People are afraid of the French crowd. If you so much as question a line call, they'll practically boo you out of a stadium. They turned on Maria Sharapova last year simply because she was the favorite. You may be nice, but it's widely known that the French crowd is strict.

My point, Nole could have gone out of there with a huge applause from this tough crowd had he just thanked the crowd and left the dirt for the locker room. Today, Nole is a true threat at RG this year as he knows Nadal's game and they have had some great matches lately. But, he has also learned a lesson. Keep the dirt in the locker room! But, right now, he is #4!

im american but i have to say tht djokovic is a better player than roddick. i remember watching him live against stepanik and he hit a ball that was about 2 feet away from the baseline which was out. then he started to complain. it was probably cuz he was losing.

Lets see. How many tournaments has Novak "retired" from since then. Novak played this crowd WRONG no matter the circumstances. You would have never seen the true champions of tennis, Fed, Nadal say something like that to the crowd. Save it for the locker room!

hahaha thats true they wernt jokes at all, roddicks comments wer true. its always something with dj. my leg hurts, im tired, im sick, the list goes on n he takes medical injuries time outs to buy time. its freakin ridiculous. roddick doesnt have the best personality, but he got it rite with dj. he has pretty bad sportsmanship if u look at all hes done. i think thats y ppl wer cheering against him. its not just the us open man... aus open too.

A lot of Serbs here, methinks. Anyone without bias could tell that Djokovic was being an ass here. You don't gloat after you win a match. If he had done this in Spain after beating Nadal or Argentina after beating Nalbandian he'd have been jumped in the parking lot by an angry mob. Americans are relatively laid back and not overly patriotic, they cheer for everyone.

Nadal, Nalbandian or pretty much anybody else for that mater, wouldn't be that ungracious to outright suggest that an opponent is faking injuries. Roddick's poor comments caused this post-match "gloating", although there wasn't much gloating anyway if you ask me.
