I just uploaded my own video review for "Dead Man's shoes: In The Night Garden" @ my 7Brett5 account if anyone wants to watch it. I made it for you pommy bastards.
I watched this a few weeks back on Film Four. Now I've seen some disturbing films. This is one of the most powerful and disturbing films I have ever seen. The drug scene, the cold, calm and detatched acting by Paddy Considine. Fucking brilliant. This film is one of the greatest British films made.
Great film, Paddy Considine is superb, as is everyone else, Gary Stretch, ex boxer and one time beau of Chrissy Hind is very good indeed, a very memorable great british film.
Anybody not seen this film yet.. i suggest you pull your finger out your ass. One of them films you can watch over n over n it still smash you in the face like POW! Deep film.
If there's an alternate ending to a movie it means the director is sniffing cocaine and injecting heroin and had no idea what direction to take to begin with - he's a transvestite - an each-wayer - so I'd rather watch The Titty Boo's & The Ponty Pines do Upsy Daisy in the ass with a 9 iron than watch Hugh Grant in Dead Man's shoes. The cunt of it is - I'm left with this DVD as I bought it, unfortunately! "Tony: London Serial Killer" shits on DMS! In The Night Garden 4 Lyf! Word.
I've always wondered how RIchard knows all that's happened to his brother, and all the events leading up to the hanging. If he knew even a tenth of what happened before the incident, why didn't he step in earlier?
Im a grown man (24), and I have never cried while watching a film, I didnt on this either, but it was fucking close, when he tells that he can still hear his brother. A very good film, brilliant acting, by both Paddy and Kebbell.
@sean9234 i'm starting to consider the same opinion.......best film i've seen in veerry long time .....this movie impacts this living shit out out of me!!!!!!
Does anybody know the actor's name of the one who kills Richard?! The character AND actor name would be reall useful, most websites are just referring to him as "the man" and I'd rather not have to do that because he actually had quite a big role in the scene!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
i dint like this film much to be fair, it would have been a whole lot better if we actually saw him kills sumone, the only killing we saw in the film was this part
you see him shoot sonny (i think his name is) in the head, he stabs the other guy, punches the other one so hard he dies. the film isnt really about the killing itself, its about the emotional part of it too, i guess some people are too dull to see how great it is, they just want violence
The moment he said "He still is..." broke my heart the first time I watched it. Even after all the embarrasement, anger and guilt, he still loved his brother. In that one moment you get to see the broken man beneath it all.
@ScreamingTc - Likewise...I was brought to tears the first time and several times since. Heart-wrenching and truly some of the best acting I've ever seen is in this movie. Yes - he still loved his brother. And, for those of us with brothers who were picked on - I can relate so much more. I feel guilty for not doing more when I was younger. I now have two sons...irony. The storyline, direction, and summation of all the roles make this film legendary. I have told so many people about it.

Revenge movies are the best. I can't choose between this and Man on Fire. This was incredible considering the budget though.

Is Anthony an actual retard in real life? If not, he's an excellent actor.

Brilliant.
