People can talk trash about Jeff George all day long but the fact matter is in real life face to face no one would say anything to the mans face. He is a truly nice person I grew up with the guy his mother was a teacher at my school. The very first football pass I ever caught was from Jeff George. The things people dont know about this man is what such a good person he is. Dont let few haters take away from the fact the man had the strongest arm in NFL history along with few NFL records
Jeff George never played behind a decent offensive line. He was sacked an average of 52 times a year. He had a great year in Minnesota, they let him go to give Daunte Culpepper the reins. He still has a cannon arm. I can't believe no one will give him a shot since he is better than most of the back up qbs in the league right now.
...thank-you for posting these. What an amazing find. Love watching Jeff sling it around...wish his career had lasted longer. Simply the best arm I've ever seen. A pleasure to watch throw the ball.
I've always been a fan of this guys arm, it was as good as anyone's ever...I believe even now he should be in uniform somewhere as a back up...He would have suffered as Farve and Warner did if he'd have to face the likes of New Orleans, but as a quarterback, I've enjoyed watching him play...Someone put a uniform on him plz!..
I will never forget back when he played with the Colts. This dude was literally running backwards off his back foot and threw a pass that went 60 yards and never came more than 15 yeards off the ground. I nearly shit my pants. John Elway and Brett Favre could not have made that throw. Jeff George has the strongest arm I have ever seen.
@humanparadox jeff has the total package when it came to throwing.i still give the edge in pure arm strength to elway first then favre but not by much. But george had the quicker relase and could throw off any foot at any arm angle.
jeff george was the biggest fluke for a draft choice ever in the history of the nfl....the colts gave up some much for him and all they looked at was his arm strenght...his accuracy was terrible and he just didnt have no agility what so ever.andre rison and those draft picks they gave to the falcons for him was a major bust and i mean major and thats the bottom line
I wouldn't say the biggest fluke for a draft choice ever. I'd say that goes to Tom Brady in a good way. selected in the 6th round, shared time with Drew Henson at MU and then replaces a porenial all-pro and beast of a passer and wins three superbowls.
George did put up good numbers, but he kind of reminds me of Cutler in the sense that he put up admirable numbers but couldn't win for anything because he was self centered. Cutler will do the same, and like George his career will be forgotten.
He has a gun. No one questions that. But he is way out of shape for a 41 yr old (check out the flab and love handles); he does not have good leadership skills and would only be a a decent back-up on a strong-coached team with an established locker room.
If George would have been drafted by a decent team, and played for decent teams he would be in the Hall Of Fame. The only team that was decent was the one year with the Vikings and they were stupid for letting him go and not signing him to a long term contract.
I've been gay over Jeff Georges arm for 20 Years. The only time this man has thrown a duck is when his offensive lineman usher in defensive lineman for the crushing hit. He'll still have a cannon on that arm when he's wearing Depends.

@ohioguy440 Nah, he had all the physical gifts, but he was a complete mental case.

He'd win the 2 vs 0 league. Hands-down he's the best QB on that field.

He's out of shape for a 41-year old? What 41 year olds are you hanging out with?
