  • I bought A new one with a color screen. I didn't sync it or something but it won't turn on

  • can you get pc software to do what these calculators do?

  • Waste of fucking money!! I hate to work with the facking touch!! Wish i may work with my old (but awesome) TI 84 plus!!

  • But can it blend?

  • @jaoowolabi hahah, and why's it on the floor lol

  • @jaoowolabi If you have $150 to waste yes.

  • can it handle matrix operations with variables? if not which calculator you recommend. thanks.

  • can you itegrate step by step???

  • You know what would be super cool? If you could do an unboxing and review of the new TI-nspire CX CAS. That's the one with a color display.

  • @Metroidam11

    I will be soon.

  • that screen looks amazing compared to ti-84

  • WTF people. we have calculators on our computers, phones, and ipods ect. now...we dont need this shit.

  • @MrGooseMuffin Yea, your not allowed to use a computer, phone, or iPod in ANY major test, so we DO need this.

  • @Andorhal99 LOL! phones are so small nowadays, sneak it. easy easy easy

  • @MrGooseMuffin And risk losing the money that I paid to take the test, no thank you.

  • @MrGooseMuffin yeah but not this advanced you derp tard

  • @benblue3 nerd tard.

  • me again over here and i have the same knife with 3.01 version operating system and it's amazing. i have a lot fun with my nspire cas i love it

do you have and idea how can i write applications?

you know i have the manual from nspire texas instrument

but i need a kind of example for check and try

    thx man..!

  • new 3.0 software is out makes this thing more awesome

  • @obscuresword yeah that's true i have the same knife with 3.01 version operating system and it's amazing. i have a lot fun with my nspire cas i love it

  • just spent over one hundred bucks on this, better last me a long time +

  • Can you make a comparison video of the TI-Nspire with Touchpad vs TI-Nspire CAS, i bought the CAS but i'm not really sure what the difference between them. Because i may take it back to get the other one. Also do you know when the new TI-Nspire CX and CAS CX is coming out, because i read on Wiki that it will only cost 160, and the CAS i bought was one 147 so $20 more is not a bad deal.

  • @shadowtsunami

I don't have time for a comparison video. However, I can give you a quick explanation. The only difference between the non-touchpad and the touchpad is just the keyboard layout and touchpad and of course color. The changes are only esthetic. Read the info section for more comparison information.

As for the CX, I am not sure of the exact release date. It will be some time before the summer.

  • @Staltercj what about the computer alegbra system in the TI-Nspire CAS? because the New 2010 Touchpad doesn't say cas at all? and i swear if it comes out before the summer i'm saying bye bye to this one lol, i looked at them and the layout and everything else is essential the same, only difference is 3d graphing and colors, and i think it has wifi and only uses rechargeable, idk i just want it for the colors, next thing we know it is going to have an led screen in 1080p XD

  • @shadowtsunami

There are two kinds of the touchpad Nspire. click on the ad that pops up at the bottom of the video that has a link to the TI page if you are interested in seeing the difference.

Make sure not to but the non-CAS on accident.

  • @Staltercj lol already looked but just saw the nspire cas has the computer algebra system whatever that is lol

  • @shadowtsunami

CAS is short for Computer Algebraic System. It means that you can solve for variables such as x.

  • @Staltercj OH THANK YOU LOL, i did buy the right this is great.

  • how do you get the sofware i tried a million times, and it just keeps saying "Obtaining handheld information" after i type in the license key.

  • @Natzabbagh Are you referring to the software used on the computer that emulates the calculator? Check out the help page on TI's page. The link is one of the advertisements that pops up at the bottom a few seconds after the video starts.

  • The reason it seems faster is because for the newer operating systems the processor was overclocked and the operating system was optimized (speed-wise, not space-wise). The hardware inside is almost exactly the same.

  • i have the ti nspire with no cas and it is very useful when graphing, it is also the first graphing calculator that i have use. i recommend this calculator for calculus.

  • K thanks. Are you planning on gettig the new Nspire CAS CX?

  • hey does anyone know when they are releasing the 3.0 software?

  • @dandaninglis Hopefully within the month.

  • @Staltercj Hopefully never :P I would throw away my TI-Nspire if I couldn't play game boy color games on it

  • they made the letters like that so students can use them on their ACT's

  • @rubicksroro25

    This is correct.

  • Please answer my question

for some reason my touchpad does not work while the other buttons do

can tell me why and how i can fix it

  • @DengekiTube

I am not sure exactly what your question is. If you wish for the "mouse" to appear on the screen simply run your finger over the touch pad without pressing down. after a swipe or so the mouse will appear. From there, you may click to move the cursor to a different line, Select an object, grab the scroll bar, etc.

Note: One issue with this calculator is that there is actually only ONE button under the touch pad. So the direction the arrow moves depends on where you touch it.

  • @Staltercj my question is the touchpad(including the arrows and mouse) does not work

    wonderin if u no y

  • @DengekiTube

First, take out your key bad by sliding the switch on the back of your calculator. Then plug it back in. if that doesn't work.

That seems to be a hardware issue. You should contact Texas Instruments or the place from which you purchased to set up either a repair, or replacement.

  • @DengekiTube its pretty shitty, the reviewer was really lucky his worked so well. Mine takes like an hour to realize I'm even touching it.

  • They are adding 3D to the Nspire CAS I was told this by a customer service rep, However the release date is still a complete mystery.

  • Can i put games on my TI-nspire CAS touchpad?

  • @casoandmaz There are a few, but since it lacks a lot of memory like the TI84, I don't think you can fit a lot on there. I think the games are on ticalc org

  • hi men thanks for the video, but i have some questions about this calculator what's the diference between this calculator (Tnspire CAS touch) and voyage 200?

so, what calculatror it's much better? i need it for statistics, algebra ? and you know an aplication for resolve equations step by step? so,very thanks for your help and opinion it's beautyful your calculator see you next time.!

  • @malangr

I think the Voyage 200 is complicated to use. I don't know of any program that solves the equations step by step. This calculator is good for statistics and algebra.

  • Quick question, can i add cas to my ti nspire regular?

  • @termnatorpk

I don't know if this is possible without some hacking on your part. It also depends on the type of Nspire you have. If you have the newest one (the one shown in this video) I think you can just switch out the key board with a CAS one. I'm sorry I can't give you more information on the matter.

  • I got the newer TI-Nspire.....what's the difference between that and the TI-Nspire CAS?

  • So is this basically TI-Nspire CAS with Clickpad with a touch pad? Is that the only difference in terms of software and overall function?

  • I've heard this calculator described by virtually everyone that's ever touched one as a really poor TI-89 Titanium knockoff. Shame because this thing really looked promising.

  • @Spectre426

That is interesting. I hope by "virtually everyone" you mean "only those who have not actually used it." Because I have used both calculators and can firmly say that this one is much more capable and user-friendly than the 89.

  • @Staltercj Well, the documentation is often referred to as "pathetic". It doesn't do 3D graphing (which I use, and is painfully slow on my HP48GX). The size of the letter pad could be an issue for my large hands. I've heard it also has a finnicky touchpad. The display is absolutely beautiful though, if I could get that on a TI-89 Ti I would be extremely happy. IMO they need to combine the two into a single product and render the entire question irrelevant.

  • @Spectre426

I agree completely. They both have their pros and cons. The annoying issue with the touch pad is that clicking is defined by where the finger is touching the screen. so if my finger is laying on the left side, but then I press down the arrow pad on the right, the cursor moves left. This is pretty annoying. Also the lack of 3D graphing is a mystery. The calculator is more than capable. When one modifies a statistical display the dots move along the screen as apposed to re-apearing.

  • i have a question for you

this calculator has 3D graph ??

  • I ordered one of these because my math teacher recommended it. How I wish I would have never listened to her. It's great if you're a NASA employee, for this thing is practically a super computer packed into calculator wrapping. But that's the thing, it's so complicated to use, overwhelmed with features you're probably never going to use. And even the most basic of features, are made hard. I traded for a Ti-89 Titanium, best decision ever. All the power of this thing, but none of the bite.

  • the old ti nspire is the exact same when you download the software update from the internet. There is literally no difference.

  • I tried my friend and the touch pad didnt wow me that much. I updated my software on my old ti nspire to 2.0 and its got all the same stuff as the new one.

  • @nicofish1000

Yeah, if you have the old one with the newest software it would not be worth it to by the new one. The touch pad just makes graphing a lot easier.

  • Is the touchpad better than the clickpad?

  • Please help me. I just purchased this and when I move the touchpad, nothing happens! There is no little mouse arrow...

  • @asdfghjklx3

Do not press down. Just slide your finger across it lightly a few times to activate the mouse. Then it will work just fine.

  • @Staltercj Thank you so much! That was such a silly question. I started to panic because I bought it online.

  • would you recommend this over the ti-89? if so, would you recommend the touch pad or click pad CAS?

  • @tmu123

I haven't ever used the 89, but I know people that used the 89 and upgraded to the Nspire and really like it. I also prefer the touch-pad CAS. Newer is often better.

  • in my school this thing is illegal

  • @dakingeman thats what I thought but apparently its not thats why it doesnt have a qwerty key board so that you can use it during tests

  • I have a question.

    - Is this calculator good for physics? It has Sin, Cos and Tan right?

    and

    - Do you recommend the TI-Nspire CAS with Clickpad or TI-Nspire CAS with Touchpad?

  • @NJK1D yes it is fantastic for physics, trig, algebra, and calculus. (not 3d graphing though) the touchpad itself is honestly mostly useless although sometimes graphing makes it worthwhile, but the touchpad has a different layout that I personally vastly prefer. also the touchpad also functions as a clickpad, so the only reason to get the clickpad is because you want to save 10 bucks or because you like the key layout better

  • @PoisonedV thanks!

  • @NJK1D

As far as I know it is great for physics. Of course it has Sin, Cos, Tan. It also has arctan, arcsin, arccos, csc, cot, etc.The touchpad makes navigating easier.

  • @Staltercj thanks!

  • 10000.... :D

  • omg, im losing my mind. i just bought this and i cant figure out how to delete a page. like if i have 1.1,1.2, and 1.3 open, how do i delete just 1.2? i have the ti-nspire as well, and i can do it on there and it was very helpful.

    any help is great!

  • @flywiththewind

Press Control then UP on the arrow pad. That will give you a window view. Then just close the ones you want with the delete key.

I suggest you read the user manual as well.

  • Should I get the CAS or the regular TI-Nspire? If I get the regular, I can get the TI-84 keypad.

  • @Rocket9434

The TI-84 keypad works for this calculator as well. I would get the CAS if I were you.

  • Comment removed

  • @Staltercj

My math teacher uses the nspire with the ti-84 keypad and i just bought the ti nsprire cas with the touchpad. But are you sure that it works with this calculator because the website says it dosent. Im just checkin.

  • @Staltercj actually, the website says "*The TI-84 Plus Keypad is not compatible with the TI-Nspire CAS handheld."

  • @PoisonedV

    ok thanks

  • @Staltercj hi, i was wondering if you like tested out the fact if the ti84 keypad works, because i am looking for a caclulator, and on the site, it specifically said that it doesnt work

    with the ti nspire CAS

  • whihch OS do you have ???

  • The keyboard is not in qwerty...

  • @elcolombiano0777

Correct. That is one of my problems with it.

  • Comment removed

  • @StaltercjThe reason TI did not put a QWERTY keyboard is because the college board will not allow a calculator with that type of keyboard on college entrance exams. If you want QWERTY keyboard the Voyage 200 would be the way to go. It can do everything the NSCAS2.0 can do plus 3D graphing.

  • @Staltercj TI makes their money from High School students who take SATs. These students usually keep their calculators until schooling is over. The ABC keyboard is TI's way of ensuring the students can use them on SATs. No student is going to buy an expensive calculator they can't use on a test. It sucks - but they really should offer a QWERTY version.

  • What is CAS exactly. I need a clear description. I know it adds features, but what ones?

  • @supercube123

CAS means "computer algebraic system." Meaning that it can "solve for variables" in algebraic equations.

  • Is the ti-nspire more powerfull, than ipod touch? The ipod touch is able to make 3d graphs, but does that mean, that the ipod touchis more powerfull?

  • @FRESCH94

The 3rd generation iPod touch, and the newest iPod touch have 600mHz and 1.0gHz processors. This is thousands of times faster than the NSpire CAS. It needs the processor in order to render images on the full color lcd, run multi touch, play music, render video games, etc.

The Nspire Calculator needs no such processing ability because it has a black and white screen with a minimal resolution refreshing only around ten times a second. but the Nspire has much better calc. software.

  • i bought one and it was supposed to be here about a week ago. there was some kind of shipping error. says it was delivered but..... never got it. may have to buy another and they aint cheap

  • hi which one do you think is better? this one or the casio FX-9860GII?? which one has algebra built in software.. thanks in advance

  • @felipescalador12 I am not familiar with the Casio. Sorry. I would compare specs and other reviews in order to get a general idea.

  • Now thats a serious number-cruncher!

  • The touchpad version is the newest as in this year. I would say the touchpad.

  • On the TI-89 3D graphing is graphing a plane that is rotatable.

  • Can it graph differential equations?

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

I know that it has a differential equation solver.

  • I here the nspire line will not graph in 3D unlike the 89 which though poor in quality, can. Has this been addressed in any of the updates?

Also, I bought a non CAS nspire over a year ago. Since I now need a CAS capable calculator I've been considering getting a CAS version. Currently I'm using a borrowed 89. Which CAS nspire to you recommend. The older clickpad version or this new touchpad version?

  • @Straigo

The more time I spend with the new touchpad Nspire, the more I like it over the previous model.

  • @Staltercj Good to know. I appreciate the response. Any word on possible updates for 3D graphing?

  • @Straigo

I am not sure. Although I assume 3D graphics are under development. The calculator can definitely handle it.

  • @Staltercj Cool, thanks

  • @Straigo

I am not sure. Although I assume 3D graphics are under development. The calculator can definitely handle it.

  • I have the old nspire yet I have the same interface(buttons) as that one when did you get yours?

  • @firewave90

Interesting. You have the touch pad? If so, you must have a non-CAS version with the removable key board and you have put a new key board in.

I received mine directly from TI.

  • @Staltercj it is the non-cas version but yet it has the same button layout as yours with the touch pad and everything

  • Why would I want documents on my calculator? Can you expkain this interface to me? Can you send Excel spreadsheets and Word documents to the calculator?

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

No, you cannot send Excel or Word files to the calculator. The reason for files is the same as on computers; it helps keep things organized and labelled. The ability to have tabs with different programs running (calc, grapher, etc.) makes it so that you can have projects for different things. I use folders all the time.

  • Is this superior to the TI-89 and Voyage 200? I heard it can't graph three variables in three dimentions is that correct?

  • @ToxicOdiousOne

I have not tried to graph in the third dimension before. However, I know that the processing power of the nspire is much greater than that of the TI-89. It should be able to graph it.

  • Does this new edition of the TI-Inspire have a different programming architecture than the original Nspires? Or is it just an aesthetic upgrade with the new touchpad and the segregated alpha pad?

I ask because the one MAJOR drawback of the Nspire series compared to the TI-89 Titanium (my current primary calculator) and the Voyage 200 is that due to the restrictive programming architecture of the TI-Nspire, it has practically no third-party apps available for it.

  • @ScentlessApprentice7

It has the 2.0 version of the original Nspire installed. You are right, the Nspire is much more restrictive than the 89 or any previous TI calculator.

  • can i please ask: is this one better or the silver / white one??

  • @rideralexmi6

    This one is better.

  • @Staltercj Thanks for replying back :-)

I know this is going to sound crazy and probably unnecessary, but not that I want it for that purpose, but does this thing have a GameBoy emulator (like it's old one) i.e. is there one available for this particular model?? Cheers :-)

  • @rideralexmi6

Sadly, I don't think the Nspire allows the gameboy emulator. You will have to google it.

  • @rideralexmi6

The black one is the newest.

  • which one's better - this one or that white / silver one??

  • I've used a TI-81, 83 and 85 through my high school days, but usage fell off in college after core mathematics classes were over. I haven't followed the evolution of these divices since then, can you catch me up? Are there daily commercial uses of these advanced calculators; what industries are they used, and what are the people doing that are using them? Is the usage limited to academic and research settings?

  • @vendorvoicemedia

I am not sure if these are used commercially, but they very well can be. There are many very advanced functions integrated into the OS.
