hm, hard to say whether martina's behaviour was unfair... remember: in 1989 in the r16 match against ivan lendl michael chang got away with an underhand service as well... the french crowd appreciated it!!! martina's problem was that she was no. 1 seeded and showed her razor tongue the days before!

Bla bla bla....
I saw worst displays of sportsmanship in history and the world just keeps silent.
It was drama for Martina, she lost her nerves, self-control. She's just a human, sport isn't pink, sometimes the darkest and terrible behaviours comes. The french crowd was nasty as always when them favour plays, churlish drones etc.
The tax swindler daughter won.
Poor Martina, it was very biiter pill to swallow for her and lesson of humility.
Steffi, THE BEST.
This german bitch couldn't produce any words in french at presentations after the final, "bitchy" Hingis said few words in french... ridicoulous

To be honest the match was her in destiny, no one should blame the crowd entirely after all she re-grouped and was serving for the match

the chair umpire, the lineswoman, the tournament referee, the tournament director -- they all could not pacify her.
what a brat! "The worst display of sportsmanship in the history of all tennis." (New York Times)
Hingis brought it all on herself. She was responsible for the entire thing. She deserved the crowd's opprobrium.
She would have been banned from Roland Garros for all eternity.
