  • beautiful

  • This was a great video

I played it while playing videos of bird songs for my cat and when she saw the bird on the screen she came off my lap and went right up to the screen staring at the bird. She rubbed her paw on the screen and tried biting it in the screen too. She even checked behind the computer to see if the bird was behind my computer. Poor gal didnt realized it was a videotaped bird. She was very confused afterward.

  • cute, my baby tree swallow would try to attack the picture of the seagulls at the beach on my laptop screen.

I have a video of it here.

    Thanks for sharing

  • Love this, brings back memories

  • What a blessing to hear you, little bird!

  • : )

  • nice!

  • Thanks!

  • How did you get such good quality footage? Most songbirds are too wary of humans to get that close!

  • I explain in the comments...

This shot was taken up close (within 5 feet).

I taped an earlier song from her and then played it back to attract her closer, and it worked!

    Thanks for asking and viewing.

  • ahhh love it! so relaxing!

    thanks for posting (:

  • Thanks! And for viewing.

  • nice singing going on...

  • what kind of sparrow?

  • No offense but did you look at the Title?

    It says Song Sparrow.

  • 2 different songs. showing the process of things.....lol

  • Nice song. Unfortunately bird does not live in my country...

  • They don't ? but at first glance at your youtube site, i see birds.

  • But not this species.

  • k, will check em out. Been busy.

  • lol i can't belive i bump into u again tstormer on acident

  • ahah!! ;)

  • This video reminds me of that old gospel song, His eye is on the sparrow that reminds us even if God takes the time to look after a tiny sparrow, He takes care of His children too.

  • Thanks for your comment. That is an awesome song. I agree too.

  • Love it!!!

  • Thanks! Best one for the Song Sparrow of last yr

  • I have a song sparrow in my yard. I use this to communticate. his name is buddy ^^

  • He comes around every yr here. Cool name :o)

  • this is not the one, i usually see in back yard, nice song and different kind of sparrow, where do i find them?.. thanks for posting

  • Song Sparrow, they just come around every yr here. Maybe you are seeing the House Sparrow?

  • One of these guys has taken a liking to a certain window of my house. He perches on the outer window sill and hops around, sometimes pecking the glass.

  • The song sparrow, does he sing for ya?

    Hah lol.

  • Hey, I always hear this little birdie! It's such a good video, too!

  • Oh thank you! He has returned! A video posting soon.

  • I love the song of this bird it's so relaxing.

  • Yes he is! thanks for checking out the vid!

  • i have tons! of theses guys at my bird feeder.. at least 20 to 30 here in CT.

  • oh yeah cool...Im a metal head!

  • hah, cute. So did my ex-girlfriends, and on her head sometimes...but his fave place was in between her bra! It was so cute. Clip their flying feathers and they cant fly away.

  • hah cute

A ex girlfriend used to have a pet Love bird and he would play hide and go seek...pretty funny. He was hand tamed and loved to has his neck rubbed.

  • hah, good one! I like the bloke too!'

    aye matey!

  • The song sparrow's song has been my favorite since childhood, followed by the wood thrush, of course. Where did you make this video? I've noticed they have different regional 'accents.'

  • Western NY. Me too and they are cute birdies.

  • OoopS! Didn't mean to add that last comment! Was looking up info & didn't mean to use the copy & paste thing!

  • Its ok I deleted it.

  • You know what I LOVE about this video? The fact that after he sings his little song, he pauses & looks around [like he's looking for that special mate] & the look on his face seems to be, 'Any takers?? Anyone interested enough to call back?'

  • yeah Thats cute huh. Did you read the other comments and mine...I attracted him by playing his own song back to him.

  • I did read them. I just like the look on his face, it's really cute. I just remember that these birds were very common when I was a child. I heard their songs all the time, now I never do. I get the feeling unlike house sparrows, they don't do well in the suburbs.

Beautiful song that took me down memory lane.

  • He is one of my Fave birdies!

The House Sparrows are nasty birds.

    Awe...great!

  • I hae since found out that house sparrows are not native to the United States but were brought over here from England. They're actually very aggressive birds compared to say bluebirds which used to be the State Bird Of Massachusettes.[many, many years ago] When house sparrows were introduced, they were effective in destroying bluebirds nests & driving them away. [territorial little buggers]

  • Oh yeah I already read all about em. Have you seen my Tree Swallow series?

The House Sparrows killed them! Those birds will build a nest right on top of the dead birds.

I tried to get the sparrows with a BB gun to no avail. The last baby swallow stepped out right into my hand!

  • Ohhhh, If I saw that I think I might cry as I'm a sucker for anything little & cute. :) This website says HS are actually Old World Weaver Finches where the male's bond for his nesting site is actually stronger than his bond for his mate. I'll have to look up your tree swallow series cause I'm sure it's really good~

  • Yeah I call em nasty birds!

Yeah they are from Europe. Oh yeah they fight for the box. We did haev Blue Birds that checked it out, then the first Sparrow was successfully killed, then the Swallows took over...for a long time, had 5 babies..then another HS started attacking...believe me we did more to try to kill it too.

  • I have an old nest near my window and there are two male birds fighting over it, I'm pretty sure they are both Song Sparrows

(I have my door open right now and I can hear them singing)

  • Cool! I love Song Sparrows....the House Sparrows are nasty birds

  • You've made a first rate video here, and it's definitely of interest to this birder!

  • Hey thanks! One of my best I think.

  • Out of curiosity, what kind of camera/zoom do you have?

  • This shot was taken up close (within 5 feet).

    The zoom capability is 35x's

  • Ah 5 feet, k lol, thats really cool that he let you come so close. Great video thx.

  • Thank you for checking him out.

I lured him closer by playing his song back.

  • Thats great :D

  • Breathtaking video! Very angelic bird. So nice to actually see it singing:) Thank you!

I saw a song sparrow for the first time when it appeared at the end of my white-throated sparrow video. I am totally in awe of this bird!

  • Thanks! Yes and it was a pleasure to tape.

  • Thank you. Lovely quality video, and fascinating. Where was your bird filmed? Although a familiar and favorite songbird, I've never had the privelege of watching one so closely as it sings. These videos should be of great interest to birders.

  • I taped an earlier song from her and then played it back to attract her closer, and it worked!
