtive at 1st but now their all good buh some people get me soo paranoid and upset somtimes dam cant a girl where a hijab without being judged !!!

  • I love you all for teh sake of Allah SWT and pray that all our efforts are accepted as a form of ibadah and we can all help each other in fulfilling our deen. It took a really long time for me to stop wearing makeup and doing my eyebrows as it was something i felt i really needed to do and tried to look for so many excuses to make it islamically acceptable. In the end i managed to stop. Its for our own benefit we stop not for the benefit of anyone else. Its our reward, our grave and our jannah

  • Salam, sis. Love this video, and the message too! You inspire me, really. By the way, may I know the song you used in the beginning of the video?

  • @Amenakin ONLY reason I like your Hijab is because it's colorful and pretty (like you said "so what if it's bright"). I may never understand women who wear headscarves due to religious reasons or any reason for that matter since I was brought up differently...but it is great that you (and I) are lucky enough to live in a culturally diverse city where my "quirkiness" and your beliefs are respected by people (at least the non-ignorant ones). Keep on rockin' your style. It fits you well!

  • great video i can so relate to this and all of it was the truth because i have experienced and seen this happen to some sister`s... btw loved the video overall it was funny and you totally owned the sales assistance i was like you go girl! lol :)

  • masha´Allah! i just watched this video today.. i hv been wearing hijab lil more than 3 years.. n felt good watching it... well done! :)

  • ASA.... LOL... I dont know how i missed this one. But i love it. I have gotten the one where they ask if im not hot. ...but apart from that so far so good. Almost a year since i have converted. thanks for sharing.

  • Hey , Just love your videos . They are very inspiring and I can so much relate to it. I am planning to start wearing Hijab soon in few weeks (My deadline ..) Just gathering up the courage and confidence from your videos so i don't change my mind or go back to it. Keep up the good work and keep posting your videos. By the way just love your Toodles. Ciao!

  • im so ashamed of myself sometimes, becuz i don have a courage to wear hijab... :(im bothered what ppl will tell behind me,and some friends maybe'll stop talkin to me and so on..i know i must not care bout these things((Me & ma ex brokeup just becuz i don wear hijab, and he was cursing, offending me all the time" the girl without a hijab iz nothin but a b,,tch for me"..it makes me cry all the time rememberin it.I want to wear hijab only for the sake of Allah!

so pray for i canget courage 1 day..<3

  • @MeatEatingOrchide Just remember when you die and stand infront of Allah swt he will judge you Alone and no one will be there and no one will care it is between you and the creator so ask yourself who's opinion do you fear more? people like you and I? or the one who created you? remember GF/BF relations are haram, May Allah swt give you strength.

(ps please try to write in the proper English grammar so everyone can understand, Slang words are not cool )

  • Lol! I found this video really amusing!! Hehehehehe!! :P :D LOL

  • haha! many people tell me I am going to go to hell because I do my eyebrows :|

  • i had a similar reaction which was quite embarrassing...

"you used to be so pretty"

me only hearing you and pretty....

    "aw thanks"

"no i mean before. your hair was so nice- why you wearing it anyway?"

  • u r funny

  • I wear the hijab as well, but I have this huge self-conscious phase, as I am finally entering college!

I hate my scarves, or at least the way I tie them on, which is rather unpleasant on my face.

I still want to feel pretty, and I found your scarf style to be really pretty!

Could you tell me where you got them and how to tie it on??

THANKS A BUCH, it would really help me keep the scarf on forever InshaAllah!! (I plan on it anyways, but it'd help boost my courage)

  • This whole video made me LOL! I got most of these reactions too! x

  • Hahaha. Loved your video as usual. I've recently discovered your vids and I think they're great, but this is the first time I'm commenting =p

I'm actually surprised at the comment you received from other Muslims. I didn't get that at all! Weren't any of them nice to you apart from your family and friends? Although, I remember one time on the subway a middle aged blonde woman kept pointing at my friends and I to her preschool-aged son. We're all hijabi and they wear abayas, whereas, I wear pants

  • I get comments on my eyebrows all the time even though they are naturally arched. But people dont believe me!

  • Loveee this video..........

Reminds me of my first hijab story. On one saturday I attend my friend's wedding with my regular clothes without no hijab, in fact i wear a see through top with tank top underneath. And on sunday morning I wore a hijab and went to the market and bought a lot of hijabs and long shirt. On monday I showed up at work with hijab. And everyone was like "what happen to you girl ?" So funny. They all supportive though, most of them congratulated me.

  • You sound like a female version of baba Ali! I love this video though! =)

I started wearing Hijab when I was 16 and I'm 22 now and AlhamduLillah, I'm totally committed to wear it forever. I had the same opinion as yours about hijab before I started wearing it. I live in Pakistan and I still get asked questions like: Do you wear it while you shower? Did your parents make you wear it? And people automatically assume that everyone in my family is very religious. It's quite funny actually =P.

  • I love your acting! It made me lol! :P

  • assalamualaikum amena

I've recently discovered your videos and i must say you rock dear sis. I'm a hijaabi since a long time ( 20 years) and alhamdulillah haven't had any bad experience so far. prior to seeing your videos i was content with my plain and one colour hijaab but now i so love the flowery motifs. I've even tried some of your styles and they've been great hits . My kids and hubby just love the new me...Amena you've made my day ...thanks a million

  • Been watching your vids, and by far, this IS my Favourite!!!!! You're an inspiration! LOL......... *love the eyebrow bit* LOL!!!

  • salam alikum,

ya it is really challenging to wear a scarf, i'm 16 and i wear scarf , i like it but sometimes i just like how people do their hair in public.as u said hair n staff gives u confidence , however as u said, again, ppl will see the inner you rather than your outer beauty and thats what really matters

  • LOL

  • hahaha i loved this video!!!!

it's easily my favourite one on youtube !!!

  • ahh amena you made me laugh.. i finally put the hijab on after thinking about it for 10 years :o even though i live in a muslim country and most of my friends are covered, it was still a very hard thing to do.. and i did worry about people's reaction , thankfully i never got a bad reaction.. i know so many people who have had to deal with very discouraging family members....

mashallah i'm kinda hooked on your uploads...

  • Good for you keep it up....mashallah

  • Yours soo cute, I love your personality and how you see things.

  • I understand you very well..especially critics are similar to muslims here too..

  • hahaha woow..i've been wearing a scarf for three years and i've also gone through number 3 and number 2 on your list..thankfully i haven't heard number 1 yet alhamdulillah i actually get compliments on my colorful scarves. even though i should be used to it by now, the "foreigner & stupid" prejudice still gets me upset.

Mashallah wonderful video though!! and i completely agree with your end part of the video :)

  • aww poor thing u heard a lot of criticism ... i remember when i started wearing a scarf less than a year ago ... got so many comment but most were good ... :)

  • Amenakin! you are absolutely correct by all of these reactions. I get them also. I live in a small town and people are islamophobic! Most, of them still look at me very weird but, this is who I am and I will not change for no one. I love wearing my headscarf. Thanks for all your videos and tutorials, they have helped me out a lot. Keep up the good work.

    Salam Alaykum!

  • I am not a muslem my any streatch of the imagination. But this was actually hilarious!

  • Salam sis Amena, I loved your video, I seriously did. You are such a nice, good, cute person. Thanks for sharring your most favourite reactions of people about you wearing a Hijab! May Allah swt give us peace and curage to weir and keep weiring the Hijab, wasalam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu. Your sister from Holland

  • Well sis Amena, mayb through those really inappropriate comments, Allah SWT is trying to teach you somethin. You know, people always criticise. ALWAYS. But anyway, just try to take 'em easy :) The most important thing is to try more and more, to be better and strivin to improve day by day :) May Allah SWT Help us to follow the right path Sis.

    Assalamu Aleikom

    Sister Meryem.

  • lol Sis Amena this vid is hilarious!!! I've watched it before, but decided to watch it again for one main reason....So! I've decided to start wearing my hijab tomorrow...not just occasionally but for good...Truth be told i'm VERY nervous of how ppl are going to take it. I know I'm doing it for the right reasons, and i'm happy to wear my "PD's" :-), but you know how ppl can be at times...ah just pray for me that Allah(swt) gives me the confidence to get through the first couple of weeks!! Salam!

  • I think you've just summarised the reactions that most of my friends and I got in those first few months. You forgot one reaction: people in the trains and buses! thank you so much for this video, you're an inspiration :)

  • "You used to be so pretty!" hahaha, people are so dumb...

  • This video is so funny! People...

  • WESTERLINDT -NO PROBLEM -I THINK YOU WANT TO WEAR A SCARF FOR THE RIGHT REASONS - YOU ARE A RARITY BUT IT'S GOOD TO KNOW EVEN NON-MUSLIM WOMEN CAN SEE THAT A SCARF IS NOT A DEGRADATION. I'M A MUSLIM WOMAN, WEAR A SCARF, AND COMMEND YOU - GO FOR IT. IF YOU ARE REALLY WORRIED ABOUT WORKING OUT - MAYBE YOU COULD CHANGE THE STYLE - ALMOST LIKE A CAP THAT COVERS YOUR HAIR??? JUST A THOUGHT -I HOPE THIS HELPS. CHRISTIAN/JEWISH WOMEN USED TO ALWAYS COVER THEIR HAIR. GOD BLESS YOU.

  • Well first of all Macha'Allah to you sister. :)

You know what? People can't approach that way. I mean.. Are you perfect to judge someone's else behaviours? There are many muslim people which relate to new muslims or new Sisters which are not used to wear hijab and decide to wear it, this way just to show their superiority. And by the way...This is not Islam..AT ALL. So keep on your path :) Allah SWT will guide you sister and don't take it amiss..

  • @babyblueangel84 Dear, may God bless you for enduring this. I am so sorry that people can not simply be happy that you have found God for yourself. Though I'm not Muslim, I am very proud of you for taking a stand for what you believe in, despite living in a narrow minded community of people. Know that you have people supporting your' efforts to be obedient to Allah, even if we can not be near you. Remember, rising above their ignorance and hate is the best way to prevail in proving them wrong!

  • @ElianaTali

What a lovely response to her great video! You speak true and kind words.

  • For a small amount of time, I have been considering wearing a scarf. The things I'm concerned about involve me working out. I'm not Islamic, but would like to wear a scarf more, to be valued at for my personality not my body. Would it be an insult to wear a scarf most of the time, but not for the 8-10 hours a week that I work out? Some of those trainings involve working in the hot sun in florida at the hottest parts of the day. I want feedback so that I don't offend people in my personal choice

  • @westerlindt I think if you wear a scarf for presenting your personality even not full-time is a good thing, I wear the scarf full-time however I am not wearing it as I am supposed to as a Muslim but anyways I wear it for the sake of God :)

  • Hahahahahah i loved the work ones (not that the others sucked) but yea, cuz i only started wearing my scarf in june of this year, and i was finishing up my 11th year in high school and the reactions i received were very similar! like this one "but we've already seen your hair, whats the point?" or "well....does that mean you can wear a wig?" or my personal favorite "oh my god! it's not halloween is it?" may i remind you this was in june! i nice hot smoldering day in june! ok i'm done :)

  • Sorry bout the other msg. It anoys me wen women tell me things. They barely even knw me. I agree wid u @bingaling22

  • Lol. Amena ur epic. I'm 14 n Iv bn wearing hijab for a me own choice n I too do hijab styling. Lol.coz I was far from the type to wear hijab( ask any1) it shockd some people. Bt I knw hw u feel wen people say things that doesn't concern them in any way(hijab). N being me I've always stood up for myself. It dnt happen nw. Well...(a dif matter)lol. Ur inspiring!

  • Lol. Amena ur epic. I'm 14 n hv bn wearin hijab for a year frm me own choice.n I love hijab stylin too. Peas Neva the type to wear a hijack I t

  • Amena ur epic. I'm 14 n for a yr I've bn wearing hijab from my own choice.n I enjoy n do hijab styling too.I actuly set a The reactions I got was mixed. Cause id bn far from the typed girl who'd wear a hijab or was let a following rules of Islam. N if people say anything to me about my hijab or Islam. I stand up for my self in a gd way appropriate for the situation. I've always bn that type to not let no one knock me down. Btw ur very inspiring. X

  • On my second day wearing Hijab (2 days ago) I met an old friend in a supermarket, who shouted at the top of her voice " What are you doing?" Not knowing what to say I just looked at her blankly. She proceeded to make a spectacle of me at the checkouts in a supermarket rambling on about how the scarf had nothing to do with religion and was about male oppression of women blah blah blah. Ok, first bad reaction, now I guess I need to learn some quick educated responses to a situation like that.

  • i have just recenly dicided to wear a scarf and watching your videos have been really helpful. and i cant belive the comments you have got. A woman can wear any color she wants idiots which tell us we cant give the most stupid unauthentic hadith.and they themselves know nothing of isam the prophet has actually forbid the men of this ummah to wear a particular colour but not the women. and women can also wear make up. one of the atrabutes of allah is beauty and we need to implement them.

  • @bingaling22 congratulations on taking the step to wearing hijab, m'A! And I love your username lol

  • I love ALL your videos and keep watching it again and again. Plz make some more new ones on out fit of the day thankyou.

  • Salam

i starting wearing hijab and i wear it in HIGH SCHOOL too and let me tell ya it is like challenege its hard and people stare at you like you have 6 eyes. but alamduiallah i got more attention people ask questions not offending questions alamduiallah and people are learning islam through me cause i tell me them everything about islam. and some of my friends even want to become islamic its great. and you have encouraged to wear it proudly and with pride and i thank you for that(:

    -Jaz'A(:

  • @iloveegypt16 Wa 'alaikum as-salaam... m'A what a brave step to start wearing it in High School when it can be a really difficult change. May it be made easy for you and you experience the wonderful blessings in it :o) Ameen

  • ohmyy, i absolutely adore your videos! i'm a 10th grader in highschool, and i just recently started wearing a hijab full-time :) and your videos have inspired me in such a way that i am now looking for more creativity when i wear it to school on a daily basis. i really gotta say i got most of the same reactions as you, plus the fact that people asked me if i shaved my head :P haha.

  • haha that was so well done!! i love your videos and all the advice that you give mashAllah =)

  • hahahaha lol amena u make me laffff!!!!!!!!!! lol

    great acting btw!

  • "It is haram to do your eyebrows!!" Hahahaha I think I went back and watched you do that like 5 times coz it cracks me up how funny you did it. Hahaha you deserve an oscar for that. I think I found it especially funny because MANY people have told me the exact same thing, and I have no idea how to react to it, so I usually just smile as a way of dodging that awkwardness. It's such a small matter, but still, I wanna know, how DO you deal with it?

  • Salaam sis Amena, thank u for posting this ramble it was just the tonic I needed! Alhamdolillah I've been wearing the hijab now for 3 years now and I can't ever imagine being without it now. Ur ramble was so true and to the point if the reactions u get wen u start wearing it. A so called muslim friend came to my house one day n seen as I was at home with the children I wasn't wearing the hijab n she said "oh ur hair is so nice, y do u cover it up?" Aaaaaaaaaagh!!! I felt like screaming! But luc

  • i love this video because it is so relatable! the things people say just to put you down. its just ridiculous. when my sister first wore it, someone told her, "yeah i know person who wore and took it off soon after" and when i wore it someone who didnt wear it said "make sure ur wearing it for the right reasons. a lot of people wear it as a trend. im not ready to wear it yet" like seriously? hahaha. someone also told me " u look better without ur scarf" the its so hot comment is a classic!

  • as.salaam .alaikum ..well, its so amazing bcos i got the samre reactions from my friends and relatives too...so i'm not the only one!!its only been 3 months since i've started wearing hijab..love yr videos..hv learnt many styles..Jazak allah .

  • Salamaleykum wr wb sis - hmmm its a very entertaining video but you have actually said some incorrect things....I will not go into detail here because this is not the place to in any way belittle you or make you look stupid....may Allah guide u and us all to the path...waleykumselam

  • Salam Sista I just convert like a year ago allahumdallah n right then after a stared to were it n yes it was so different but in a good way for me as other people I did get most of ur thing u got said n mushallah u r so beautiful (Bonita) n is just Allah putting us in a test I know there an other word but it can't think at the moment sorry put take u for ur videos

  • Omg that was AWESOME! I believe that desi's get their best ideas/moments late @ nite. This is surely proof with this lovely hilarious awesome video you made! And I've seen the baba ali 1: funny but this is funny AND I can relate to it!

My fav: ...nvm can't pick a fav all ur impersonations were extremely funny. Made me lol @ 4 am :p

  • In the life of ‘Man’, there is great emphasis and importance placed on the matter of privacy and modesty. This is the specific quality which sets ‘Man’ aside from other creation. All the religions of the World, although there may be differences in beliefs and practices, are all in agreement that ‘Mankind’ should not roam the streets naked, as animals do.

  • Love it!!!xx

  • gosh ur so funny :) :) xx

  • LOL to the people. I've been hijaabi since I was 11 but it doesn't make me like an awesome muslim or anything. However, doing the eyebrows is haraam and will send us straight to hell. I ended up asking a Shaikh about it and he said it would send us straight to hell for altering our face.. as if we're unsatisfied with what Allah has given us. In this case, our face. She shouldnt have said it hypocritcally, yes, but we're supposed to tell someone if they;re doing wrong and don't know it.

  • haha i was laughing throughout this video

    love all your vidss :D

  • i love your videos!! they are so helpful and funny! i loved the part where you imitating the other muslim's reactions, especially where you were like its haram!! LOL i kept watching that many times hehe!! i love your color!!!

and also your face is is pretty, how do you keep it so clear? :))

  • the last one was said to me too..lol you used to be so pretty!

  • have started wearing a scarf on my head tooo (but not quite there with the hijaab)had weird looks from every one ....had all the strange comments that you mentioned in your video .............the worst demon was a voice inside telling me i looked strange and i felt paranoid that every one was staring . but was quite the opposite i felt i was being protected from the staring eyes of men ..which gave me inner confidence to continue.....now i feel strange with out my scarf wen i go out ...:-)

  • LOL! I loved this ramble! I have received many of the reactions you talk about when I first started wearing the hijab. I once got this reaction from a fellow muslim--"You look good...Even though you're wearing a hijab...you look good." It's almost as if you're expected to not look nice wearing one. Anyways, thanks for sharing your experience Amena! MashaAllah, you're an inspiration.

  • -Is today holiday in your country?

    -No.

-What's that thing on your head?

The funniest question (with absolutely serous face) I have ever heard is "Do you sleep with your headscarf too?"

    I LOVE PEOPLE

  • wahahhahah, so true! I just started wearing headscarf, and get these kind of reactions every single day! My first day was like:

-Is today holiday in your country?

    -No.

-What's that thing on your head?

The funniest question (with absolutely serous face) I have ever heard is "Do you sleep with your headscarf? too"

    I LOVE PEOPLE!

  • ohhh sis i feel your pain, criticizing you in the same breath -_-

  • I saw your videos "How to wear a Headscarf' and want to thank you for shearing it with audience. It is so beautiful. I never realized how difficult actually it is. I think women look more mysterious in Hijaabs then without them.

  • salam wa alaikom wa rahmuttallah wa baraketou sister i love love love love watching your video's. I replayed this video about 6 times, your so funny you made me laugh.

  • i dunoo wich videoo i commented on :S but you never replied to my comment ? :S but you have to everyone else ....

  • Assalamu Alaykum Amenakin,

i loooove your work. Exspecill this video it really good. You are so naturel, and autentic..... i like that. I am a new muslim and i didn´t find now the right way to wear the hijab, but with your tutorials, i hope i find the right way. Keep going with your work here. INSHALLAH.

  • @wbegum1 Wa 'alaikum as-salaam sis... j'A for your kind words. I think you're right - there is a beauty about hijab that you can see on all hijabi's faces. I'm glad you like the videos and hope they continue to be beneficial, i'A!

  • I loooooooooove this video! am still yet to deal with that, been wearing thanks to your help.. 6 weeks now :D you wouldnt believe the reactions I get in Khaleej LOL people turn around when they hear my accent etc, comment "you're so young" ! oh "why"?! .. it makes perfect sense! And I know hell it was soo hard at first but now feel purer than unscarfed women.. strange term but I do! I'm too sexy without it LOL

  • salamzz juss wanntedd too askk iff yuw do urr eyebrows??

  • i guess im going thru a normal phase emotionally and yes thanks for saying it out that it is a challenge and im looking forward to discover new confidence in myself by wearing hijab. keep up with the awesome vids. while that, pls give more ideas on wearing hijabs in a hot humid and heaty weather. thaaanksss...

  • I love your videos! I came across them looking for different ways to wear my hijab. I don't wear one all the time, only when I go to prayer, and sometimes when I get up the confidence to wear it out of the house when I am off of work. I can't wear one full time, my job doesn't allow it. (I'm a police officer in the States) I do get a lot of weird looks when I do, and it makes me feel so on the spot! Insha' Allah I will wear it full time! I love your style, so colorful just like me!

  • @locsofebony Thanks! Colour is always good haha :o)

  • Salam ameena! Ure soo funny.

Love ur tutorials.. Love ur hoojabs..

Pls kip the videos coming. Ure such an inspiration.

Ive started to wear the hijab recently n yes, some comments were surprisingly offensive.. Abt make up, color we wear..

Not forgeting the cynical ones, " why so soon? U should flaunt it, not hide it!"

    " are u balding?"

Anyhoo... Insya'allah im strong to face the challenges... ;D

Keep ur tutorials coming ya.. Love the layering n ur creativity.

  • @SalomaButterfly Wa 'alaikum as-salaam sister... aw thanks! Yes, they can be offensive - never had the "are you balding" comment before, though lol!

  • @SalomaButterfly hahaha i got the are you balding tooo...i couldn't contain my laughter so i laughed to there face which was quite rude but i couldnt help it :P

I get the eyebrows one makeup one as well. Also when i ride my bike i get interesting comments from others which i find bizzare as well.

  • I absolutely LOVE this video!! Sis you are soo funny mA! Lol.. Agree with all the points you made. If wearing a bright scarf makes you feel more confident, then why not wear it. Better wearing brighter hijab and appreciating it than feeling resentful towards it xxxx

  • OMG that was like my story....

  • @ayeshasajid1 we're not alone

  • i have an itch on my foot..hehe lol :) a comment i had once was, " Do you wear that to bed?" "Err, no.." "Do you wear it in the shower?" "haaaahahahahhaha... oh.. sorry.. i didn't mean to laugh so rudely.. umm no i dont wear it in the shower..." What silly questions..! these have happened many times in school! and there are even sillier ones about Islam.. "Are Muslims Islams?" "Where is Islam?" "So what religion are you? Muslim? i thought you told me another day that you were Islam.." lol.....
  • U used to be so pretty!! I have heard that so many times. And u have so pretty hair, why do u hide that? And who are u? Hello!! It's me! And the one that I like the best is probably, do u get mold on your head??? Hello??? Do we get mold on our bodies??? People can be so awfull to us. We are still humans, even thoug our heads are covered. And the muslimah sisters, I am just not ready! Please. I am not making u wear it. I haven't said a word!!! Pls do talk more about this problem! pls?

  • @bismillaislam They ask if you get mold?!! What the heck?! Weirdos.

  • Please please please please please do a tutorial on how to wear the hijab style that you are in the video please !!!!!!

  • Great Video!

  • your impersonations of these people is funny lol but at the same time you make a really good point. I think you look pretty either way

  • you've wrapped up all my sentiments in this wonderful video of yours...i even felt a little emotional when you talked about the patronizing sales assistant...and your reaction --> priceless! :)

  • Could you teach us how to wear that hijab style? Great video!!!

  • actually the only reaction that i had is that my family gives me much support so i always feal comfortable in it secondly its not so much dificult to wear hijaab as mutch if you love it and if its your chois ....

  • Ha ha!!!! iv had all those reactions too...especialy the 'no make up' and 'no plucking the eyebrows'etc.

the ignorant shop assistant is a classic one. this is the first vid i'v watched and i found myself laughing! so am gonna go watch the others! keep up the great work mashallah x ps: hijaab does keep you cool in summer and warm in winter mashallah!

  • I had most of those comments also! It was such a hard decision for me to wear the scarf ad some of those comments hurt at first. But then i just thought that it was my choice and i was doing it for Allah. I love your videos. Tahnk you so much.

  • My son-in-law is muslim and my daughter who did convert to Islam decided to start wearing Hijab and people have been given her the same kind of reactions even worse they make similar comments like "you are so young" or Your hair is so beautiful etc. however she remains strong and we her parents have always supported her in her decisions, wether they be difficult or easy. I thank you so much for your insight.

  • Youre a wonderful and supporting parent :) God bless you!

  • @tinkerbel49 You're very welcome. I hope she remains strong in her convictions and wish her the best :o)

  • Oh Siste, I am laughing so hard. I love it! I got pretty much the same reaction. You know about the eyebrows and make-up. My response was, hey! I have a unibrow and since I started plucking when I was 14, I bearly have to do it at all, lol.

A man in a major department store came up to me and ask why I wore hijab and said that I was so covered that he wanted to tell me, I'd missed a spot. Why do you cover up, you're so pretty...funny. How did he know if I were pretty or not.

  • Salams sister, thanks for all the hijab turorial, i just wanted to ask is doing your eyebrows haram? if yes or no can you give any evidnce, i,e hadith. Cheers

  • @skeafarat: Wa 'alaikum as-salaaam... there are many different opinions (even mainstream ones) for many different ahadith. I would urge you to research the opinions & draw your own conclusion :o)

  • You truly amazing. I admire your courage to adorn the hijaab and congratulations on that,i've always worn the hijaab, so for me there wasnt any challenge of changing my style. Some of the most beautiful women are veiled so i hope that stands to clear assumed reasons of wearing hijaab. Hope all you beautiful ladies stand true to yourselves and stand up for what you believe in love ya all! xxx

  • I truly think you're a lovely confident person.. I my self wear hijab and pluck my eyebrows and wear make-up.. but the difference is that I live in a muslim country so it really isn't that difficult to wear hijab it is actually the normal thing to do so I imagine that it is hare for women who live in the western world..

  • I love your comments but I just want to say that I'm not critisizing anyone but muslim women should wear hijab it is not a choice we are applegate to do it, but the difference is when you do it cuz you belive in doing it not cuz someone forced you to.. and about the eyebrows it is haram to pluck your eyebrows if you go back to ahadeeth.. I myself clean them cuz they are thick so I'm not judging anyone but it really is..

  • By the way I truly think you're a lovely confident person.. I my self wear hijab and pluck my eyebrows and wear make-up.. but the difference is that I live in a muslim country so it really isn't that difficult to wear hijab it is actually the normal thing to do so I imagine that it is hare for women who live in the western world..

  • when u acted out the "plucking eyebrows is haraam" bit i laughed so hard!!! funny!!

great video, and that's right, ppl shouldn't judge u like that....very amazing video..

  • @monifahkiani1 Thank you :o)

  • I feel your pain! LOL (^_^) some people ar just hobnobs,...

  • hahaha yeah i've gotten the "ohh i didnt recognize you with that onnn ...but you hd such nice hair" and the "ohh you will be warm in the winter" one girl even said "maybe it has something to do with that (being cold in the winter" hahaha and the "you used to look pretty" loollll.

    thanks for sharinggg! :)

  • you're so funny haha I personally HAve gotten the whole "you shouldn't do your eyebrows" and why are you wearing so much makeup, plus the sales ppl that follow you around assuming you NEED to be stalked so you don't steal anything, and the dumb questions on extremely hot days by scantly clad girls asking "aren't you hot in thaaat??", plus many more unpleasant reactions, I love your light hearted approach and your self confidence-- good on ya :)

  • lol the Baba Ali hood

  • haha aww ur soo funny, im inshallah going to start wearing my scarf to work and dreading the comments, hope they are not as bad as yours :( but i so know what you mean about sales assistants as i have noticed the change in how some of them serve me compared to when i didnt wear my scarf.

  • I hate when people think that if you take hijab, you cant look pretty and do makeup. Why do they look at women who take hijab as people who are supposed to be unattractive and not make themselves noticeable?

  • looolll the eyebrows and make up one so common x

  • hahahaha

i remember when i moved to a new state and ppl at my college thought i didnt speak english..aaah the funny ol' days lol

  • yes it bothers them because they are not :)

  • Salam sister :] i loveee your videos and about the last comment- i think u are beautiful! m'A keep up the great videos

  • @loveandance: Wa'alaikum as-salaam, sister... thank u for watching! :o)

  • MashALlah you are soooooooo great!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!

  • ughh...I still get the same patronizing reactions in NYC if I'm not talking. Once I start talking they back off.

My SIL is the same way omg "I'm not comfortable to wear the hijab yet...When it will call to me I'll wear it."

Personally I think she's waiting to turn 60.

  • @emmim44... yeh, the talking does tend to change people's mind about you... fast!

  • i love this vid!...bein da only muslim asian (bengali) on my crse at uni, they all 1st thought i was a foreign arab student and when an east lndn accent came out they wre like huh? but alhamdulillah they are so open minded that they continuosly ask me about islam and when its paryer time remind me of it and the girls even come to the prayer room with me...alhamdulillah sis- ur hijab is a sign and also a door for others to probe u and ask who u r...great job mashallah!!!! xxx

  • @Misspurple0902: Alhumdullilah, it's comforting to have open minded people around :o)

  • @Amenakin I loooooooooove this video! am still yet to deal with that, been wearing thanks to your help..

  • I have gotten the same comment as you the one who says you looked so pretty before. People still today tell me that I look better without it, but the really don't get what I great feeling it is to have it on.

  • love ur video...mashallah

  • Asalamalaikum sis

MashAllah keep it and dont let those ppls comment bring u down .. cus when it all comes down to it - they don't matter! it's for Allah swt =)

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! your sooo funny and walahi the stories are realli true!!

Mashallah, its made you feel happy and its a good thing for yourself.

thanks for the video, fellow hijabi :P

p.s- why add in the piano music in the background?! its annoying! wanna listen to ur rambling more than that , LOL

  • you're welcome :o)

  • Assalamu Alaykum...

Couldn't help but ponder over the "eyebrow" comment...I cannot tell if you do [as some naturally have wonderful eyebrows!] but are you aware of its ruling in islam?

Btw - wonderful to see you wearing the hijab and not being put off!

  • Wa 'alaikum as-salaam

Yes, I am aware of the different rulings regarding the eyebrows & physical appearance.
