it depends on what one of the three you press, one sustains the note, one softens the note and the other one is the sostenuto pedal which isn't used that often.

i think its because if you want the note to hold for longer you pressit down and when you want it to stop you lift your foot...

Wow, I REALLY liked this. I especially liked how you would retain the melody, but would shift into a different style, like at 0:27, or at 2:15 when you go into the minor key.

And I liked how rich it was in the chorus. It really made me think it was arranged for piano, rather than just a transcription of the guitar.
