It is simply because when you play in live there are many things influencing your voices like temperature,if you rehersed to prepare your voice and also tell yourself that it is certain that it can't be like on the album ther is always some sound sampling
they definitely need a second guitarist. i mean, my band plays with backing tracks too, but i hate it when the stuff you could actually _play_ on stage comes from those tracks.
