This game is not dead, it has a few servers I think. It's one of the best MMO's I have ever played. It's just a shame because nobody even knows it exists so it has very few players. They have announced a huge update coming soon, I really cant wait. If they make it free to play, I am going to be straight back! But I just wish they would spend some money to advertise it... The gamers of the world need to know it at least exists.

I wouldn't say the game is totally dead, it does have a small community but with the announcement of future planned updates (a bugfix patch released just last week) depending on how SOE progress the game has a future still.

They mention sea monsters and pirates, for players who have ships to deal with. They planned that, but sea monsters and pirate ships never made it into the game. Such a shame, would have been awesome if it had been added in.

I came back and am about to leave again.. My characters were on a pvp server and now the games only pvp is an empty arena or duels.. Was awesome when I played wish the population lasted on the pvp side..

Actually the games databace has over 40,000 players.

The point is the landscape and cities are so big that the players are scattered

in far places.

i go to a few of the main trade sited every time i log in and there is easily

50 players there at same time. Oh and dont pick on a giant Warriour ive done this and my Nome mage is a massive damage smasher lasted 10 seconds lol.

every single time i load up this game the setting change or i get booted offline

and when i log back in im standing in a lake drowning.

Soe failed to make this game compatable with newer dated computers.

i have 4 computors it does exactly the same thing on all of them.

@Emraj2ube no idea :( it has more than one could wish for, player housing in the world, unique environments, ships! It did have alot of bugs at the start, like falling thru the world and stuff like that, maybe thats why, and there were these small things like character animation...It would be great if SoE started working on this game again, made it even more perfect, and make a new release.

This game is probably one of the most under appreciated and under rated MMO's of our time. It amazes me people would prefer the new generation of completely shit MMO's that cater to children over a game like this. It's sad to see SOE doesn't see the potential this game has, especially for adult gamers who like in depth crafting and game play. Vanguard, although not great at launch is now definitely a game worth taking the time to check out. I highly recommend it.

i think that this game is a wonderful game. i dont currently play it, but im thinking of coming back to it. the gameplay is great, and the world is huge, and theres so much customization in everything you do, its like you can make the game your own. the only problem, is population. if this game had a higher popluation, and more players, this game would be near perfect! i feel we should all stick around in the game and give it time to rise in population and become much better.

Looked interesting at one time but the changes that have been made bother me. 1) The travel system is boring. They should learn from UO. Make it more involved. 2) Too much raiding and grind at the high levels. The emphasis should be adventure, not getting a perfect group or getting 30 people together. That was what made classic lowmid-lvl eq great. Don't increase grind as people level up like eq did. 3) Don't remove details. Don't capitalize named. Don't help me so much. Immerse me.

My PC struggles some with this game. I think it's a matter of finding the optimal settings. Sometimes one small think makes the FPS drop a lot. Most of the time it runs really well now though on a system with high ram, cpu and graphics card.

At release this sucked, but now it is a lot better. I got it when it first hit, and dropped it quickly. I'm glad I came back to it, it's a lot more fun.

Check The Beauty of Vanguard videos (3 of them) for a second opinion on graphics. It's a pretty fun game. Sort of like the "fun" world of WoW with the more seriousness of EQ2.

Also check out Saieno86's vids on here. The "dungeon" one is probably the most interesting visually.

After playing Wow for 3 years and vanguard for about a week (I know it's not long) I can say that VG definitely beats WoW crafting, harvesting and fightingwise, but i may get bored later on and i don't have much experience of higher levels but VG has given me a MUCH better first impression than WoW.
