That is a BEAUTIFUL!!!!! Did you make that? Wouldn't be surprised if you did. It looks AMAZING! Also, I used to have wild bamboo in my backyard and it grew ALOT!! I remember when I was about 4 I thought the bamboo was a HUGE forest. LOL
@DanTheGuppyMan Thanks for the feedback GuppyMan! We're proud of our work and we love what we do. I surrounded by an amazing team, it's the only way I could do all that I do!
I want to start a business doing this that's how inspired I am and if I have a question for as to how to do something on a water feature I can just study these videos. Or is it more complicated than that. Think I could get any customers with under a year experience and 1 photo of a previous job at my own house?
I am inspired and I think its awesome that you're taking the time to make these tutorials. My question for this video is how often should I clean the filters. How much time and money did it take to build that mini Brazilian rain forest.
@lazyboyinc The cleaning of the filters is really determined by the quantity and size of the fish in the pond. Most of these mechanical bio filters should be cleaned quarterly. Some pond owners do it once or twice a year while we have other clients that clean them monthly.
beautiful pond your showing off, nice falls, great water clarity too! Bout time someone else stood up for bamboo, it gets SUCH a bad rap like you said. I have 7 species of bamboo growing on my property and I have not experienced any of the problems that scares people away from such an amazing plant. Nice job Digger!!
@hlamos1 We just uploaded a video last night. Trying to keep em coming. This latest one isn't a glamor video but a solid HOW TO install a pond float valve in a skimmer. Stay tuned for more.
The filter integrated with the falls is a great idea. I'm redoing my mom's pond and I'll definitely be incorporating it! Ponds are worth the effort and you've been an inspiration. Thanks!
Pond looks awesome! Great video. Honestly I'd like to see you show in a video how to set up that automatic fill valve and how that taps into a line inside the skimmer box. That'd be really informative and helpful. Thanks.
As always Eric, awesome pond and excellent video. Any chance of the forums coming back, I miss all the people and the wealth of knowedge that was always available in your forums. Btw, I built my pond early this spring, bought a couple of koi from Kodama and they spawned. We actually have a couple of baby koi swiming around the pond now. We are so excited. The wife has already given me the green light to build a bigger pond woohoo :)
@MrBigfishbrad your very lucky im to young to get a job and pay for everything so im pleading with my parents to let me build a pond good luck with yours
@Bazil1869 I hope you win over your parents! Ponds are such a great learning ground at so many different levels. Tell them it's for the education. Good Luck!
@MrBigfishbrad Thanks for the feedback. Pond Keeping is an addiction so glad to hear the wife has given you the go ahead to grow! Great to hear about the new family members swimming around in your pond. The forum is always on my mind and do intend on re-establishing it. I don't have any conclusive information on when the forum will be up again. Keep in touch with us for now on Youtube and Facebook
@ThePondDigger Eric, I hope you and all your wonderful staff had a great Christmas. Gearing up for this new pond build. And my head is spinning. Really struggling with the pond shape with the allotted area I have to build in. It looks as though this pond may be close to 10,000 gallons. Is that to big to run on a biofall setup. I figure I’ll need at least two bio falls and a big skimmer like the one in this video. What are your thoughts?
@MrBigfishbrad A 10k pond can certainly be managed with a couple of waterfall filters and a large skimmer. We typically review the goals and expectations of the pond with the soon to be pond owner before suggesting life support systems. I'd gladly look at your design before you pull the trigger. Let me know.
@Roninlord25a I couldn't tell you a thing about planting in PA as I'm a Southern California boy. Many varieties of bamboo can tolerate snow. You can choose from running bamboo as well, you just need to be sure and use rhizome barriers when planting to contain it.
Very inspired! I'm starting a pond project next week and the waterfall (like the waterfalls in Hawaii) is much like the one we want to make. Thanks for posting!
@ThePondDigger Welcome! We got set back a day making several trips to Home Depot trying to figure out the right PVC fittings to buy. Our flex hose didn't fit the given adapters for the Easy Pro Pump 2200 (we got from your website! Thank you!) and the waterfall filter outlet is a 0.5" bigger than the Mag Drive discharge. So far, it took three of us 2 hours to dig a hole 9' x 8' x 1' deep in an area riddled with tree roots from an old pine tree. Can't wait to get back at that hole today!
grear video, good to see you bad your videos are always a pleasure to watch and inspire me to do something in my back yard, can we have a couple vids a month, thanks ;-)
@imnodoubtflatout Thanks for the feedback. Our goal is a couple of vids a month but it's not easy to do with all that we have going on. Trust and believe we are always working on our next video. Stay tuned and thanks for watching.
@ThePondDigger thanks, my dream pond is not possible for me to fulfill here in the uk its just too cold here, but this is my dream pond, a large pond with waterfalls with sting rays, piranahas, turtles etc and lizards in the enviroment, this is possible with an indoor pond setup but i would love it outdoors, i know somewhere like america is warm enough for this ;-)
@slamansj I'm a big fan of UV filters. You can balance some ponds without UV and others just flat out need UV to keep the pond in check. I wanna build a pond in my garden, but I don't know if I'm good enough at maintaining. How can I know if I'm capable of keeping a pond?

@TheBoaConstrictor95 Ponds are easy to maintain if built and designed correctly. YOU CAN DOOOO IT!

of the pond. Too many builders don't getthat part of it. Well done.
