Very nice interview, he was very engaging, but man, what a scary looking beard! I absolutely love the movie, and he played the hell out of the Jackal. Yay, Mr. Fox! He is right about the film still holding up in modern times. I think it takes on an even more special poignancy since 9/11.
(I love the way the color of his socks match his jacket perfectly.)
Yes, his beard is grown for the one-man stage show that he was doing call 'An evening with Anthony Trollope'. Google 'Anthony Trollope' and you will see the resemblance.
@JohnnyLackland A petition is a request by a group of people, not a decision by vote. There are petitions and even referendums in monarchies, including Britain.
that is a really great post. i love this film and this is a very insightful look behind the scenes.

Difficult to see "Edward Fox" behind the beard and soft voice, but wonderful to hear him speak fondly of this movie, my favorite movie.

Wonderful. Thanks very much for this post. But since it's obviously edited, could more of this interview be made available somehow?

@bizzbizz100 How true! Are there petitions for something like that?

@aplantage , Do not be absurd, this is about British royal society, not republicanism.

Didn't they have any chairs other than those?

Pity they never did a sequel.... 'Night of the Jackal' with the evil Jackal resurrected as a vampire assassin.....
On second thoughts, that might seem a little far-fetched.

Is that Edward Fox under all that? Gad, he looks like Dusty Hill's grandfather.

Thank you so much for uploading this. I love Day of the Jackal (both the book and movie) and I'd always wanted to hear Fox talk about it.
