Well I had one myself. The car looks and drives fantastic, but is completely unergonomic in the inside and as far as E39 is dependable, E60 is not, it falls apart after few years of service (by falling apart I mean engine felt out of the car, complete failure of light circuit, etc), the only thing really good is the engine, because its the same for over 15 years and its pretty damn well made.

I am planning to buy a BMW 5 (about 8-10 years old), and I tought before diesels are slow... but this is NOT slow, this is maybe faster then 528i :o. Can anybody tell me the truth what is the difference between diesel and patrol? Or this wehcicle is tuninged? Thanks !

@V0ree Diesel is better!! it shifts nicer is better rated for mpg and it has nicer sound + your cool when you drive a diesel. Reasons enough? Oh and buy an automatic thats better and quicker then stupid handshifting.

i know that the facelift(2007) has 235ps

30 seconds from 0 to 200km/h is not bad at all, especially for a 3litre diesel. Just compare to my 520i. It takes 25 seconds to speed up to 200km/h.

I should get to have a small test drive on the 530d. Many people say that's it's just as good as the many other bimmers with the M50 engine.
