Very unassuming and rockin song of David Gates, we took for granted the material they recorded and expected the fountain of songs on each record. They never let us down. Was this the only David Gates song they recorded and did David ever release his own version - ? ENJOY !
@123ZAC4567890 The Monkees had everybody who was anybody in the music business writing songs for them. I saw them about 12 years ago. An incredible show!
i'm 22 yrs old and i LOVE this show! btw i'm just wondering if anyone knows, is it true that the little girl that's riding on the horse with Davy is actually his daughter?
@SenorZorrozzz Justin Biber does not look half as good as Davy Jones. Ever. It will never happen. As for success although Bieber is a bit too prepackaged for my liking he did work his way up on his own too so I will give him credit where credit is due.
Recollections of climbing around the jungle gym at Village Manor Swim Club in Shaler, Pennsylvania. Actually, that sucked, and the high board was a scary proposition, but, in the same era, the Monkees's songs were everywhere, and that was great. Love them to this day, and beyond.
@PrplHazel Don't forget Peter was hanging on the rings when the children were grabbing him. The children successfully pulled him down off the rings. At the beach, I wonder why Mike, Micky, and Davy did not take off their shoes and Peter did. I ♥ seeing Peter's bare feet throughout most of the romp.
The used copies of this series are WELL over a 100 dollars a set and chance of getting Rips of the DVDs uploaded on Megaupload with Bonus Features??? Thanks.

@babeesquid Yes, I saw comments about child pornograhy. MrMillyFan was the person who thinks all the scenes from this romp are - - . Yes, they were sick comments.
@bubblebear83 Sick as fuck !. The Monkees are real good guys ; they were only about 20 here as well. They were just being kind to these little kids and having fun for the film. I'm so glad to be from an innocent time as a kid when The Monkees were on tv first time around, in 1967 ; they are great !
@TheKenfig MMillyFan was a sick person. As you scroll down and read my comment to this person, I told him "You are sick". He think every scene in this romp is - -. Peter was 24, Mike was 23, Micky was 21 and Davy was 20 when they filmed the romp.
Actually, this is my favorite romp because I love how The Monkees were playing with children at the beach. Yes, I can tell by the romp to Saturday's Child, all the Monkees did have fun during filming and playing with the children.
@IzziBella234 omg thats amazing! and dang he has really good memory! thanks soo i gotta look for a playground equipment and a sand pile and im good! lol:)
@MsBebe1356 I knew it. I saw pictures on Google of Zuma Beach. Is the playground still the same or they change it around besides the comparison between 45 years ago and today? Almost three or four years ago, there was a fire in Malibu. Structures were destroyed.
@MsBebe1356 That is sad 45 years later, there is no more jungle gym and slides on the beach. There are only the swings. Now the playground at the beach is turned into a playground that only have swings.
@MsBebe1356, I wish I was The Monkees playing with the children at the beach especially playing with them on the playground. I love to pretend to be Peter.
@IzziBella234 oh thats really kool!:) im just gonna need help finding the exact one..like is there a sign that says this is the filming spot? or is their something on the beach? like how did he know? thanks:)
utoobuser101/i agree the monkees are so under rated as a rock group/ and should be in the rock and roll hall of fame/ they gave us some amazing songs over the span of their career. this is great song always liked it. you know they had their own sound and of course music is always a reflection of what is going on in your world socially or poiltically, and their music reflected the generation of love. the flower children/ (my generation) they did great job and should be recognized for it
@bubblebear83 I know that but I didn't mean that they were shot in the same place. I just ment that you know how Sesame Street does parodies of pop culture like they a a Beatles group that looked like actual Beetles (The insects) they could have just gotten the IDE for the Sesame street clip from this Monkees clip. Sorry for the confusion.
@disneysongtape Sesame Street was messed up until they had Elmo's World and other segments. I agree, all the classics that we heard as a child are gone.
@disneysongtape (Pat you in the back): I know. Adding Journey to Ernie. Thank goodness that is gone. That was a boring segment. Make that Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie, and Big Bird ruined Sesame Street. Today, Sesame Street should focus more on healthy foods and exercise than the boring new segments they have added. Now the old classic music from Sesame Street has added remix and made a new version of all the old classic songs from past seasons.
@disneysongtape II think you brought up a good point on this one and I agree with you. Sorry to go off topic a little bit, reruns of old television shows like The Monkees, Gidget, One Day at a Time, Bosom Buddies, Full House, Silver Spoons and etc. are the shows that we grew up watching from the past. Today's TV shows that we watch are not the same than we have watched in the past.
@disneysongtape . . . As we gotten older, they discontinued Disney Afternoon, Cartoons, and other shows that we normally watch when we were children coming home after school. Now all the good shows are on cable. It is not the same than it was back then.
@bubblebear83 Not it is not. Today camedy is all toilet and sex jokes. There is other stuff out there that is funny. Mix it up but they won't. Today's TV and music is just crap.
Today's music is not that bad. You're right on today's comedy shows there are a lot of funny jokes, S-E-X, and a few swear words on television. I think because we are more adjusted to television shows that are from the past than the present. I grew up watching a lot of old reruns from all the television series. As I gotten older, they stopped airing old shows on public television and replace it with talk shows.
@bubblebear83 you could be right. I think that is why I watch alot of The Disney Channel Zack & Cody Hannah Montana ect and Tv Land. and ABC Family they are more what I am used to.
@LynnRoRo You do have great taste in music. This clip is from one of my favorite Monkees Episodes. It reminds me of this girl I was madly in love with back in 1986 (I was 24, she was 19). Oddly enough, this girl was a huge Beatles Fan. Unfortunately, she was in love with someone else. Oh, well.
Micky and Mike wore the same clothes throughout the entire time at the beach during the shooting. In some scenes, Davy was wearing his shirt when he was swinging and sliding down the slide and shirtless during the motorcycle ride, he and the other Monkees are being chased by children, riding on the beach buggy, on the jungle gym and playing a clapping game with them. Peter had three shirt changes and he had his shoes on during the motorcycle ride.
I think they spent the whole day shooting the Monkees at the beach for the romp: The Monkees on the motorcycle, playing on the playground with children, children are chasing the Monkees, The Monkees on a beach buggy ride with the children, the Monkees had a race at the beach to see who can run the fastest, Davy and Micky were trying to get Peter end up with Micky pushing and playing around with Peter. Some of the scenes on the romp that I listed are shown in the next couple of episodes.
i LOVE this song...........not sunday- not a marriage, see who is there and doing the wrong thing (did the wrong thing for too long)........stick with saturday- the real help.
Child Pornography First Minute 0:31 Boy grabs Davy's crotch 0:33 Girl grabs Davy crotch 0:31 to 0:34 Children mount Davy 0:36 Dave slides hand and grabs little girl's bottom near her crotch 0:39 to 0:41 Davy, little girl on lap with legs spread; he "pumps" the swing 0:39 - 0:45 Monkees with children "swinging" on their laps 0:47 - 0:48 Davy with obvious erection 0:51 Boy touched Mike's butt; Mike reacts 0:55 - 0:56 Davy and little topless (or naked) girl 0:56 Little girl nipples
@STP43FAN1 That is a very good question, this is the alternate mix of Saturday's Child. I don't know who exactly sang it other than Boyce & Hart? The Monkees did exactly sang the album version of this song. Maybe Peter or Micky?
@maliburide Going off topic, the original syndication did play "Shades of Gray" during Success Story instead of "I Wanna Be Free". @XxxXSeptemberXxxX I think they are two different girls who sat on Micky's lap. I am not sure. I like when the kids were grabbing Peter while he was hanging. I don't know he expected kids to pull him down.
@XxxXSeptemberXxxX Hate to argue, who cares it is Peter :P Sorry Davy, I prefer Peter as the hunk of the group. Micky as the funny guy. I just like Micky as the funny guy and that is all.
@XxxXSeptemberXxxX No offense, in my opinion, I don't think Micky's sexy. Micky is my third favorite Monkee. Sorry Davy, we both agreed that you are not sexy.
To answer your question: If I think of Peter (the character), I think of attractiveness.
@bubblebear83 Nah i think Davy is sexy also lol i just like peters smile Micky's the sexiest then Davy and mike are tied in second and then its Peter but Micky is the sexiest
How could you like peter? he scares me and my sister
@TheMonkeesRock, Oh, I did not know that. At least, the Monkees today in their mid-60's are going on tour this summer. They have not plan out the US tour dates yet. Only two or three dates were revealed for their upcoming tour.
This is my favorite video because I like when The Monkees do play with the children on the ride on the jeep slide on the slide, kids sitting on The Monkees' lap, swinging and doing flips on swings, playing a hand game, climbing on the jungle gym, and chasing them on the beach. The children grabbed Peter while he was hanging on the rings while he lost his grip. This beach scene is located in Malibu, CA. It is 45 minutes away where I live.
@utoobuser101 They've left out alot of bands that deserve to be there, while adding ones that in no way should be there... the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke anyway, so why is it a shame?
i think tht the half naked little girl is probably watching this video thinking "where the hell is my shirt?"

@XxxXSeptemberXxxX Hate to argue, who cares it is Peter :P Sorry Davy, I prefer Peter as the hunk of the group. Micky as the funny guy. I just like Micky as the funny guy and that is all.

@bubblebear83 ;o! I hate peter but mickys sexy how could you think peter is sexy?
XxxXSeptemberXxxX 1 year ago
@XxxXSeptemberXxxX No offense, in my opinion, I don't think Micky's sexy. Micky is my third favorite Monkee. Sorry Davy, we both agreed that you are not sexy.
To answer your question: If I think of Peter (the character), I think of attractiveness.

I think the Monkees are criminally underrated. I Think it's a shame that they are not in the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

@utoobuser101 I Cant's vote this up enough...I just saw them in concert..best concert I've ever seen....

@utoobuser101 They've left out alot of bands that deserve to be there, while adding ones that in no way should be there... the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke anyway, so why is it a shame?
