@alex112298 back then I used Ulead Media Studio 8. I had a capture of the game screen, then used "mattes" to mask out all the rest of the screen and just leave the pieces I wanted, and moved them around on the screen next to the drum pads.
You might not like this but,Could you do Through The Fire and The Flames with your new camera set up would love to see the drum pad hitting with a closer view.
If you're going to switch angles in the middle of the video, could you perhaps fade between them or something so I don't have a heart attack? Or at least, do something more smooth. It's kinda... annoying having to adjust when it changes so fast.
Also, perhaps you could redo TTFAF with this new angle? Personally I think that'd be neat.
And did you get this working with RB yet? You should post some videos of that.
Lloyd1337, yeah, if i ever do multi-angle again, i'll fade. for this one, i just wanted to get both views into one vid and it was getting late so i uploaded the heart attack version. you're the 4th person to re-request TTFAF with the new angle, and i think that's more people to request that than anything, so yeah, i'll probably attempt that again. RB, i'm hoping soon, like within a couple weeks. XIM2 is almost in Beta and that's what i've been waiting for.
I love the fact you can see the lines between the pads in this one. You should let all our videos have a few frames of just you at the start. =3
Also, I prefer Goat's Eye as well. But, again, Bird's Eye would be fine if the drumset wasn't in a tilted view. (Maybe the camera directly above your head?)
HEY EVERYBODY! So far, most people prefer goat's eye view best. I think a farther away version of that will get all the benefits of the bird's eye view so i'm gonna try that next.
wow,i actually read the description unlike most of you idiots,he just used the first video he fced it 2 times and used the first one as the video!lol!
Have you ever tried to bring your setup to a guitar hero tournament or is it too hard/impossible to bring it?
I think you could win some local tourneys if it wasn't too much work to bring the setup and if you don't have to bring your computer and everything. Maybe even if you just brought a lap top.
I am sure you would get a lot of recognition for dominating on the drums at GH.
I'm a hardcore fan! Lol. Anyways, I like that sharpie touch in this video..it makes things more clear. I think your idea of a farther back "goat eye" view would be the best. I rofled when I read that goat eye thing. I liked it, though. Nice video!
i personally prefer the bird's eye because it's easier to see everything you do, i also like the fact that you marked out the drum pads, that was an improvement. i think the star power reserve is useless, i would prefer the rock meter instead. great videos, thanks for taking time to make it work for everyone!
goat'seye view, first off, the star power meter and multiplier and score are all in the same area, makes it much easier to see. secondly...well, rock on!
frazzleberry, I "up the bitrate" when I compress my final video after I edit it. I use DivX codec to compress/encode it, and from there you can set the bitrate to anything you want.
also, I have to ask a suggestion. I think it would be very cool to see colors on your drum kit. Like yellow where the you hit the yellow note, and blue where you hit blue, etc.
Thanks a lot for all the feedback everybody! Sounds like most of you like the goat's eye view. I do too, but I think it's zoomed in too far. Going to try goat's eye but zoomed out a little next time. Another thing: argggh, I thought I had the "high quality" thing figured out but it's not working on this vid! annoying... anyway, thanks again!
i reckon the birds eye veiw is better for rock band in my opinion, like you can put the rock meter on the left, score on the top left corner and the notechart and od meter are together so you can enlarge it more and put it on the right hand side :D but thats my opinion so you can do what ever you like.
lol I loved that book you wrote for the description... :-) I completely agree with you btw the goat view looks cleaner/nicer... but I like seeing what your hands are doing... tough choice... or maybe use the birds eye view and and put the score and star power on the top right middleish and move the fretboard down and crop out your foot and put it where the star power is... idk... watever u think is best... I think once you actually try it with rock band it will be easier since evrythg smaller

MetallicMikey 3 years ago
using a "matte" in the editing program. i just started using Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.
egyokeo 3 years ago
Was the drum pad hard when you first started to use it?
Enz0man 3 years ago
yeah, it took a month or two before just knowing where the notes were on the pads became intuitive to me.

egyokeo! Guess what? Do you know that 1 spanish guitar hero nline game? Well, i can play it with rock band drums on my computer =p.
Your not the only one who can play guitar hero on drums!

Driminem, no never entered any tourneys. I kinda think they wouldn't let me in since this is not a supported controller.

That's probably true. Oh well, guitar hero tourneys aren't that big right now other than WCG.

How about a flying Goats eye view :D
Nah
maybe a right above the drums if its possible, and have the note chart on the left/right like it is now.
Just an idea.

i think goat is better, and i hav a slight
question: how come there are 6 bottom pads?
in other words, which pad is which fret?
andreigiant 3 years ago
the bottom center two pads are both mapped to yellow, that way i have some flexibility with which hand to use when a Y comes along.
