  • Да, очередной цветастый =веник=. И вот даже сами не видяк какой ерундой так серьёзно занимаются.

  • First question: Out of which year is this footage?

Second: Is the technique before the Yoko geri kekomi a Tsukami uke or Tate shuto uke?

  • @Karadota I believe its Tsukami uke

  • Re:What Karate style is this?. Asai sensei is the World Cheif instructor for Shotokan Karate. The movements also appear to be Shotokan, although this kata is not one of the standard forms taught in common curriculums. Karate should never be restricted by style and ultimately any Karate Kata should be explored by practitioners of all styles.

  • Agreed. Learn the way, then find your own way. That's what we see here. People like Asai Sensei and Kanazawa Sensei have reached a level where they can make their own kata, therefore helping karate progress. What i noticed about the kata they both make is the heavy use of crane stance. Interesting how in shotokan the crane stance is an advanced, but it's one of the first stances you learn in Okinawan-based styles. Always good to compare differences b/w arts.

  • Oops, my mistake, I meant to say cat stance, not crane stance.

  • what karate style is his?

  • Kakuyoku :

    Kaku (Crane)

    Yoku (Wing) :)

  • It looks cool.
